Tired of having a mediocre career in Hollywood, along with an abusive agent, Kyla Winters comes back to St Louis to recoup, regroup and heal. Her homecoming is an answered prayer to Zweli Randall, the doctor who comforted her over her grandmother's death three years ago, and found himself falling in love with Kyla and asked her to marry him - only for her to say no.

The story charts Zweli and Kyla's relationship - both of these characters play fast and loose with other's hearts (especially Zweli), but when it comes to each other, they are like the bad kryptonite to Superman - weak and needy. The tension in this book is Kyla's resistance to thinking that Zweli's love for her is real, and Zweli's realisation that Kyla needs to prove herself to be worthy of him, because all the women that he's been with and surrounded himself with (including her family) are successful, while she isn't. The issues get worked out in the end, and you're left emotionally satisfied.

Kyla's dates were comical, and I found myself laughing to distress with her third date. You got the feeling that Kyla's sisters didn't like her at all - or liked Zweli enough to try and push her towards him by getting the strangest men they could find.

My only shortcoming with the book is how *crowded* it felt. What with the other sisters, and their spouses, and their children, it felt like a full house all the times they were sitting down at dinner or the odd family meeting. So when Christopher said something, I'm like, "Whose husband is he, what does he look like again? He's what?" and "Who's Danielle and what the hell is cashew coloured? (I'm from the West Indies, so I know of Cashew the reddish brown fruit, and cashew the seed)".

Oh, ignore the description of the characters on the cover. They are nothing like the people in the book. Cheers.

This is a well told love story from the beginning to the end, I took my time enjoying this book , I love how the author incorporates comedy in her story telling , I had so many laugh out loud moments people were looking at me like I was crazy. I liked the way the author showed me the characters Zweli and Kayla they had full lives with stories to tell and she showed them to me in a way that kept me interested until the very last page and I still wanted more . This book is so good I purchased the first book in the series which is not in Ebook format and the last book in this series . I like the fact that they can be read separately, but this family is one that I enjoy reading about and watching to see what happens next.

Mrs. Hubbard Did It Again!

Crystal Hubbard is one of my new favorite authors. I totally love the Winters family. You couldn't help but enjoy the romance between Zweli and Kyla. Mrs. Hubbard has a way of making the characters just leap off the pages. While reading this novel I was totally captivated, so much so, that I felt like I was right there in the midst of all the romance, drama, and comedy going on within the family. She truly knows how to spin a tale, that captures you from beginning to end. Can't wait to read more about the Winters family, their extended family and friends. Another Definite MUST Read!

I had no idea this was the second story in a series about the Winters family. This book tells the story of Kayla Winters, an actress that leaves Hollywood and returns to her hometown of St. Louis, and her ex, Dr. Zweli Randall. I enjoyed their antics, especially the mother.
