This series does one thing very, very well: be harmless fluff. If that's what you're looking for, you can't do much better than this.

It’s been a while since I read volume 3, but it was so easy to get back into this story. Summer has come to Wolfvarte, and the world-building expands once again with the introduction of the Winged Wildam Empire. There’s a bit of conflict with one of their pegasus knights, Theodore, that nearly caused an international dispute, but Laetitia handles it so nicely it results in her drawing the attention of their crown prince, Ernest. Which means even more rivals for Glenreed, and he’s not happy with it because he does notice the growing number of her admirers. Laetitia, on the other hand, remains oblivious both to this and the fact that Glenreed is falling in love with her. She still thinks her role as Wolfvarte’s queen is temporary.

The good news is that after the initial awkwardness that comes from Laetitia discovering Lord Aroo’s identity, both Glenreed and her solved this issue swiftly through proper communication. They literally just sit down for some pizza toast and talk it out, which is nice because she gets to learn about his background and he can finally open up to her a little.

As usual, there’s plenty of food and cozy slice-of-life scenes. By now Laetitia has so many fluffy friends at her villa and honestly I could read about them forever even if nothing happens, but this series has always been excellent at maintaining balance. In the second half, the plot neatly ties the conflict at the beginning to one of the queen candidates: Lady I-Liena. A relative of hers, Mi-Milsha, is falsely arrested for helping Theodore escape, and it’s up to Laetitia to figure out what’s going on. While it’s actually more about politics involving Wolfvarte’s royal family, it does delve into I-Liena’s character story as well. The revelation of the twist is a bit rushed, but I liked the intricacy. Everything just comes together in the end.

In the last chapter, Laetitia finally gets to see her older brother Claude. Their reunion comes with the introduction of Prince Altiado, her ex-fiancé’s young uncle, as well as an event that will send her on a trip back to her homeland. There were hints of unfinished business in Elltoria back in the first book, so I’m excited to find out what’s going to happen there.

goes more into depth on why and how ancestral reversion works (why the king can turn into a wolf) i love the gardener cats, they're so cute but it is a bit irritating that the fmc came from a different world and still is a bit naive i understand that it's needed for plot reasons, however sometimes she's really dense😭 especially when the king is also feeling the same things and not gonna lie i don't think an interim queen (who has to eventually go back home) would be involved in so many internal workings.

very good

The book is very good I can already see we’re gonna be like 10 or 12 maybe 20 books in for we actually get finished with the story. But it’s very well written and I really enjoy it. My only comment is that I wish that the editor would work better. Multiple times the same text is copied again and again in the book. Which just looks bad for the editor. Now I have to wait for the next one though. I’m a little depressed.

Really enjoyable series! Can't wait to see when will Laetitia and Glenreed stop being in denial of how they feel about each other. I can't remember how much more time is left in their marriage before it gets annulled, but it would be interesting to see what happens when that deadline comes closer and they still didn't admit how they really feel.

Now that she knows Glenreed is Lord Aroo I feel like there's been a big step forward in their relationship. It made their interactions even cuter. Plus with more people from other kingdoms showing up, it's helping the world feel more developed and giving more adventures to happen. Plus her cast of fluffy creatures are ever growing and that's what we're truly here for.

This might be my favorite volume yet. This is a very eventful volume; lots of people visiting, lots of truths unveiled, lots of enemies toppling and lots of ships sailing. A very exciting read.

this is such a fun series

There were quite a few surprises in this volume and some twist and turns that I did not see coming.
