“You know your crimes, Carlee… and now you’ll pay.”
Tech genius Carlee Knight became a private investigator to ensure her cozy lakeshore hometown was never torn apart by the evil appetites of a serial killer ever again. But when the mutilated bodies of young girls begin to appear in Harborside—killed in exactly the same way as Carlee’s long-dead twin brother—there is only one horrifying conclusion.
All signs point to the dark reality that Carlee’s old nemesis, the notorious Eighth-Grade Killer, has risen from the shadows to reignite their reign of pure terror.
Joined by her companions, the hotblooded Chicago police detective Zack West and the ever-unpredictable FBI special agent Ian Garnett, Carlee must follow a trail of bloody clues in a desperate bid to stop the killings before more innocent Harborside girls are brutally murdered. As she dashes through the old haunts of her hometown, from the sleazy marina to the whispering hallways of her old high school, Carlee herself is chased by an even more threatening foe.
A vengeful stalker shadows her every step, hounding her with threats, until Carlee’s worst fear finally comes true. Her hidden enemies finally strike, and someone she loves pays the price.
The Harborside Killer is the sixth book of Katy Pierce’s Harborside Secrets mystery series, where each new twist leads to a shocking truth, and a dark secret lurks behind every character’s smile.
Katy is an outspoken, cynical, born and raised New Yorker, that’s not afraid to aim her writing where others steer clear of. In a perfect world, Katy'd be writing books 24/7, since it’s the ultimate opportunity for her to blend her most twisted and thrilling thoughts with her passion for creating page-turning novels for her readers. With every new book of hers that gets published, she feels she can breathe just a little bit deeper, so, she vows to keep at it for as long as humanly possible, for as long as her audience will have her, and for as long as her husband and two kids don’t vote against her in their secret weekly tribal council.
Private Investigator Carlee Knight will never give up searching for the Eighth-Grade Killer. When young women in Harborside are found murdered in the same way as Carlee’s twin brother, she believes the Eighth-Grade Killer is killing again. Is the Eighth-Grade Killer back or is it a copycat?
Carlee is still working with Chicago police detective Zack West and FBI special agent Ian Garnett to solve the case. The three of them try to work together to find the killer; however, Zack and Ian still don’t get along. Zack warns Carlee not to trust Ian and Ian warns Carlee not to trust Zack. She decides to go out on her own rather than listen to them. Who should Carlee not trust Zack or Ian?
Carlee is still being stalked. Is it the Eighth-Grade Killer, someone else or both stalking her? Will Carlee fall into a trap? Who betrays Carlee? Are there consequences for the betrayal? Will Carlee survive?
I will say I was surprised to find out who the Eighth -Grade Killer was and definitely upset about who betrayed Carlee. The ending is well, you just need to read the book to find out.
The Harborside Killer has drama, suspense, anger, grief, unbelief, terror and believe it or not happiness. I recommend you start with book one, The Eighth-Grade Killer; however, you don’t have to but it will help you understand the characters better.
Amazing thrilling tense perfect story . I loved every page/word and enjoyed this genius plot and finale. Oh my who would guess? Katy you are a master writer/ killer. You know your job. This was the best of the beat. This deserves #1 on Amazon. I hope we are not saying goodbye to Carlee. I love her and her investigation methods including mess ups. Thank you for this exceptional story . It was so emotional .👏👏👏
OMG!!!!!!!!!! When I finally got to read this book, I couldn't put it down. I read it from cover to cover and loved every minute of it. You will never figure out who the Eighth-grade killer is. I never expected it to be this person. I feel bad for what happened to Ian the FBI agent) but that was because he focused on Carlee and didn't keep an opened mind. You have to read this book, you will love it.
Talk about twists and turns. Has Carlee finally figured out who the 8th Grade Killer is or is the person currently killing a copy cat? And, if a copy cat, where does that leave her except possibly fighting for her life. Someone will betray her, someone will be there to pick up the pieces, but who?
Loved this book and the series. I am a bit sad it ended. I never saw that ending coming. Should have guessed who the killer was but I did not guess. I also did not see the ending with Ian. I was a bit disappointed by that. I highly recommend reading this book and series. I thank Mary Stone for asking us to read Katy Pierce's books. I am so glad I did.
Oh my goodness!!! This has to be one of the best books I’ve ever read!!! Carlee is traipsing all over the place trying to find the latest killer! She gets herself caught up in dangerous situations again. Ian & Zach are at each other’s throats again, Her secretary is attacked.. The ending will blow your mind!!! Please don’t let this be the end of this series!!!!
Throughly enjoyed the series, and this book was no different. There was a twist that I was not expecting, and the killer and his/her rationale for the killings was well thought out and believable.
I'm going to miss this series. I hope there are more books by this author soon
THE HARBORSIDE KILLER, picks up where the The DRIVE-BY KILLER ended and is the sixth and final installment in the Harborside Secrets series by Katy Pierce. I really like the close timeline between installments. There are suspects, secrets and deception along with some very twisted and messed up characters. Get ready for another well-written, page turning, and complicated murder mystery thriller that will keep you reading and guessing to the surprise ending.
Carlee, Zach and Ian are have different ideas on how to investigate the latest crime spree and how finding the Eighth-Grade Killer. So, with Zack and Ian arguing and telling Carlee to not trust the other one, Carlee decides to go solo in her search for the killer. It's not long before she soon decides this was not her best idea.
I was close but wrong in figuring out who the Eighth Grade Killer really was. I was also shocked to find out who would betray Carlee in the end.
What a dramatic end to this riveting series. I did receive a copy this series installment from the author and this is my honest and freely given review. Now I'm waiting to finding out what Ms Pierce has planned next.
The 8th Grade Killer was back in Harborside, and the town was going to remember what it was like to be afraid. A fresh victim was found right next to Carlee’s childhood home. But the killer wasn’t stopping there. He was going after everyone Carlee was close to. The thing was that maybe this wasn’t the 8th Grade Killer again, like in the previous books, which always had a totally different killer. But if it wasn’t the 8th Grade Killer, then who was doing this? Computer-whizz Carlee was set to find out.
Meanwhile, the 8th Grade Killer was getting closer and closer to revealing himself to Carlee. Will we finally meet him? Will Carlee get the shock of her life when she does? You just have to find out.
What an exciting and climactic ending! Didn’t see that one coming. A perfect end to the series!
Holy Mackerel!! What an exciting conclusion to this series! There were so many things I didn't see coming, and I couldn't put it down. Carlee is still on the trail of the Eighth Grade Killer, but new deaths are happening. She, Zack, and Ian are trying to solve this before any more die. I hope we see more of Carlee.
This is the second series from Katy Pierce that I have read. I put her right up there with Mary Stone and Willow Rose. She has a way of drawing you into the story. Her characters become lifelike even. Twists and turns that keep you coming back for more. Eagerly awaiting her next series!
Read all 6 in record time! The Author did a great job hiding who the Killer was. Total shocker on Ian! There are multiple story lines that eventually tie together. I. E. Mandy.
I couldn’t put the Book down and when I did I had to hurry back to read more. Katy Pierce…… Thank you!
even though this series was only a 3 star series for me, i am going to miss it. will i remember it forever? no, probably not.
the ending of this was absolutely insane and not at all what i expected, but it was good! i love the characters, and i will miss them, but overall, this series was just something quick and easy to read in between other books for me.
Unputdownable!! I read it straight through. Something told me that one of the men in Carlee’s circle would wind up betraying her. But I was still very surprised at which, and how…no, I’m not going to tell! The real kicker though was finding out who is the killer(s), is it one or more??? If you want the answers you’ll just have to read it. But, start at the beginning with The 8th Grade Killer, The Showcase Killer, The Two-Faced Killer, & The Drive-By Killer so that you will fully appreciate the entire history of the Harborside Secrets. Keep the books coming Katy!!!!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for honest feedback.
This book keeps the momentum of the previous books and brings the series to a satisfying end. There are plenty of twists and turns, and things that were hinted at in previous books come to fruition.
This was a great book to close the series. Lots of twists and turns and oh my gosh moments. Definitely an edge of your seat page turner. Sad to see it come to an end, but it was an awesome ending. I am an ARC member, and this is my honest review.
Wow this was a real nail biter and has some very unexpected twists that I did not expect. This was a great conclusion to the chase for the Eighth Grade Killer. Can’t wait to see what Carlee gets involved with next.
All good things must come to an end but this was so sad. Carlee Knight solved the case but loses a piece of her heart. With the many twists and turns we find a few shocking zags. Another good turnout from Katy Pierce.
Great read, it ties up incidents from past books. Carlee, Zack and lan don't appear to play well in the sandbox. Zack and Ian have both warned Carlee to not trust the other one. Carlee decides to do her search for the killer by herself,
This was the best one of the series! Unbelievable conclusion! I usually have at least an idea of the conclusion. Not this time. If you love suspense and mystery! Read this series! I have found a new favorite writer!
This was outstanding book with lots of suspense and action and the question who the eighth grade killer is answered . This series about Carlee is excellent and I enjoyed this book. Thank you for being a wonderful writer.
This series was one of the best I've read. I enjoyed them all. Kind of bittersweet. I am so glad to finally know everything, but feel like I am really going to miss them. A great author!
I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this series. Every time I thought I had it figured out the plot would twist. Great writing and great characters.
This book and the series kept me up all night! I loved Carlee and Zack! Watching them be together was a fabulous ending after all they went through! Hats off to Katy Pierce! I loved this series! I can’t wait to read more!
Katy Pierce wrote a great story in The Harborside Killer. It was interesting and complex with the FBI, Chicago PD, along with a PI, all investigators trying to find The Harborside Killer. The ending is shocking! #KatyPierce #TheHarborsideKiller
I thought this series was great. I finished the six books in like three days. I did guess who the killer was in the end but I didn't guess the other plot twist. Definitely a nice, easy, winter break kind of mystery read. 😀
So good!!! I’m bummed I finished the series, I’m gonna miss Carlee. I’m not totally shocked by what happened with Ian. #teamzach . I do feel bad for him though. On the other hand I’m happy Carlee and Zach are having their happy ending.
