This volume is very much a long epilogue for volume 8. Rennt and Rina get to explore their powers and we learn what happened to Maalt after the creation of the new dungeon. There is a brief meeting with people who like are going to have an important role in future volumes, but that is about it. It still was a decent read much like previous volumes and such volumes are to be expected in light novels in general, but combined with the shortness of this and the previous volumes does make me wonder whether or not the volumes could have been combined. O well, an entertaining quick read and intermezzo to the next arc.

Returns the long-winded excess

This volume feels like another filler volume. It consists mostly of the aftermath of the big city fight in the last volume. There's a little bit of training montage exhibition and some light secret revelations. Then some new character interactions and preparations to go to the capital via carriage instead of teleportation. Really not a lot in this one, but boy was there a lot of filler and explanation and things you don't really need to read padding the pages. I feel like this is probably a skippable volume without too much loss?
