A collection of short stories about one of the greatest characters in literature. Lai Wan is a woman who escaped from China only to be tragically struck down by an accident. But this was not the end. She miraculously survived her death and came back with the power to know the history of any object or person she touches. She tends to avoid people but trouble always seems to find her...and despite the pain it causes her she battles all manner of monsters. If you are tired of traditional vampire fare (just as an example) there's a story in here that turns the old lore on its head. Read this book. You won't regret it.

I love this character, but I bought the trade for one word. One word, two syllables Kol-chak.
