This was one of my favorite books as a child! Of course it was mostly because it had my name which, at the time, wasn't very common. I remember how special it made me feel & made me excited for my first day of school.
i just use to love this book when i was younger because it had my real name in it (Amanda). but it is also really great for younger students who are going to school for the first time and are scared. it could help them cope.
As a child I adored the art style of this book. I would read and have it read to me over and over, wondering what it would be like to go to school one day when I was older. I even asked for blackberries and honey in a bowl of cream as per Amanda's first day of school breakfast!!
I'm clearing out my old childhood books, but this one I don't think I can part with just yet - the illustrations are far too charming
