I need to rant. Harry and Jack were both really good novellas, and then this was just… I don’t even know.

Brig is an idiot. I’m supposed to believe this woman was a nurse? She’s the most naive FMC I’ve ever read. She really believes a man ten years her senior - James - who has had his eyes on her since she was TWELVE, was a good man???? Her sisters can see it, but she can’t??? And even after he kidnaps her, drugs her, holds her in a condemned building for two weeks, she still tells Julian (poor Julian) that she expected to lose her virginity to and marry James, and didn’t see him for who he was. HE IS A CREEP, BRIG. And Julian, he felt like such an afterthought. He tells her he loves her (why??) and she replies “I want to have sex with you”. What a kick in the nuts. And seriously, I’m supposed to believe these characters are leaders and high ranking members of an international criminal syndicate. These people who, aside from Jack, spend two weeks wasting time trying to work out who took her. Jack literally appears from overseas, and immediately says “James”. SERIOUSLY.

To be honest, it’s a total let down. Two stars because it’s well written but the plot and characters are a sh**hole.
