Detective Whiskers is a cool cat sleuth! His human Dad was a detective and taught him how to put clues together and catch a criminal. His Dad has passed, and he and his human Mom live in a cottage on the beach. She and her friends are amateur sleuths, and Detective Whiskers helps them, along with all the animals he can talk to. He can’t talk to humans, though. He has a K9 dog friend, a mouse, and a blue heron. Fun cozy mystery with a great cast. Lots of humor!

Detective Whiskers is again on the case when Jimmy, a local fisherman reels in more than he bargained for. At the same time, Roddy, the mouse, welcomes two guests from Miami. Later a boat is discovered that appears to be the original location of the dead body Jimmy caught. The boat just happened to be carrying a shipment of illegal drugs, some of which washed up on the beach. There was also a stranger who arrived in town while all these discoveries were made.
Can the Paradise Cove Murder Society assist Detective Whiskers in sorting all the clues to solve the case? Can the Miami Mice, Phillip, and Micheal provide any insight into the latest happenings on the beach? Or will Chief Anderson throw the whole bunch of them in jail until he stops the cartel and catches a killer?
The stories in this series are so much fun. I love Detective Whiskers and that the story is told from his point of view. He keeps trying to communicate with his new person Sheila, like he did with his former person, Sheila’s detective husband Fred who passed away just prior to retiring and moving to Florida. There was one time he thought she finally understood but then she gave him a treat instead. He does enjoy all the treats and belly rubs but he has so many things to tell her to help her solve the case. He is able to communicate with Rodney, a mouse, a beach cat, named Zappa, and police dog, Kojak. There is also a special blue heron on the beach and now two mice from Miami to converse with. These conversations are hilarious.
The human get-togethers are fun too. The alcohol flows, it’s always the perfect time for a margarita or 3 when the Paradise Cove Murder Society is trying to figure out whodunit and why.
Mr. Abernathy has written another well-plotted mystery with twists and misdirection. The way he writes the story flows so smoothly that the pages just keep turning. Like the previous two books in this series, I read the story straight through in one evening. Intrigue one minute, laughing out loud the next, with emotional moments too.
Miami Mice is the cleverly written third book in the Detective Whiskers Cat Cozy Mystery Series. Refreshing, heartwarming, fun, and totally entertaining. A must-read for cozy cat lovers!

Sheila and her feline partner, Detective Whiskers, are getting used to retirement life in Paradise Cove, Florida. However, retirement has been anything but quiet. They’ve already come across a couple of dead bodies. Sheila even started the Paradise Cove Murder Society. A group of her new friends trying to solve murders in their community.
When Sheila’s neighbor finds a dead body when he’s fishing, the society is on the job. They are determined to find the killer. Meanwhile, Detective Whiskers discovers two mice from Miami who might be able to help with this case.
This is the third book in the series. It is told from the POV of Detective Whiskers. He tries very hard to get his human, Sheila, to understand him but it’s not happening. Instead, she gives him plenty of treats and belly rubs. Although frustrating to Whiskers, he does have the assistance of some of the animals in the area.
I totally love this series. I’m truly addicted. It makes me laugh while I try to figure out “whodunit”. It’s a cute cozy mystery series with fun characters. This series not only captivates me but makes me happy. I’m smiling long after the last page is swiped.

A cat detective
This book is so very unique and cute. Whiskers, the cat, tells the story. That in itself is worth a look. He is a detective, even having a badge on his collar. The story is filled with animals, as well as humans. Whiskers does the sleuthing, with help from Kojack the K9 and even some mice, as well as a very groovy cat who lives on the beach. Drug smuggling, death and more fill the pages with some interesting facts. Well worth the read!

Another Fun Adventure With Detective Whiskers
Book three of the series is just as much fun as the first two. I enjoyed reading most of story, I'm not a fan of withholding food from your cat because there's a mouse on the loose. But Detective Whiskers knows how to handle Sheila. I saw where this plot was going, but it was still fun reading as the events unfolded. An exciting conclusion.

Very cozy mystery and a very enjoyable read. "Detective Whiskers" caught my attention to begin with as a dedicated cat lover and this book has a lot of things going for it - mystery, coziness (as mentioned already), a very enjoyable story line...and lots and lots of cats.
Knowing about a shipment of illegal drugs means finding yourself in the Whiskers Protection Program. See what I mean?

Miami Mice book 3. Written by Chris Abernathy. That was an interesting read. That had some interesting pets in there that help Jason. I like pets in cozy books they make it interesting to read. I would recommend this book to anyone young or older it’s a feel good book with the twist & turns. It’s a 5 star book in my opinion. I will have to get more of these books.

A suspicious stranger, mice who have swum for their lives, and a bevy of margaritas will have you quickly turning the pages.
I really enjoy the Detective Whiskers Cat Cozy Mystery series. All of the books are funny, charming, and have a solid mystery at their core. MIAMI MICE has all these ingredients in spades. The overindulgence of alcohol by Sheila and her friends leads to hangovers, but also very funny scenes. Philip and Michael, the two mice who fell overboard are wonderful. I love how they try to protect each other and Roddy, showing bravery and providing several heartwarming moments.
There's a lot of mystery in the third Detective Whiskers Cat Cozy Mystery. Just who washed up on shore? Is a drug cartel about to invade Paradise Cove? Just who is the bad guy? I love how nothing is certain and appearances can be deceiving.

A fantastic addition to the series.
The characters are wonderful and evolving. The plot is twisty and interesting. The world building is great. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

Each cat mystery is better than the last. I am ready to purchase the next one and move on.
The best plot part is the problems whiskers has communicating with people. I love that he can talk to any animal.

These Detective Whisker books are so fun. The mysteries are good and the animals communicating to each other is so unique. Each one gets better. Highly recommend for a joyous read!
