New recruit Belle makes her mark on the Restoration, with Tangle's help. Meanwhile Sonic, Tails, and Amy infiltrate an abandoned Eggman base, only to find out that it's anything but!
Belle's a neat addition to the cast. Between her, Tangle, Whisper, and Doctor Starline (and even Rough & Tumble), this run of comics has done a lot towards fleshing out the Sonic cast away from the usual suspects, something I was worried it wouldn't do. I do think 'badnik-gone-good' is something they've done before, but she's adorable, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
The B plot with Sonic is just more Sonic Vs. Eggman stuff. It's fine, but again, we've done it before. I guess after Metal Virus they're going for smaller threats for a while, especially after this and the Chao Race stuff last volume, but I'm ready for things to kick back into a higher gear.
there are some cool concepts here like the cool spatial whatever area, the combo badniks, and the stuff with belle (that admittedly did go on a bit too long considering how obvious her origin is if you read prior issues) but despite the cool ideas, there isn't really much to them besides maybe the last issue good art though. evan stanley feels like she's probably better to co-plot a script and draw than to actually write a story solo
buuuuut maybe she'll get better, after all, the first like 10 issues of this run by flynn were also pretty lacking
Sonic and his friends desperatley fight there way out of the tower as its about to blow up because of all the damage it has recieved. They get out and far enough on a plane right before it blows, eggman is then seen sad because he was un able to dispose of them. But we then see belle sad because of what she has learned about her self, because of this jewel trys to cheer her up by telling her she did a good thing.
Hi everyone! It’s Ariel here, and I’m excited to tell you about a cool book called "Sonic the Hedgehog: Volume 10, Test Run!"
In this book, Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks again and has a new plan to cause trouble. Sonic and his friend Tails have to work with their pals to stop him and save the day. There’s also a new character named Belle who’s joining the team!
While Tangle is helping Belle get started with the Restoration team, Sonic, Tails, and Amy discover a mysterious new tower. This tower is full of twisting corridors and tricky challenges, like a huge maze. They need to figure out how to get through it and complete the test to stop Dr. Eggman’s plan.
The book has lots of exciting adventures and cool illustrations that show all the action and the crazy challenges in the maze. I loved seeing how Sonic and his friends use their skills to solve problems and fight off Dr. Eggman’s plans.
My favorite part was when Sonic and his friends try to navigate through the maze and tackle all the challenges. It’s really thrilling to see how they work together and use their teamwork to get through tough situations.
If you like adventures with lots of twists, fun characters, and exciting challenges, you’ll really enjoy "Sonic the Hedgehog: Volume 10, Test Run!" It’s a fantastic book with a lot of action and fun!
Some great art and layouts in the pocket dimension or whatever but mostly forgettable treading of water. The revelation of who Belle really is is well handled if predictable. They mine some emotion there. A decent set of comics. Glad I’m not buying these trade paperback collections. You’re seriously putting out a collected edition of 4 issues?
The art made some of the scene transitions a bit confusing. The story arc wasn't as interesting as Chao Races, and nothing comes close to the saga of the Metal Virus.
