This was the book used for one of my beginner quilt making classes and I didn't find it to be all that useful. To start, most of the quilts are fairly unattractive, so they are largely uninspiring. Then instead of giving directions for backing and basting, and putting together the quilt sandwich, they only give these instructions for about 3 of the quilts in the entire book and then refer you to those instructions for other different quilts. And I didn't find the instructions all that useful-for example the quilt I ended up making is the Charm Quilt example. Now know that most quilt stores sell fabric that is 44 inches wide at most. Under the "From Backing fabric, cut: 1 -47" x47" piece. (Some quilt stores now carry wide backs for fabrics but they are largely the exception and not the rule.) I didn't find it especially beginner-user friendly.
