Wow. What an amazing book. They don't make books like they used to. The wisdom of many condensed into one small paperback. Here you will find biblical, well-reasoned, and applicable approaches to forgiveness, anger, and guilt so that you may enjoy deepened relations with humankind and God, and deepened understanding of yourself.

“You may recall the hurt, but you will not relive it. No constant reviewing, no rehashing of the old hurt, no going back to sit on the old gravestones where past grievances lie buried…The past is the past. Nothing can alter the facts…but the meaning can be changed…to “for-give” is a process of giving up. In forgiving we give up demands for perfect behavior, perfect justice, perfect resolution, perfect retribution. All we can ask is genuine repentance of ourself and of the other…we put aside the view of the other as an unworthy, unacceptable, unforgivable offender. In forgiving we lay aside the view of ourselves as righteous and the other as totally unrighteous, and we begin to experience the truth that we are both fallible humans in need of being forgiven” (p. 46).

This book was extremely eye-opening for me. Forgiveness is an active action, not just words meant to cover a wound as a band-aid. I've learned so much!

Very good book on forgiveness. The best suggestion from the book is the discussion about love and its relationship to forgiveness.
