Pierre Ryder is not your average Jesuit missionary. He's able to ride the meanest horse, run for miles without tiring, and put a bullet in just about any target. But now he's on a mission of vengeance to find the man who killed his father. The journey will test his endurance to its utmost--and so will the extraordinary woman he meets along the way. Jacqueline "Jack" Boone has all the curves of a lady but can shoot better than most men. In the epic tradition of Riders of the Purple Sage, their story is one for the ages.

Max Brand, one of America's most popular and prolific novelists and author of such enduring works as Destry Rides Again and the Doctor Kildare stories, died on the Italian front in 1944.
MB. has. penned a western adventure that begins with yhe death of the father if a Jesuit Priest. The young man is not a stranger to death, but he is a stranger to the death and destruction he encounters as he hunts for his fathers killers. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Pierre is perfect; his magic cross gives him good luck but his nearest and dearest suffer bad luck. Give cross to tomboy Jack for next book and she gets magic.
Max Brand was a favorite of my youth. Max Brand trying his hand at a weird sort of Mills and Boone romance. The second half of book reads horribly. I wish I hadn't read this book.
