Ready to Learn: A Mandate for the Nation

Rate this book
A product of The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, this book puts forward the issues affecting children's ability to learn and posits corrective measures necessary to raise the standards of education in the USA. The issues examined and identified are broad, from pre-natal care and homelife to pre-school education and nourishment. Although this study and report was published with a stated goal of having children in the 90s ready to learn by 2000, the issues themselves and the research conducted are of continuing interest and value.
