Unlike other comparable books from this era on the diocesan priesthood, this one is a bit more grounded, due mainly to its biographical nature. The author often moves from the virtues of a particular saintly priest into an exhortation or commentary on the need for those virtues in the world. An easy and insightful read.
Good to read about lesser known saints that were diocesan priests. But the author writes in a lot of anti-religious life propaganda. He seems to have a lot of malformed ideas about the religious life and is really trying to sell you on diocesan life.
