A wonderful experience of English madness to cross Iceland with little preparation or appropriate kit. Amazing achievement to follow. So evocative of being to many of the places visited brought to life. Great adventurous read.

Nice book of a foreign land I hope to visit one day. The author writes a straightforward journal of his solitary walk across the small island, through a harsh land of glaciers, wild rivers, dangerous lava fields, and the occasional encounters with tourists and natives.
