Will it be love with a handsom noble or a haunting curse? Can love transcend betrayal?A modern-day Regency mystery romance! Allison Whitney, an American student in present day Oxford, England, was unaware someone had peeked into her rooms. They recorded her intimate actions and had big plans for that image. Allison was too engrossed in her architectural history thesis. She had hopes to examine a grand abandoned manor house that was closed up for decades. The locked manor was guarded by its present owner, who decades before, fearfully abandoned it to live in the gatehouse. In a rage, he swore to Allison the house would kill her and anyone who went into it. Allison did not believe in curses, and seized an opportunity to own it from a very willing surviving son. As the new mistress of Ashford Hall, she quickly discovered the house did have dark secrets and scandals… lots of them! Even long-awaited love and romance, when they finally arrived, came from completely unexpected quarters.
I totally enjoy the premise of the books written by PF Walsh even though they can be repetitive. I do think that the author needs to have at least one more person editing his books because there are really just too many editing mistakes. The story is so engaging that my eyes try to ignore the mistakes but they are there! I still rated this book five stars because it is simply a feel good read
