Grab this book and your favorite beverage of choice, settle down in your reading nook and take a journey through the mind of a remarkable woman as she gives you a tour of her life and thoughts through this collection of poetry. It is even better than the first!

For those who have suffered any kind of trauma, you will find yourself in her words and be encouraged and lifted up. You will know that there is hope of recovery, hope of restoration and hope of renewal. It takes great courage to lay one's heart open to reveal such vulnerability. True to the book's description, Kristen's vulnerability in her poetry leads to a cathartic and satisfying experience.

These poems by Kristen give a glimpse into the authors mind. That is why poetry is so intimate.

I believe poets write from the heart, and lay their souls open for anyone to come along and look deep inside. It is a vulnerability that is unique to them. They give verse and we take, plucking rawness from that verdant garden as if it were flowers.

I enjoyed these poems, and the dark and melancholic subject matter she portrays. She evokes a sense of loss in many of the poems and it touched my heart too.

Fans of poetry make sure to check this one out!

Another great collection of painful reflections and reminiscing heartaches. A proper sequel to her first book, K Vincent has written another masterpiece! There was a poem in this one about a tornado warning that I found pretty neat to have been included also. I think that the last few lines summed up Kristen's thought process when she writes, I found it a perfect ending, read this book to find out what they were...

There are certain books, that when I read them, I prefer to do it in total silence, and away from distractions. This is definitely one of those books!! Her writing really makes you want to savour every word and let it seep into your soul.
It takes a lot of courage to be able to share, such personal and heart-wrenching thoughts, the way Ms. Vincent has in her second collection. I would highly recommend this book to any poetry fan. Or even if you're not a fan of poetry, I would suggest giving this one a chance.

Just as good as the first book!

I loved reading these poems. There’s a lot of pain and sadness at first, but moving through them, I started to see the healing, self-love and forgiveness. I saw joy and happiness, confidence and love. The last poem is my favorite, and I pictured the bird as a phoenix rising from the flames. Such powerful emotions shared through verse. Good book of poems!

We all have a past, some better than others. We all face our own traumas and demons, wether it’s our past, present or future. It’s all in the way we face those demons and memories that we begin to heal from them. That’s the hard part. So many bottle it up and push it aside, saying “eh it’s no big deal, other people have more serious problems”. One persons broken crayon could be equivalent to another’s whole box of broken crayons. Kristen is not only a good friend of mine but, she has the talent to release these troubled thoughts into her writing. You read her poems and think, “Wow. Ok, I’m not the only one that feels this way.” They don’t only touch your soul, but they reach way down like a knocking on your heart, yelling that you’re NOT ALONE in this world. No matter what your head demons tell you. I like to keep her books lying around just to have close to me. So, when I feel myself going down a rabbit hole, I can pick it up and read and remember that I’m not alone, it’s brilliant talent and it’s a life changer when you’re feeling alone and need a “pick me up”.
