For everyone who dreams of having the courage to sail around the world alone....this is an honest and well-written account of Dodge Morgan's solo passage. There was a corresponding self-filmed video account which shows visually what words often fail to...think it was on PBS.

Excellent storytelling and account of Dodge Morgan's non stop circumnavigation aboard his custom monohull, "American Promise." Not something I would ever want to do, circumnavigation yes, solo and non-stop, no, but still a captivating read and I truly admire those that are willing to take these risky adventures.

Interesting and compelling for its sailing angle and story. Written by Dodge Morgan from his sailing log, there is no mistaking this book for a story or narrative written by a professional writer. But the book is an enjoyable and fascinating read.

A great story from the famous Maine sailor Dodge Morgan about his record around the world solo voyage. A lot of detail for sailors about his boat. And a day by day journal of his voyage. A great read.

There is a lot of very technical writing throughout the book, but there is enough writing suitable for the uninitiated sailor to keep his/her interest. I found his quest to have some characteristics relatable to a dissertation writer. Long days with little to no visible change or accomplishment. Solitude. Highs and lows.
