When Politics & Love Don't Mix

This is the third novel I've read by Ms. Angela Winters, and the second one that I found to be just an OKAY read. The characters in “A Capitol Affair” are slightly INTERESTING. Skye is a liberal and Darren is a conservative, they are both very outspoken when expressing their opinions, which causes their opposing views to lead to several HEATED verbal debates and quite a few PASSIONATE encounters. But will Skye's DETERMINATION to uncover the truth behind her ex-boyfriend, Jeff's untimely death lead to the destruction of this newly budding relationship?!! Or will Skye decide to stand by Darren despite the fact that all the evidence makes him the prime suspect?!! So, despite the mystery and the romantic sparks, I STRUGGLED to finish this story. At times I found the storyline to be slow-paced and the chapters throughout seem to go on FOREVER. IMO, politics and love is always a risky combination. And IF it's NOT pulled together properly, it can make a romantic journey EXTREMELY slow and dull. If you MUST read this book, BORROW it from the library or a friend.
