Deshawn is a player who unbeknownst to himself had fallen for Anika at first sight...however Anika giving him the cold shoulder for quite a LONG time and snubbing him every time they were together made him just want to get even w/her or so he thinks...Anika plays EXTREMELY hard to get despite fighting a unexplainable attraction to Deshawn...BUT once he gets her to mellow out and own up to what they're feeling...things get pretty HOT and STEAMY...but unfortunately it doesn't last long before an half overheard conversations between Deshawn and Devon has Anika running away and putting the barriers back up and closing her heart to Deshawn...of course Deshawn FINALLY realizes his love for Anika...but how does he convince her of this...and how long before he's fed up w/jumping through and over all the obstacles she puts up to block him at every turn...will he FINALLY give up or take will she FINALLY wise up?!! And will they have a chance to reconcile before the stalker catches up w/Anika and puts an end to it all?! Again being a Special 15th Anniversary edition IMHO the author should have taken the time to have the typos and/or errors cleaned up before sending it back out to print. Still a decent 3.8 read...Anika is just a very hard heroine to like at times...but Deshawn softens and compliments her throughout...he's quite a charmer!

So I likes the other books in the series, but not this one. I'm still confused as to what Hakeem did in the past to her. I'm confused about whatever visions DeShawn was having. And mainly I couldn't stand Chloe ass. If I'm constantly telling you a man makes me uncomfortable and you brush it off, you are no longer my friend. I don't give a damn if he is your husband's twin.

Anika was not likeable in her story. I understand being cautious with your heart after what she went through with Hakeem and yes Deshawn is a playboy.

As bold as Anika appears she operated from her trauma. She runs a domestic violence foundation but haven't really dealt with her own situation. Also, how do you not keep up with the whereabouts of your abuse or arm yourself to be safe. I don't believe in using weapons as first option but she some self-defense classes. The reason for no classes or weapons is no one and I mean no one knew that man was putting his hands on her and tried to kill her. Her parents has such a loving and beautiful relationship and yet she stays even after he hit her the first time. She stated that she was waiting for him to change. WHOA! The man was able to walk into her home and take her without much of a fight.

I wish I could have enjoyed this story more but it was way too much drama with Anika and Deshawn not to mention Alicia and Poochie and the older gentlemen that acted like some father figure butting in and causing more drama.

I enjoyed the epilogue because it make the entire read worth it. They got to a really great place as a family, parents, and partners. I also loved that Tara married Anika's brother.

I like this book and most of the characters but I could not stand Anika, the main character. I was just waitin on her to get shot by her stalker. Anika would NOT give Deshawn any room to explain any situation. I understand her being hella mad from the first time he messed up. I just really hate characters who constantly have sex with someone they claim to not like because their body just wants what it wants.

This one ranks up there among my favorite books in the AA romance genre. I was so glad that Niobia didn't wait to have Anika and Deshawn profess their love for each other until the end of the book. I also loved Deshawn's plan to make Anika realize that he really loved her. Actions truly speak louder than words. I highly recommend this book.

This was a re-read for me. I didn't read the first one but I like how you didn't really need to read the first one to catch on to this one. I enjoyed reading this even tho Anika really got on my nerves from time to time with her jumping to conclusions.

DeShawn is the Man

DeShawn is the Mac daddy of them all....lol. Anika drove me crazy not trusting him, but love prevailed in the end. Poor Alicia, she can't win for losing. At least she finally did something r7ght.
