With the small ratings, I never thought I would get to like this book. And I'm sorry for that, but I guess I must have read this great book at the right moment for me. I kind of, even love it, perhaps. The story was just lovely and new to me, I have never read a historical romance (with a hint of paranormal) before and I'm so glad to had the chance to get a hold on this one. Thanks FRIEND! XD

Now you know how love feels

So let's start with the Hero & Heroine
Harte Delaney have trust issues, especially with a woman. He thinks that women are manipulative that can never be trusted, and would only cost him pain in the end. Harte strongly believes that he is never capable of love anymore much less to marry again. Because at young age, Harte's mother, together with his brother and sister left him with his grandmother, Sarah in Newport. And with that, it left a huge scar on him to be abandoned like a worthless thing. So as he grew up, he became strong and bold, He committed his life to his dangerous work willingly. But Harte became fully cold and numb through the death of his young wife, Camillia. He always felt guilty for her tragic suicide, he even continually blamed his grandmother for it. sigh

All the while, Lily Courtland was just so sweet, innocent, loving, kind-hearted, pleasant, and the most beautiful & perfect kind of girl. She is a little naive though, but it just makes sense because she was sheltered all her life. Lily has been gifted with a sixth sense too, She can see the past & future which is really quite amazing. :)))

Ok, in the first few chapters, the storyline was quite an action-packed! Lily and Harte met by chance by then, and of course Lily instantly knew that he was the man on her dreamings. So as they get together, along with the aborigine twins, Lily was determined to have Harte as her lover, but Harte was just weird and confused as hell. He keeps on resisting her endless, and it would always saddened Lily that he can't love her as much as she does. But Harte knew for a fact that he longs for her in the first place and being together with Lily is inevitable. Their love story has its own ups & down, sometimes I feel their betrayal as much they do. It is still heartbreakingly beautiful, most of the time I can't seem to predict it all, and only the small parts, but that's what I love about it the most. Thanks Linda Ladd :D
