I read this book so many times when I was in my early teens. I checked it out regularly from my local library. I wanted to be a vet and this book was great for inspiration. Glad I found it on Goodreads. I will have to find it again and read it for old times sake.

Great book about what goes into becoming a vet. Although I love animals and have oftened wondered if I should have chosen this as a career path, I now know that I couldn't do the surgeries and the extensive studying involved. Maybe I could change direction and become a vet tech instead.

i often read this book at my work - for context i am a receptionist at an emergency vet hospital. being asked by clients and fellow employees “what are you reading” was always followed with a slightly embarrassing answer… “oh a book about becoming a vet.”

but i will happily take all the “nerd” judgements for this book. so many interesting stories and so much information i will carry with me on my journey towards becoming a vet
