I'm a bit of a voyeur. I love to stick my nose into total strangers' business and observe how they deal with life's hurdles and whatever obstacles fate throws at them. I can't think of anything more challenging or interesting than delving into a character's psyche to discover what makes her/him tick. The surprises and insights are amazing.

The people who interest me most are the ones I know will triumph despite life’s problems and challenges. For me, writing their stories is both rewarding and a whole lot of fun.

Publication didn't come easy for me--just ask my family! That took seven-plus years, during which I worked full-time as a banker, complete with an MBA in finance and human resources management. I wrote evenings and weekends, spending countless hours hunched in front of the computer while I painstakingly honed my craft, and collected folders of rejections. In 1999 my efforts at last paid off. That summer, I won the Golden Heart for best long contemporary romance. Sadly it is now defunct. Six months later, just four days before Christmas, I sold my first book to Silhouette Special Edition, also now gone. That book, STRANGER IN A SMALL TOWN, was a 2000 Romantic Times nominee (another loss) for best first long series novel.

Since then I have sold multiple novels to publishers and tried my hand at indie publishing.

But things change, so check back often for updates.

Thanks for stopping by, and come back soon!

Unconventional Story of Two Widowed Mothers ~

When I first read the story blurb for this book, I knew I had to read it. Never could I have predicted how it would all pan out, but the happily-ever-after in this book will certainly have the reader re-considering `the norm' when it comes to death of a spouse, family, relationships, and friendships with those who seem to be enemies in life.

I loved both of the heroines, for different reasons. Mary Beth's determination to build a life after the death of her unfaithful husband, with her teenage daughter, Aurora, was courageous and admirable. She literally started with no qualifications for a job, since she had been a stay-at-home mom (encouraged by her husband to do so). Yet, she used the limited but valuable experience from her former

Yet, she used the limited but valuable experience from her former high-class life in directing charities, events, and volunteering...to find a career and start over. Also, her persistence as a stern but loving mother to Aurora was wonderful. She gave her teenager the much-needed structure older kids need, but resist. She was strong.

Caroline was also a great main character. Though she struggled with her husband's infidelity as Mary Beth did, she was open to a friendship with `the other woman', Mary Beth. It wasn't all neat and tidy...as you could imagine! But unlike Mary Beth, Caroline had anchored herself with a steady career and was raising her eight year old daughter, Jax, when she learned of Stephen's (their husband's) infidelity. Both Jax and Aurora played a pivotal role in the book, too, concerning families and friendships.

I really enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to reading more of Ann Roth's e-book exclusives. Highly recommend for those who love stories about family, friendships, healing, and love.

I read this book in German. It was a good translation and I enjoyed it, so I looked up Ann Roth online and got here. I plan to read more of her books. Very well written, great character development and I felt like I was really in all the places, so she set the scene well. Felt like I was in Seattle... Very sweet touching story... made me feel good... everything I want in a book to get cozy with. Thanks Ann!

This has been sitting on my bookshelf forever. After two books full of murder and intrigue I thought it was time for a nice cheesy romance novel. First time reading anything by this author so we'll see.... Well, it wasn't great, but it was a nice easy read.

I wanted an easy, fluffy read, which this was, but it was boring and poorly written. The premise had so much potential - two women meet in the ER after their husband has a heart attack, only to discover they are both married to the same man. The author could have done so much more with the story.

This book was very intriguing loved the storyline and plot ! Then I was glad the two broken families got together and lived happily ever after. Character building was so real like you knew them. Excellent read loved it.

Some parts were a bit too far fetched for me. I enjoyed this book though, I couldn't put it down.
