This book is written for students at novice high - intermediate low level proficiency. Students in year 3 of study will find it most comfortable, but with footnotes, illustrations and the full glossary, it is accessible to students in year 2 as well. Frequent use of subjunctive and other advanced grammar satisfy and challenge intermediate readers in years 3+ , without interrupting comprehensibility to novice high readers.
I love using Theresa Jensen's books for my Spanish students! This book is great for Spanish 3 and 4 students and Would be a good read-aloud for your advanced Spanish 2 or even native Spanish speakers who do not like to read much. It is a great little mystery. I have used many of her books in my classes.
