This book is enthralling and features another great love story as well as intriguing, twisty suspense. This is India (Indy) and Ice’s story. She is a CIA analyst and suspected traitor. He is the man who has been brought in by the CIA and Darkwater to interrogate her. His expertise in interrogation has had many a man spilling his secrets and earned him his code name of Ice. Using his skills on a woman is new for him and even he thinks there could be a problem. Raised to respect and protect women, breaking one down during an interrogation goes against the grain. So does taking care of her in the fashion he has used when necessary with the men he had interrogated in the past. Though his head tells him to bail, that something isn’t right, his instincts or intuition tell him to proceed with his mission.
Ice soon discovers that the woman he has come to question is just his type of woman. Not only a looker, Indy is smart, articulate and stands her ground. She certainly keeps Ice on his toes. She also makes it hard to control the attraction he has felt since he first saw and disarmed her. It is a battle of wits and words between them once he establishes his authority over the situation. It doesn’t take long for doubts of Indy’s guilt to creep in before everything takes a turn for the worse and he finds himself not only defending himself but protecting her. Next they are fleeing the scene and their story becomes a series of dangerous incidents and twists, not knowing who to trust and trying to find out what is going on, who is behind it and how do they get out of this situation alive. Of course the mystical way their names align like the couples in the previous books in this series have done is played up in this book too. Forced proximity, running for their lives and their fierce attraction soon leads to stolen steamy encounters and much deeper feelings. They have to stay alive to claim a future with each other.

Another CIA/Darkwater chronicle of unexplainable and intriguing events India is suspected of being a traitor so Kaiser, Director of the CIA has sent one of Benson’s Darkwater men to interrogate her to get to the truth. Ice has a reputation of being able to get anybody to talk without torture, using only mental manipulation. Doesn’t work on Indy as she is a CIA analyst and has been through significant training herself. Of course, we meet our “letter I couple” in Indy and Ice. The intrigue is thrilling and the back stories are amazing. Cover is a perfect Ice. I miss Ms. Winters older books when the alpha male meets his strong but submissive woman to make the villain rue the day that he came across the power couple. As much as I enjoyed this book, I wish Ms. Winters had condensed the story to the action with only a wee bit of the “woo-woo” or fate, destiny and providence mumbo-jumbo. Sorry to say but I began skipping paragraphs. One reason for the length is that her villain in this story is Indy’s father and a CIA man too. Then we add the additional bad guy in Diego Vargas, well you can see there was a lot happening in this one book. The author even says herself on page 708 (!): “this mission was different, more complex, with far more players involved, way bigger stakes.” Having said all this, I still plan on reading Jack’s story next. I just hope that there will be fewer philosophy lessons coupled with her normal amount of captivating intrigue. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
What an amazing addition to the Darkwaters Series! Ice and Jack are the most recent additions to the Team and Ice is sent to interrogate a female operator, India not knowing how it will play out. Getting to the location in a country with no USA support and gets minimal support. Things get intense from the first step into the building. They end up fleeing together after a failed attempt on India’s life from a sloppy Wet Team. Benson is in the back ground with Kaiser and a new villain, Rhett. When Benson’s past with Rhett comes full circle all the steps he took to turn it around in his favor are put to the test with Ice and India the center of those long ago decisions. Those decisions set a course of actions that will have their live turned upside down and facing their past in the most unimaginable way possible. Making the choice to face her past India and Ice go in to end this conflict with the hope of coming out together. Ice is one special man and makes a last minute decision to ensure an ending giving them that chance! Darkwater is still in the game to get the Governor to the White House! This is the 9th book in the Darkwater Military Romance Thrillers series featuring the intriguing, mind-blowing, dark and steamy, twisted seductive thriller between Mike "Ice" Wagner and India "Indy" O'Donnell. India works for the CIA and she is suspected of being a traitor so the director of the CIA Kaiser sends Darkwater in to interrogate India and to get the truth. Enter the "Ice" man Mike the former Delta who is interrogating his 1st female target on this mission for Darkwater. He knows that there's more going on here than meets the eye from all of his years as a Delta operative and that he has to figure it out fast otherwise they'll both be dead. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this intriguing, mind-blowing, dark and steamy, twisted seductive thriller to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Interrogating India is another compelling story in the Darkwater series. It sets the record for both length and plots within plots. As with previous couples, their instant attraction and connection drives the action. Only this time, the stakes are incredibly high not just for Indy and Ice, but for the puppet-master Benson, the CIA and their country, when past choices come back to haunt them all. There were twists I could see coming, but others that came completely out of left field. A riveting, fast-paced, adrenaline-inducing read that is impossible to finish in one sitting, but will keep pulling you back until the end - which is a HEA for the leading couple, but only another milestone in the story of the Darkwater team.

Interrogating India is the ninth book in the Darkwater Miltary Romance series. What a ride this one takes us on! It has all the insta love trappings of the first eight books, and we see a side to Benson and Kaiser that brings a bit of mystery and wonder to the story. We also learn things about the CIA that will make you wonder if those peculiarities are true or something the author made up but probably didn't.
Ice is an alpha through and through, and in many ways, so is India. He and his brother Jack are both new to Darkwater but not new to the world of shadows. India's story is the one that makes this book such a suspenseful thrill ride. Bring on book ten!

Good book but long and drawn out in several places. The virtual voice reading was terrible. Monotone and a lot of mistakes in pronunciation of words. Would recommend that you read book in series sequence.
Her past is coming back and will put them both in danger
Interrogating India is the ninth book in the Darkwater Military Romance Thrillers series. I will note that this series has been renamed several times but the team is still intact. This story is about India "Indy" O'Donnell and Mike "Ice" Wagner. They meet when he is sent to interview the CIA analyst to find out if she is actually a traitor, which she insists she is not. This is not the story that I was expecting and it does have a convoluted plot, with a lot of twists, turns, and an alternate reality. I will say that while I did like the story I was not as into it as previous books in the series. I think it had to do with the sheer length of this tome, as just could not stick with it from start to ending and instead found myself putting it down to go read other books and then picking it back up for another go. This is my opinion only so take it for what it may be worth to you. As if you love the series then grab Indy and Ice's story and dig in to make up your own mind.
The author has given us a heart pounding story that pulls us into the lives of Ice and India. The story keeps us turning the pages with suspense, connection, danger and action.
