Nothing spectacular again, just a nice quick listen! Nothing really thriller about it… kinda just like a crime show very drawn out.

This was a fast-paced, cat-and-mouse kind of thriller that had me turning pages late into the night—though I’ll admit, some of the plot beats felt a bit familiar if you’ve read a few serial killer thrillers before.

The main character is driven, a little flawed (just how I like them), and the suspense builds nicely. I wouldn’t say it completely blew me away, but it did scratch that itch for a gritty, high-stakes mystery with enough twists to keep you guessing.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, suspenseful ride with some dark turns and a determined female lead, this one’s worth the read. Bonus points for the pacing—it never really lets up.

Tightening Up
I've had a few minor issues with the earlier books in this series. They were small annoyances that I hoped would resolve themselves. I liked the characters and the complexity of the storylines, so I stayed with Harley Cole.

Sure enough, the characters are smoothing out the rough edges, working together well, and the plot on this one was great. Both Harley and her FBI partner have their demons, and they're getting better about sharing this info with each other. That's really not so uncommon. It seems to be a driving force for many who get into law enforcement. That sense that they were unable to right an injustice done to someone they loved, so they'll devote their lives to doing it for others.

These uncaped crusaders, especially Harley, show a much more seasoned approach in this novel as they hunt for a total psycho of a serial killer. Instead of jumping at shadows and pouncing on every person of interest as though they're the guilty party, the duo follows the leads, makes appropriate deductions, and throw themselves into harm's way again.

I'm so glad to see the improvement here. This series is becoming a good, solid crime read.

Audiobook. To me, it’s actually a 3.5-4.0. These books get better with each listen. This is third in the Kate Bold series I have listened to. I was glad I listened during the day because the story is creepy and would be even scarier if I listened at night. Interesting story. The dynamic between the main FBI characters gets better. If you like crime stories, this is a good one! And, I do like the continuation of the case on Harley’s sister. I want her to solve the case! The teasing of a potential story line hooks the reader, then disappoints when the case isn’t solved. On to the 4th book in the series……

Nowhere to Run is the third book in the Harley Cole series and the stories just keep on getting better. This time Harley and Callaway are tasked with a case that is quite difficult to break open until they receive unexpected help from a museum. This is a fast-paced story with well-defined characters that grasp the reader's attention from the beginning. I'm looking forward to reading the following book in this series.

This novel has a very clever plot. I found myself listening to this audiobook as much as possible without many breaks. I highly recommend this series. I love the relationship between Harley & Calloway as their partnership brings them closer. Usually I don’t enjoy novels with a running backstory but this series has me wondering what the outcome will be regarding Harley’s sister Kelly. I’m hooked and I’m already starting audiobook 4.

Another great read. I would like to hear more of her dating, but to put her sister to rest so let her unwrap the case. Let her be alive and Living a good life and her dad gets the closure. What a reach for a murderer. So sick that he thought of during and living with them. Had he ever heard of hell.
