Finally, the powers-that-be decided to make this book available for Kindle! I love, love, love Ann Christopher and really wanted to read this one, but wanted it on my Kindle rather than paper or hardback. This book is good, y'all! I was initially kind of skeeved by the idea of Justus being 17 when he meets Angela (17!!!), but of course, my girl handled it well. Really, really good story with well-drawn, believable characters and lots of passion!!! Loved it!

Ann Christopher, you rock! Please keep the good stories coming!

When I first thought about rating this a 5, I thought it was probably a bit excessive but then I started to think about how I really enjoyed it and that if I rated it a 4, I would always come back to question it. The raw emotions and vulnerability between Justus & Angela, little adorable Maya plus the complex relationship between Justus & his father all felt very real and Ann Christopher did a really wonderful job in crafting this story.

I genuinely enjoyed this. It's classic note of "age ain't nothing but a number". The strong presence of love and family it was great. I would recommend to anyone for a good weekend read,

How to change your lifestyle

Hard book to review because there was lots of repetition, too much overthinking, too many assumptions and erroneous beliefs but I enjoyed the characters, the problems each faced and especially, what each person wanted.

A sister learns her that a car accident has resulted in the death of her sister and brother-in-law. Their 3 year old daughter needs a parent. The only other possibility is the child's uncle. There has been attraction between the aunt and uncle, but their lifestyles and beliefs about the other keeps them apart. There is also a grandfather who is too old to keep the child and does not get along with his son. Can each person find his and her way through the tangle to do what is best for everyone, including the child.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It satisfied me while I was reading it despite my frustration with the repetition and assumptions.

Complicated and Likeable Characters

The story was none like I'd ever read. I loved the plot line however both characters had self esteem issues that were very unlikely. Perhaps they could have been explained in a more believable way. The dynamics between Justus and his father were great. I loved how that relationship evolved. A really good read although frustrating to get through at times.

Poignant

Wow, what an emotional rollercoaster throughout this heartwarming book. I had to take time to enjoy the scenes that invaded my mind. "Angela and Justus " had a connection for ten years. Then life happened and pulled them closer. This is a feel warm and fuzzy story.

This author surprises with her descriptions and her wit is hilarious. I'm happy to have found her writing gift.

Risk (It's Complicated Book 2)

The love story of Justus and Angela. Angela is a lawyer seven years older then Justus and he is in love with her. This book has four story line: Justus and Angela, Angela and Ronnie, Angela, Justus and Maya (VJ and Caralyn's daughter) Justus and Vincent (Justus' father). OK story but I could not get into this book.

Amazing

I enjoyed reading this book. So far, anything written by Ann Christopher is amazing. The characters were intriguing and there were sad parts in the book, but it's something we all encounter. I have not been disappointed in any book she has written! Awesome job! I could not put the book down!!!

Delightful, a great page turner

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't put it down. The older, more established female, Angela, played well against the young, arrogant and handsome Justus. The family dynamics kept me involved until the end.

Justus for Angela

It is such a well-written book. The push and pull relationship, was a joy to read. I was a shame that VJ and Carolyn had to meet their demise so early in book. Maya was a handful. I highly recommend this book.

I received an email last week saying that Ann Christopher’s book, Risk, was free on Amazon. With this being one of the few books by this author that I had not read, I decided a “purchase” was necessary.

The book starts off with Justus Robinson as a 17-year-old young man who’s been living in his brother’s shadow for as long as he can remember. His mother died a few years prior and since then he’s felt alone and lost. His father makes it known that Vincent is his favorite and because Justus hasn’t followed the rules his father set out for him, they clash. When his brother gets married, Justus is intrigued by the bride’s sister, Angela. He is attracted to her and it seems as if she is as well. However, there’s a problem. Angela is about seven years older than him and is starting work as a lawyer while Justus is entering college.

One dance sealed their fate and though nothing happened that night, they both have never been far from each other’s mind. Ten years later, they meet again. Before things can even be explored or conversations can be properly had, days after their brief reunion tragedy strikes. Angela and Justus are at first thrown together and then pitted against each other. But even when they are seemingly at war with each other, the chemistry and love between them cannot be denied.

For a love that promises forever and a healing balm in the midst of tragedy, are they both willing to risk their pride and hearts to be together?

Risk takes us on a romantic journey about love, loss, and family. The story is relatable, emotional and heartwarming. Though it’s a bit longer than I would have liked, the chemistry between the two main characters is consistent enough throughout to tie the story together well.

An oldie but goodie, while Risk is free on Amazon, I would encourage you to give a try.

Worth The Risk

This is the second novel I've read by Ann Christopher. I must say I enjoyed this book! The storyline was realistic and the main and supporting characters were definitely memorable. The raw and honest emotions that were portrayed in Justus and Angela's relationship and also in his relationship with his father were well thought out and so moving. I found myself reaching for the tissues many times when reading about the sadness and anguish Justus, Angela, Maya and even his father had to endure throughout this novel. I also had to LOL at Justus' mischievous nature. For a younger man, Justus was very mature and determined for his age. He was also definitely a very passionate man, that any woman would have been glad to marry once he decided to settle down. Definitely a good read!

I was expecting more from this book. The beginning was promising, but it simply failed to hit the mark. It seemed like there was little action, and just a whole bunch of talk about the same topics. The love story wasn't convincing. I did not watch these two fall in love and struggle to hold on to it. Their loving each other was haphazardly thrown in there. Also, the characters were not always likeable, and I was particularly upset with the way Justus swung back and forth with his anger. This could have been so much better. The potential was there. The little girl in the story, however, was written adorably.

Justus and Angela

They say you know when it's right. But that doesn't mean the ride will be any less bumper. Angela and Justus journey was years in the making. It was filled with insecurities and doubt. And an unfortunate life circumstance push them on the journey of love and forgiveness. The added elements of Vincent Sr and Maya really let you know how important family dynamics are and how they shape your future.

This book started me crying and then made me hate one of the main characters. By the end of the book I wanted her to get on that plane, and the reappearance of the ex was stupid. Who would accept an engagement ring after all the stuff he put her through? Honestly, I want your addresses cause whoever you are you need to be thumped till the light comes on. I can understand being in love with an idea, but she should have put the smack down on him. I liked all the rest of the characters.

I really enjoyed reading this book. There were some negatives that I decided to overlook. Like for instance, Justus and Angela being jealous of Maya. If one was paying Maya too much attention the other got jealous. Plus Justus took being an alpha male to a whole new level. But I guess those things made the book more interesting.

Justus

I loved Justus but hated Angela. Again this was not one of my favorite books. I guess I just don't mesh with this author. The story line drags out too much for me. The females in her books get on my nerves. They're too "hard." I recommend you read... but I can't take another book from this author.

Excellent read

Totally enjoyable. Well developed characterization and great storyline. Out of the ashes of tragedy rose an unexpected love. Resisted by Angela, fuelled by Justus, love finds the way to bring family together. An excellent read.

I couldn't reconcile the fact that they were engaged in a contentious custody battle and at the same time were supposedly so in love with each other. I just didn't buy it.
