These handsome cats are noted for having extremely good natures, as well as for their handsome, thick and glossy coats. Here is advice on purchase, feeding, health care, and keeping a happy Himalayan.
If you are thinking of getting a Himalayan as your family pet, it would be a good idea to get this book to consult as it has so many helpful tips and hints on how to best care for your new floofy furbaby. I'm not even planning on getting a Himalayan and I took something from it should I ever decide to get one as a pet in the future.
I have a Himalayan cat - who was rescued from horrible circumstances. For two years I muddled along with her care, reading on forums and taking my vets advice on how to manage her long, long hair, tear stains etc. However it was when she needed teeth removed, that I decided to buy this book - and I'm so glad I did. I read up about dental care for the Himalayan (Extreme face) and how to hopefully prevent future dental problems.
If you're considering buying one of these cats, I advise you to do your research and know what you are in for. They do require significantly more care than your standard cat. I personally am not a fan of the Extreme face Himalayan appearance, and wouldn't have chosen to buy one - but I did adopt one, and love her anyway. However, that said, there is no doubt the extreme face has caused her difficulties. Despite this, hopefully armed with knowledge from this book I can minimise her difficulties in the future.
The author is clearly passionate about the Himalayans or 'Himmies' - and it is kind of infections. So if you have a Himalayan, or want one... this book is a must.
