Siempre había querido leer la novela desde hace tiempo y por fin puedo hacerlo ahora que salió el manhwa. Pensé que me habría gustado, puesto que mencioné antes que no me gusta leer de mafia, pero por Rina es que ando ahí, agradezcan a mi esposa.


El primer volumen cuenta con 4 capítulos, y es extenso, por cierto. Cada capítulo muestra la misión que hace Kwon Taek-ju y por poco sale con vida. KTJ es enviado como un espía a Rusia usando la identidad de Hiro Sakamoto (que dura poco xD) para encontrar los planos de Anastasia, un arma ruso y conoce a su compañero llamado Zenya (no sé cuál es la traducción correcta, puesto que leo con mtl).

Me da pena por el bottom porque siempre sale algo mal su misión, sobre todo en el capítulo 4, lmao eso me dejó petrificado. No me esperaba que Zenya cogiera a una mujer en frente de Taek-ju, que incluso el pelinegro se une y hacen un trío, no entendí muy bien, pero fue raro JAJAJAJA porque al día siguiente todo sale mal y Taek-ju cae desmayado y siente un déjà vu. Supongo que comienza el secuestro (?) Ojalá se aclare más en el segundo vol porque no entendí ni pincho. Eso sí, es muy obvio que Zenya es parte de la mafia xD

No estuvo mal, pero no me gusta que un capítulo sea muy largo, me estreso horrible y me da bloqueo, si fuera dividido, entonces OK, pero aquí era eterno JDFOAUSDIOFA y me dormía muchas veces. Le pondré 2 estrellas, rezo que en los siguientes volúmenes mejore mucho.

Let me be honest. It is so boring. Both mc are hot YES but the story is just so boring for me, yet this is only volume 1 maybe i need to try read volume 2 🤷🏻‍♀️

Disclaimer! There aren't many reviews of this book so if someone happens to stumble upon this then just a note that this is just my personal notes since Goodreads still has a VERY limited private notes section and that will just NOT work for me.

But well I feel kind of like a cheater, adding this to my read list but I did read a bit at the end once I got past the point that chapter 30 of the manhwa had covered and it would bug me to no end if I only had #2-5 on my list but not #1! So well I've resigned myself to being a bit of a cheater and hey it makes up for me counting the 1000+ page behemoth of Heaven Official's Blessing as only one book despite spending months on it sooooo...

Anyways, to the contents - I've been seeing mumblings of this couple and specifically Zhenya for months so I finally caved and read the 30 manhwa chapters that were out but it just wasn't enough! I had a strong hunch about the mystery going on from even the beginning and the manhwa wasn't even really trying to hide it so when I found a translation online, I figured it was time to dive right in! (Though it still profoundly baffles me that this novel has multiple better than machine translations out and Passion/Diaphonic Symphonia are nowhere to be found TT I love Ilay and Taeui but man am I struggling through DeepL's paltry machine translation with all the I's and he's interchanged, although I'm grateful that I even have that option.)

Zhenya, my guy, is a menace. I kind of hate to hate him right now... The guy is absolutely nuts, incredibly shameless and pitifully unremorseful. I can only hope that I grow to love him and he grows to love Taekjoo because so far, the guy is disgustingly violent. And I do not mean that in any kind of complimentary way. Although it is kiiiind of interesting seeing him kind of baffled by his attraction to Taekjoo, I would love to see what's going through his mind.

And my boy Taekjoo, you pitiful soul... I can already tell you have a world of pain and suffering ahead of you. I love that he's so strong and self sufficient as a spy. He also has a backstory that draws some sympathy but I'd love for there to be a bit more that pulls us in as readers and truly makes us root for him as our MC.

I do like the plot too, which is definitely a bit more interesting that Passion, I'll give it that. But it will be nice to see if the author can maintain the balance between romance (?) and plot throughout the rest of the books (except for volume 5, which I understand and hope is fluff).

I hate Zhenya even more after reading season one but the season finale made me SO EXCITED just to be a massive cliffhanger. Like what happens after Taekjoo is in the room with the blueprints for Anastasia??? I NEED TO KNOW.

Also as much as I hate Zhenya for being the stinkiest annoying ass btch ever, I’m happy his stupid story and riddles actually helped Taekjoo figure out where the blueprint is but I doubt that he did that by accident.

I genuinely can’t wait for Taekjoo to get revenge even though I really don’t believe his gonna succeed due to spoilers. But I have a slimmer hope because it’s Taekjoo we’re talking about and obviously that man doesn’t play.

Also I wonder how the romance part of this story is gonna happen like AT ALL because we (as in Taekjoo and I) both think Zhenya is a piece of shit that needs to be flushed so I genuinely don’t think romance is gonna happen until all the revenge and that one island scene I got spoiled on happens. (AND IF TAEKJOO FALLS FIRST I BLAME STOCKHOLM SYNDROME BC TAEKJOO IS BLAMELESS).

Provavelmente é por causa do MTL mas eu entendo agora lendo a novel o pq o Taekju não conseguiu descobrir logo de cara que o Zhenya é um Bogdanov... Mas também diferente do manhwa, o interesse (sexual) do Zhenya no Taekju é bem mais "explícito", embora ele também seja muito mais indiferente aos perrengues do Taekju na novel do que no manhwa. Mas, novamente, o problema pode ser o MTL (já que estou lendo do coreano > pt na tradução mecânica), o que dificulta a leitura de algumas coisas por causa da tradução dos pronomes, então vira uma confusão...

This first volume was a good introduction, considering I went in fairly blind.

I love Taekjoo as a character, and I'm on the fence about Zhenya considering some things ive heared, but I was told I'd see a lot of character growth by the end of the story, so I guess I'll see how I feel after reading everything🤷‍♂️

A grandes rasgos, este primer tomo me aburrió mucho a pesar que los capítulos no son tan largos, pero hubo escenas interesantes cargadas de acción y... otras con contenido muy cuestionable que hicieron que valga la pena seguir hasta el final.

Zhenya está siendo un personaje que promete bastante, y espero con ansias saber más de él. Ojalá no decepcione.

مانهواش خیلی برام حوصله سر بر بود و به جز کرکترای هات چیز دیگه ای نداشت. اما رفتم چند تا از چپترای پایانی فصل یک رو توی ناولش خوندم و برام جذاب تر بود. معمولا بزرگترین مشکلم با مانهوا ها اینه که زیاد وقتی برای نشون دادن اون روند ایجاد عشق(بهتره فعلا اسمشو نذارم عشق واقعا) نمیزارن و انگار یهو جرقه میزنه و پرتابت میکنه تو داستان، برای همین چون تمام افکار کاراکتر ها رو میتونستم بخونم و اون روند رو *کمی* بیشتر حس کنم برام واقعی تر و طبیعتا جالب تر بود.
به همین علت شاید ادامش بدم و جلد دو رو هم بخونم🐤 هر چه باداباد.

The first book is really good, and the sorry is catching. It leaves us wanting more especially with the ending. I can’t wait to read the second one.
