This is a full length novel around 100K words - Release date is set in stone.

~ ~ Crossing my arms and leaning back into my chair, I smirk. "Yup, Happy is absolutely my name, Captain Thor. Dude, you're like a cross between Captain Kirk and Thor... Chris and Chris." Looking around at the rest of the table, I ask, "I'm not wrong am I? It's uncanny." ~ ~

Meeting the person you know you're destined to be with should be easy. But what if he doesn't know how to find the inappropriate in the seriousness of life? If he doesn't know how to laugh?

When you finally teach him how, what happens when the unthinkable happens and you find that you, yourself, forget how to laugh?

He needs to show her that with life comes death, and even with death, love and laughter can always be found.

~ ~ ~
LAUGH is a contemporary romance novel, and is 18+ with elements some may find triggering. Please read the trigger warning at the beginning of the book, and if you find any topics that you think will push you, please don't read. I will warn you that the main trigger of this book is the death of a supporting character. It's a large part of the book, so if that's a no go, please don't put yourself in the position to be uncomfortable. Please note that even though the topics are heavy, the loss of a character is not one of our two main characters.

I wrote this book in honor of my baby sister who passed away on 9/23/21 from cancer. My goal is to share my pain with you all as well as help, through humor, to know that even when we lose someone we love, they're never really gone.

“I love you more than serial killers love conversion vans.”

While this is the first book I've read from my dear friend Green I have a feeling it's probably going to stand as a top favorite forever. Like anyone who reads the author's note, I knew exactly what I was getting into when I was given the honor of reading this beautiful novel before the masses, but I had no idea I would fall absolutely in love with it while it broke my heart into little pieces only to put it back together again with its words as the glue.

Not only is Beau and Haddie's relationship on a pedestal in my eyes, but Green's characterizations truly make you feel like you know each and every one of these characters intimately. That they too are your friends and family. Which only makes the subject matter in our plotline here hit that much harder.

Grief is a difficult thing to write about but Green does it with such poise and humor, a raw and real quality about it that only makes it that much more tangible. Watching Beau comfort Haddie through some of the most painful moments was truly heart wrenching and I can only hope and pray to have a love like that one day. Needless to say Beau is going on the book boyfriend list immediately.

Laugh was written not only with an extra ounce of blood, sweat, and tears but it was done so in the memory of my dear Green's sister whom I can only imagine is doubly as proud as I am for each and every word written in these pages. Not only is it beautiful in its portrayal of loss and grief, but it is astounding in its ability to balance all of that with the joys and absolute hilarity that is and can be life and living.

'Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world…'

My Green Princess– thank you for putting this out into the world. Thank you for reminding me why it's so important to continue talking about the ones we've lost. Thank you for helping me grieve, again, in a way I've been needing. Thank you.

Never mind the grief aspect of this book it’s the fmc that makes it hard to read. She’s one of those rambling, babbling, no filter, says the most random out of pocket shit, over the top tries to be funny people and the amount of second hand embarrassment she gave me almost had me cringing to death.

Also for anyone else who also hates reading about the fmc still being a virgin at an unrealistic age this book has that too. In chapter 4 she says she’s 25 and then in chapter 9 she refers to herself as a 27 year old. Same for the mmc first he’s said to be 32, then later in the book he’s apparently 34. And there’s no time jump the books is set over just a few months. So this was annoying.

-Dual pov
-Ages h either 25/27, H either 32/34???
-Virgin h, no real info given on H but doesn’t seem like a manwhore
-Death of a side character
-Family drama, h’s stepmom is a cunt and her dad is a spineless asshole.
-OWD- not really bad, but h first met H when he was in a group hangout situation and her sister was beside him and hanging on his arm. Then h heard her sister telling their stepmom about him and assumed there was something going on. When the h first got friendly with him (through work) she asked him if he was dating her sister and he was like who’s your sister lol. Then when they turned up to a family dinner together as a couple the sister threw a tantrum (mind you she’s apparently in her 20’s as well) and was like I was supposed to date him. Cringe. When her family are awful to her he puts her brothers in their place, tells off the stepmom and dad and tells the sister he was never interested not even for a second.
-no omd
-No third act breakup
-HEA
-epilogue 4 years later, happily married and with a son on the way

tissues. lots and lots of tissues.

This book was amazing and it broke my heart, left me with swollen eyes and a son who was traumatized by finding me sitting on the couch sobbing at 3 am. I’ve loved all these books so far but I have to say Happy and Beau are my all time favorite couple. When the swelling in my eyes goes down I’ll be on the hunt for more of the authors work and I am 100% not even joking about the swelling

Yet another great read from S.E. Green!

I went into 'Laugh' knowing I was going to end up crying. Stories that feature loss usually hit pretty hard for me, and this one was no different. Especially after reading the author's foreword and hearing about the real life experience that aspect of the story was based on. She captured her own loss and portrayed it beautifully. It wasn't gruesome or dramatic- it was realistic. S.E. Green managed to write the loss the FMC deals with in a way that I myself feel as though I've experienced in my life, just with different details. It was phenomenal.

Haddie is such a fun character! She's quirky and chaotic which paired really well with Beau's calmness. Beau is absolutely a goal worthy book boyfriend. He makes mistakes (several of which made me giddy when he got his karma for them!) but he fessed up to them. He was also devoted to Haddie from the minute he realized he liked her. The way he supported her through her loss only endeared him to me further.

What I didn't expect going into this story (despite its title) was to spend so much time laughing! The relationship Haddie has with her best friend Marcus was filled with some great humor! They were such a fun pair! Adding Beau into that really just made their interactions that much funnier!

I can't wait to see what S.E. Green writes next!

RATINGS
Overall: 5/5
Characters: 4/5
Plot: 4.5/5
Chemistry: 5/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Pacing: 5/5

MAIN CHARACTERS - Hattie & Beau

SYNOPSIS - A young, awkward woman finds love, battles with self-confidence and family drama, and suffers the loss of her best friend.

REVIEW - This one really put my heart through the ringer but it instantly made me a fan of this author. I'm going to credit that in part to the actual book but also to the foreword in the beginning which gave context and connection to where she was at when she wrote this. My heart broke the entire time knowing what was to come and I still can't tell if the warning was good or bad but it allowed me to see beneath the story to the actual pain she endured. Bringing levity to it and allowing the good memories through really allowed this story to heal wounds I didn't even realize I had myself dealing with losses and fear. All that aside, the characters were great. They were flawed and awkward but loyal and heartfelt. Not every issue was resolved and wrapped up in a pretty bow but the MCs were able to love each other through it enough to not let it hold them back. Beautiful story that easily has become a favorite.

WOULD I RECOMMEND - If you don't mind knowing you'll likely cry at some point, I wholeheartedly love and recommend this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Oh my goodness. This book is a rollercoaster. We know going into this that there will be grief and sadness in this story (the author tells us right before the book begins that her best friend dies) but what I didn’t expect is also to feel moments of joy and laughter and then in the end, closure. Haddie and her word vomit, killed me. She is just so unapologeticly herself. Beau is deeply unprepared for the tornado that is Haddie but wow, once his eyes are opened to her, he can’t look away and we know he’s never going to be able to walk away from her. Haddie’s relationship with her parents and siblings is so relatable and I’m sure that even though this relationship is deeply toxic, the main idea of unsupportive parents isn’t an uncommon feeling. Now in regards to the death of her friend, I feel like the author did this so well, where we were right there too, but also were along for the ride while she healed. And in the end, also felt closure and joy that Haddie was able to grow more as a person after. Beau is the rock she needed through all of this and was so sweet. This book will make you laugh and cry but also leave your heart so full.

heartbreaking & healing

"𝒴𝑜𝓊'𝓇𝑒 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑒𝓁𝓈𝑒, 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉, 𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓅𝓎 𝑔𝒾𝓇𝓁?"

Oh wow where do I start? This author really knows how to tear out my heart and piece it back together. I devoured this book, it was phenomenal 🤍

This book destroyed me. It hit so close to home. I found myself laughing, crying, more laughing, more crying and then swooning. So many emotions, I absolutely loved it. You can tell this author put a lot of love into this book. Grief is hard. Reading about the authors real life experience, the characters, relating to my own. It was just beautiful how it was all put together.

Haddie was hilarious. I laughed so much at the banter between her and Beau. I absolutely loved these two together. Probably one of my favorite couples. I loved how he never tried to change her, gosh what a top tier book boyfriend!

This book will hurt but it was so beautiful. The writing is just amazing and ugh I feel like I could talk about it forever.

Another amazing read from this author, grab your tissues. 🤍

Heat level: 3/5. I had the absolute pleasure of editing this book and since it was still being written when I started, I DID sometimes bug the author for the rest of it XD This one isn't as heavy as ATONE or BREAK, but there is quite a sad part to it and if you're not dead inside like I am, you'll definitely need tissues handy. If you've lost a loved one, check the note at the story's beginning because it could be a lot. This beautiful story was such a great read and Haddie's word vomit and epic toasts were super funny. Beau steps up for his woman through her grief, which is amazing to read. This story helps you realize that even when your world gets dark, the sun shines again and you make it through. Thank you for trusting me with this story and I hope you all love it!

What sets this book apart is its ability to balance heartache with moments of genuine humor. The author masterfully infuses light-heartedness into the narrative, reminding readers that laughter can be a powerful coping mechanism during difficult times. The witty banter between Haddie and Beau brings a sense of joy even in the face of adversity. The writing style is captivating, with vivid descriptions that transport readers into the world of the characters. The author's ability to evoke a range of emotions through their words is truly remarkable. Everyone needs to read this just make sure you have tissues at the ready!

Ever read a book that was so good that you can't stop thinking about it? Where the characters are ingrained into your soul?
Not? Then you need to read this book!!!
Laugh is a book about love, friendships, loss, and healing. It's also a book with so much more than meets the eye.
Haddie is a whirlwind of a character and Beau is her consistent. He stands up for her with her family and ensures that they are held accountable for how they treat Haddie.
This book has a rom-com feel but it will completely wreck you, the author has this amazing talent to build you back up again.
This is by far a favorite read of the year for me and will most definitely be reread.

So I finished this book a few days after it was launch.
This book took me on such a whirlwind of emotions its difficult to describe. All the jokes, made me laugh and giggle. I loved the interactions between the main characters. And when the story broke me leaving me in a puddle of tears and emotions, your words then brought me back with the biggest smiles.
Your writing I honestly love to bits and cannot wait for everything else you publish. This book was a true embodiment of Laugh - how its the small things that can slowly bring you back.
This story was amazing - those wanting to know whether its worth it. JUST DO IT. you won't regret it

Beautiful

This book is heartbreakingly beautiful. The relationships - between Haddie and Beau, Marcus, Addie, Marcus' parents, Haddie's dad and stepmom and her siblings - ALL the relationships are just written SO well. Is there spice? Definitely, but this book is all about the emotion. I'm not a crier and I cried. I'm also not one to reread anything but my favorite books, and I can see this one being added to my very short list. Thank you, S.E. Green, for this fantastic novel!!!

4.5 stars for the tear fest. Seriously. I sobbed. The author explains why you'll cry in the front matter, but I mean I ugly cried. Couldn't breathe. Apart from the sobbing, I also really loved Beau and Haddie. His happy girl (swoon on the nickname) was going through it with family and then with her grief and Beau was a rock.

This was a different read than the other Dissonance Series books. I loved it. It felt very Colleen Hoover like. The romance was hot. Marcus’ character was enduring. The journey made me cry and relate to the loss. Well done!

This book has destroyed me and healed me all in one. This story was beautiful and captivating. We see the true raw emotions of a person who lost their other piece, who witnessed her soulmates/her twin flame deteriorate right in front of her. We see the FMC break and repair herself with the help of the MMC.
💖The dedication of the book made me cry and truly hope that she may be watching other her family and sister. 💖
We meet Haddie who is an erotic artist with a BIG imagination. She is a free spirited person who never judges anyone and just lives her life to the fullest. Beau is a down to earth type of person who just wants the best for the team he coaches. They meet in a bar but tbh it wasn’t the typical love at first sight🤣🤣🤣
The description Haddie gives was HILARIOUS 🤣
Not gonna lie Beau made me hate him for a few chapters. He was just very judgmental about things that made her, her but later on we see that thats just a part of him that he learns to change and speak up a bit more.
I want to say more but can’t because I’ll spoil everything and I honestly believe that this will be the BEST BOOK you’ll read!!

oh man, this one hurt

I really didn’t know what to expect with this one because I barely read the blurb before I dove right in, but I was still prepared for the hurt. And oh man, did it hurt. I caught on pretty quickly, but it didn’t prepare me any more for the emotions it brought to the surface. I absolutely LOVED Haddie and her endearing personality. I was obsessed with Beau from the start because he was never “the bad guy” like a majority of MMCs end up being in love stories. Their story was raw and real and painful but also strong and captivating. I loved everything about them, and even more when everything came to a head. Her quick wits and sassy commentary kept me giggling because she was so goofy, and I loved everything second of it.
