Bones is BACK! The hero of Bones: The Complete Apocalypse Saga returns in this standalone tale of madness, mass murder, and mayhem. After a SWAT mission goes bad in the East Harlem projects, Bones, a law enforcement K9 on loan from the Pittsburgh Police Force, is rescued by a local family. Suspecting a recent series of horrific deaths are connected to a mysterious black mastiff who wanders the area like a ghost, the youngest member of the family enlists the semi-heroic shepherd to stop the beast before anyone else must die…
Bones is back and he's facing off with something even his brave heart can't fight off. I love the character of Bones and will steadfastly read everything and anything that Wheaton publishes with Bones as its star!
I enjoy tales that aren't afraid to push back at convention, and that's what I like the most about Bones. First, the protagonist is not who you would typically expect, and even for a dog-centric story, there is no anthropomorphizing going on here. Second, this is an extremely contained yet still high-stakes tale where literally anyone can die .
All-in-all, there is much to love about Bones--both the book and the dog.
Bones, a law enforcement K9 and star of "The Complete Apocalypse Saga" returns in a prequel called "Hellhound". Bones finds himself in the East Harlem projects. A local family enlists the heroic shepherd's help against a mysterious ghost like black mastiff who seems to be able to control others to commit horrific acts. Good fast read.
