Part One of the Winter Rose Trilogy

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, legends, sentients and gods have existed, unknowingly to all humans for centuries. Protectors of heaven and earth, these ancient beings are dead set on preventing the ignition of a battle fought long ago. There's only one problem with that; the titan lords, who the young gods defeated in that battle. Their minions are gathering all the twisted, evil things they could find in an effort to spark the flame that would bring war to our world and over throw these powerful immortals. Their fate, and the fate of the universe now lies in the hands of a sixteen year old girl; Winter Rose.

As the fate of the world dangles precariously on the shoulders of 16 year old, Winter, she must quickly learn to master the source of her powers and find the courage to overcome her fears. If she fails the world will plunge into darkness, her mythical sweetheart Adonis will die and the universe as we know it will cease to exist.

I won "Winter Rose" free from Goodreads First Reads. It's about a 16 year old girl named Winter who must learn to use powers she wasn't aware she had and overide her fears to use them in order to save the world. She meets others, mostly teenagers like herself, who also have various powers and, together, they need to try to save the world from those with evil powers. I read this book to the end but did not really enjoy it at all. When I did reach the end I felt that the story was not over - there was something missing to bring it to a satisfactory ending. Also, the end left me hanging as to what was more important in the story - Winter's teenage love problems or her needing to save the world.

Winter Rose was an addictive book from the start. I started the book while on the airplane and found myself trying to find time to read it any second I had free.
Winter Rose is a sixteen year old girl who is faced with an unimaginable task of protecting the universe from the Titan Lords and their followers. Winter and the other immortals with powers such as herself come together to try and save the world, while overcoming their fear of what could lie ahead.
The underlying romance with Winter and her Adonis was on for the record books, and has left me chewing at the bit for book two of this series.
Crystal did an amazing job developing her characters into ones that I care about. I am looking forward to many more amazing things from this series!
