Kentucky Green #3

Braxton: Tierno romance (Kentucky Green (Español))

Rate this book

Etta Sinclair’s granddaughter, child of her son Tyler who was killed in action while deployed, makes a surprise visit to meet her grandparents for the first time. Taylor Aaronson just wants to get to know her father’s family on her terms since her mother won’t tell her anything other than who her dad was and where he was from. What started as a trip to “get to know her grandparents” soon morphed into falling in love with Elm Ridge and inheriting a retired stallion who’s quite a stud but timid after being abused by his previous owner.

Braxton Green is the local vet. He helps his family’s neighbor, Etta, with her animals since her husband passed away five years ago. Etta has a stable with several horses, including Taylor’s Chick and a handful of others. He insists it is unsafe for Taylor to ride Chick because he just won’t allow anyone to ride him and bucked and injured the last person who tried.

Taylor’s been working with Chick in her own way. She’s also getting to know her grandmother and neighbors. Brax asks her out for dinner and for a tour of their little town. The two seem to hit it off great, at least until sensitive topics come up and one of them isn’t prepared to deal with at the moment. They seem to both want to grow their friendship and then pushing the other away.

It’s when Brax asks Taylor for her assistance at a farm quite a distance away with cleaning up their hoard of animals the previous owners had meant to save but couldn’t handle the load of them. They agreed to give them up and allow the animals to be adopted. Taylor and Etta both arrive to help Brax and the other veterinarians and volunteers. Brax and Taylor see one another in a new light and understand of each other.

Will Taylor and Braxton allow their relationship to bloom? What will happen to all the animals? Where do they go from here?

One drawback is that the cover for this book has Taylor a blonde while the story reads that she has black hair. This is my one drawback. Except, I believe there’s been a cover change. However, I cannot seem to find the updated cover posted anywhere. It’s the one reason Braxton by Olivia Sands is a 4 out of 5 tiaras for me.

This book has such an emotional beginning, it had me in tears, missing my own grandmother.

Taylor Aaronson just knocked on her grandmother's door for the first time in her life. After they turned away her mother over 20 years ago when she was pregnant with Taylor she isn't sure what kind of reception she will receive. Surprised at the welcome she receives Taylor's is immediately welcomed by a grandmother filled with sorrow and regret, a grandmother wanting more than anything to have her granddaughter in her life permanently. But it seems there is someone else near to her grandmother that isn't so accepting, someone who may have ulterior motives for keeping Taylor away.

Braxton Green is the only veterinarian in all of Elm ridge County and, although work keeps him very busy, he still finds time to keep a close eye on his neighbor, Etta Sinclair. When he realizes who has shown up at her house he becomes very protective of the elderly lady. Probably more so than he has a right, but he won't allow a granddaughter who has never bothered to visit take advantage of his friend and neighbor.

Braxton has no idea why Taylor's mother kept her from her grandparents all these years and he questions her timing showing up now, while Taylor is very suspicious of Braxton's motives and his warnings. Through all the lack of trust between these two they will have to find a way to get along for the sake of one old woman they both love.

Braxton’s story, 3rd in the Kentucky Green series, drives home the old “3rd time’s the charm”!

Taylor came to the Ridge to meet her grandparents. Sadly she was too late for her grandpa, but Grandma Etta was there to welcome her into her home and heart. A misunderstanding had deprived her of growing up with these loving grandparents and the horses her grandpa loved. However, Grandpa left her his favorite horse, with whom she immediately fell in love. Braxton Green, vet and neighbor of Etta’s, was initially suspicious of Taylor’s motives, but soon realized her intentions were strictly honorable. Very soon the two were having serious feelings for one another. An appearance here and there of the Greens met in the 2 earlier volumes was quite enjoyable. My only criticism was that I wasn’t ready for the story to end!

Taylor Aaronson shows up at her grandmother's door to meet her and is welcomed with open arms. They begin to build a relationship and try to make up for lost time.
At the same time, Braxton Green works a few days at Etta Sinclair's ranch taking care of her animals, as he is the town vet.
The attraction between Taylor and Braxton is immediate, but both suspect the real intentions for which the other is there and, without trust, things cannot end very well.
I loved reading about the connection between Chick and Taylor, since their relationship is based on a lot of trust as well.
Over time, Taylor and Braxton learn to respect and trust each other, but will they be able to carry on a relationship, or will distrust prevail and tear them apart?
I loved the story, the characters and being able to see the characters from the other books again. I highly recommend the reading.

Taylor and Braxton don’t start out on the best footing and their relationship has its rocky moments. He tries to control her by preventing her from riding the traumatized horse she inherited from her grandfather. He can’t see that she’s been working slowly to earn the horse’s trust. Taylor was immature at times, being upset when Braxton doesn’t call or visit right away and coming to assumptions about him without knowing all the facts. They both had to overcome trust issues to move forward with their relationship. I loved how passionate he was working with his animal clients and working to help save hundreds of animals from a hoarding situation. The little dog Ginger that Taylor rescues from the hoarders sounds like a sweetheart despite all she went through.

I had previously read Colton and Jaxon's stories and was looking forward to reading Braxton's. He's the towns vet and thinks he's too busy for romance. When he meets Taylor, Etta's long lost granddaughter, he is suspicious of her intentions. They have a rocky start to say the least. This story takes us on their journey of growth - hers as a member of the community and owner of a horse who had been badly treated. They help each other, despite Braxton's insistence that the horse is beyond help and can't be ridden. She has her own suspicions of Braxton, but their relationship grows over the course of the story. A sweet story of growth and romance for these two. Looking forward to reading Weston's story.

Book 3 in the Kentucky Green series..when Taylor comes to visit her grandmother who she
has never met she hopes for the best. She’s welcomed with open arms. Not at all what she expected
from Etta Sinclair. Sad she never did get to meet her grandfather who passed away. When her grandmother surprised her with a horse he left her. One thing was the horse had issues.
But she was determined to work with him.
When she met Braxton Green the vet and good friend to her grandmother he made her mad at times.
They had an interesting realtionship.

I loved this book. Second chances. So very heartwarming and heartbreaking.
So funny moments too..

Each book is A standalone.

Braxton and Taylor

This is another great addition to the Kentucky Green series. Taylor comes to Elm Ridge to get to know her grandparents. She didn’t know that her grandfather had passed away about five years ago. Her grandparents regretted turning Alice, Taylor’s mom, away and Etta is so happy to see Taylor. Braxton thinks Taylor is just trying to get what she can get, lol. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I really enjoyed this story, especially reading about the connection between Chick and Taylor.

Mieux

Ce tome est un peu mieux que les précédents. Un peu plus étoffé, mais, il y manque encore un petit effort. Des situations qui se terminent en queue de poisson.

Mostly liked it. Braxton was annoying at times, but Taylor called him on it and he apologized, so that helped.

What girl doesn’t want her own horse? A story about putting aside hurt and misunderstandings to find acceptance and love. A very sweet, entertaining read. Not only does the girl get the horse, but finds her future. Sweet one with an HEA.
