Pioneering research and analysis by the eminent black sociologist, E. Franklin Edwards, is interesting to me, not for the sociological theory and methods, but last three sections of the post-WWII. The Negro Family, The Negro Middle Class, and The Negro and Desegregation contain findings familiar to me growing up at that time.
