Matthias Joseph Scheeben
79 books11 followersScheeben studied at the Gregorian University at Rome under Carlo Passaglia and Giovanni Perrone from 1852 to 1859 and lived in Collegium Germanicum. He was ordained to the priesthood on 18 December 1858. He taught dogmatic theology at the diocesan seminary of Cologne from 1860 to 1875.

An exhaustive treatise on grace...its origins, requirements and effects. This will kick start anyone who is lukewarm in the faith. I think this is considered a classic and must read by Roman Catholic priests that still believe in eternal life. It is not a fast and easy read due to its importance in ones spiritual health. It is not difficult to understand but it requires contemplation if you have not been catechized by a somewhat traditional parish.

If inspiration is what you seek and truth is of the essence then this book is for you. Never before has a book about such a profound topic been so easy to read and understand. And never has a book inspired me to want to stay in the state of and desire to grow in Grace more than this.
