Who is Stephen Terry?
Stephen is a semi-retired Charity Auditor, now living in Thailand. He now writes full-time, producing crime fiction (between beers). Web Page: stephenterry.weebly.com. Here is his story:

I have written for as long as I can remember, although, in later years, most of it has been churning out fifty-page professional reports, from my reviews in over forty countries. I have had my full share of sadist managers who used to pick my writing to pieces, but boy, did it help improve my spelling, grammar and presentation skills (he says between gritted teeth).

But writing novels is a whole new ball-game, and for me there’s been no short-cut to fame and glory – (violins are playing) although joining a writer’s site like Word Cloud, and posting pieces for critique, has really sharpened my writing, and quickened the learning process. I even won a couple of Flash Fiction (fun) competitions, there (he says, modestly).

These experiences (sufferings) have given me a sound foundation to launch my novels onto the unsuspecting public. I completed my first full-length novel, No Money No Honey, in 2010. NMNH is a black-humour crime caper based in Thailand – I liked the story (well I would, wouldn’t I?) even though I would have written it differently, now. In the same year, I finished A Date with Death, a US based Police Detective thriller. This year I finished two Novellas, Hawaii High Five and Hawaii Hi Low, crime stories for leisure reading. Now for the ‘sales’ pitch: if you want to laugh at my formative writing, all of these have been self-published on Kindle at £0.86. I have sold about three copies of each and have yet to have a review posted – so be warned...

I have many more stories on the go, all at various stages of completion, and I wonder how I have enough time to do anything else, apart from stocking up the beer fridge. South Thailand, where I live by the sea in a small agricultural and fishing town, is so relaxing. It’s like a retreat 24-7, 365.

Wow – is that the time? Time for a Chang – see you guys, later.
