Just sneaking into a 4 star!
Okay....at least this book helped to redeem the first book a little bit.
The Hero was better in this book and there was a lot of explanation in this one which helped me to understand his horrid behavior in the first book.
Even though this was better, I'm not sure I'm in much of a hurry to move on in the series.

Am I going to allow Shandi Boyes to sucker punch me into getting another book in this series because her cliffhanger has me wanting to find out what happened and who is Brandon James?
Let me just get this out there ... without the sex, this story isn't so bad but the unnatural reaction to a man she has been having sex with for two months is just that .... unnatural. Coupled with the all over the place storyline and the fact that nothing has endeared me to these characters, I am struggling to finish this series but I only started it so I could read Nikolai without feeling like I was missing out on a secret. Now I am wondering if I even want to read Nikolai any more (which btw is currently FREE on Amazon).
My favourite part of this series is before these two have sex because, after that, all they seem to do is have sex. I also have no clue why we are following Nick's personal life so closely. Once it was determined that Megan could care less about Isaac, why are we still pursuing this angle or building this storyline? There are enough potential criminal activities between Isaac and his business associates. This is just two much!
I also CANNOT take Isabelle crying any more. It is getting ridiculous. Maybe she had planned on covering white-collar crimes because everything makes this chick cry. At least she has a very strong sense of right and wrong, despite her choices.
I am lost and I don't know if this was the aim of the author. I am also torn. Because I want to know what happens next but I also want to move on to a better-written series that doesn't have women who turn into a river of lust every time a man steps into a room. The novelty has worn off for all of us, no matter how good the orgasms are... for you.
There is potential within this story and I like that we are getting a detailed look as the issues arrive and it's now dual POV but so much is happening. My attention is all over the place and I just want to find out how what the hell is happening here and how many people are gunning for these two. I get Isaac but who is trying to bring down sweet Isabelle who probably couldn't hurt a fly.

It wasn’t exactly a great series… but I read all of the books so I have to give it props

This second book was better. I found myself not leaving as many bad comments, and it wasn’t overly stupid! Obviously, there’s still stuff to talk about though. This one was a solid 2/5 stars.
First of all, the plot event I’m spoilering was such an interesting twist, but I’m appalled by how the author treated it. THREE PAGES AFTER SAID EVENT THESE TWO SHITS DECIDE IT’S BEST TO FUCK WHEN SHE’S TRAUMATIZED.
Aside from that I let a lot of the minor things slip by in this one. I don’t have much to say about this book. I don’t really remember what happened. I think this was the whole big one “I’m mad at you for this and then I forgive you but then you find out this about me and you’re mad at me” plots, which I think was really boring. I was also starting to be sort of unsatisfied with the lack of mafia events. For a mafia book, there was very little mafia politics and discussion. It more just read like a really rich guy with bodyguards and specialty people.

OMG!! These books just keep getting better and better. I have definitely found myself another author to follow and read. Isabelle and Isaac is a story you don't want to miss out on. I love how you get to read about everyone. The author really brings you into these books and you really feel like you are watching a show on tv. I am blown away with these books!

This was a great story and was very entertaining. Once I started I could not put it down. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is sizzling hot. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

The intrigue continues.

And now we also have Isaac's POV. It's exhilarating knowing more about him. The story is fast-paced and it leaves us hanging on every word.
Isaac and Isabelle have really good chemistry and their interactions are explosive. Besides them, the secondary characters are appealing and they add balance to the plot, making it even more interesting.
It's easy to get hooked on the story and forget about the real world.

This is the second book in the series. Book one is Enigma of Life (which was a fabulous read). I feel Shandi gets you caught up enough that you can read this without reading book one and not being lost. However...you will be very disappointed if you skipped it and knew what you were missing out on. Enigma of Life is just too good not to read.
Isaac is powerful, secretive, passionate, fiercely protective of those he loves, unforgiving to those who betray him and easy on the eyes. He was replaying all the little clues he missed while falling for Isabelle and how she played him. He never suspected her as someone to use him. He was always careful not to reveal business in front of the many women whom he had on his arm over the years. The one he thought he could trust betrayed him the most. He now knows he can never trust her again and she can never be a part of his life again.
Isabelle is honest, loyal, protective to those she loves as well and wants to advance within the FBI that she has made her career. She has fallen for the one man she should steer clear of...her assignment. Not only could it get her fired since he is a conflict of interest, but he is a wealthy, dangerous man...or so she is being trained to believe. Isaac thinks she betrayed him. Isabelle will do anything to clear his name...regardless if he ever lets her back into his life or not.
“Even with Isaac clearly indicating he wants nothing to do with me, I’m still going to defend him. I’ll fight for his justice right alongside him. Even if he can’t stand the sight of me….Izzy, please don’t be stupid. They are here trying to charge you with conspiracy in aiding and abetting a criminal, and supplying him with private government documents...you could be looking at over twenty years in jail...”
This book had you questioning everyone Isabelle and Isaac had friended or worked with. You will keep trying to figure out who is telling the truth and who is setting them up. The story takes many twist and turns and leaves you wanting more!!! I am anxiously awaiting for book three of this series.

Definitely another 10 star book in my eyes. Well I can honestly say this is the best book I have read this year and it is going to be hard to top. I loved the first book about Isaac because I was literally blown away and did not think I could find another book that could hold a candle to it. It tore my heart into a thousand pieces when it ended and I have been waiting to read this one and see what was going to happen.
Isaac is still the best book boyfriend there is and he continues to make me drool over him in book two. Book one left off a little hard to comprehend what happened and book two starts off explaining how Isaac felt which was a nice thing to hear. Isaac protects those he loves and would do anything in the world to prove that. Isaac feels betrayal and that is not something he takes lightly.
Isabelle is in the FBI and she is doing her job even though she is not always happy about what is going on. She is there to prove someone guilty but that is not always the case in her mind. When she believes someone is innocent she is going to spend her time proving their innocence. Isabelle is beautiful and it is not hard for her to find a date but she only wants one person and now she is not sure she has a future with them. Isabelle is going to have to prove her innocence as well and she is not sure how to do that because she has to prove it to her job and the love of her life.
What an exquisite book. I cried and laughed and couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end and now I am left speechless. Shandi Boyes is just amazing and has a true talent. I am once again thankful for finding this author and enjoying her stories and look for more to come.

Without a doubt my favorite author is Shandi Boyes in the year 2017. Why? Because her books eat you up alive, spit you out, and have you begging for more. And when she asks you ‘are you sure?’ You say ‘Yes ma’am.’
So besides Shandi deciding to have us on the seat of our panties her writing is just amazing. Simply there is not too much description but at the same time there is not too much talking. A healthy mix that authors sometimes do not find when they are writing.
So onto the story. We love Isaac and Isabelle. Well mostly Izzy because Isaac and his need to dominate and be in charge of everything.
What happens when every single lie that Izzy has been holding in from Isaac comes crumbling down? When she is put in a position that would change the dynamics of their relationship and possibly destroy everything that they worked for together. She is on one side and Isaac is on the other.
When you are trying to decide what is more important your career or love?
When every single feelings you had for one another comes crashing down and you don’t know what is left under the rumble.
This is Izzy and Isaac at the rawest that it will ever be. Both trying to survive and find meaning. You still see their live for one another in this book and the fight against one another. I fell in love with them again.
Oh and Hugo. Oh how I love Hugo. He is such an amazing secondary character in this and makes me want more of him every single time I read one of these books.

If I have ever wished there was a bigger star rating I could get it would be for this series. It is so good. I hate finishing one of the books because I don't want to wait on the next one. I am so deeply invested in the story I don't want it to end.. This series is one of my favorites. But out of all the characters Isaac story has by far been my favorite.
Isaac is a worthy business man in his small town of a town called Ravenshoe. Isaac owns half of the town. Isaac also being investigated by the FBI. He knows they are always watching him. What he don't know is he felling in love with an agent. After being in the investigation room for two hours on some obviously fabricated charges that he hasn't been informed of what they are. No still hasn't seen any of the FBI agents that arrested him including Isabelle. He tells the police officer to change him or let him go.
Isabelle is pacing back and forth in the small room attached to the investigation room. Brandon can see the fear in her eyes. When he tells her to stop and watch at the exchange between Isaac and Alex... Where will this end up going?? Will they put Isaac in jail? Will Isabelle get to explain her side to Isaac? Will Isabella get fired from FBI? Man so many things happen in this book you are just going to have to read it for yourself.. I highly recommend it!! It's a 10 stars series for me!!

“No one will ever fully understand an enigma.”
This is the second book in the Enigma series. I would highly recommend that books are read in order for many reasons. One being that the first book ends in a cliff hanger and this book literally picks up right where the first one left off. Secondly, these are complex characters. Even though this book and the first mostly revolve around Isaac Holt and Isabelle, there are a lot of supporting small role characters that are explained and won’t make as much sense if you don’t read the first book. I will say though that the beginning two chapters from Isaac’s point of view gives a pretty thorough rundown of what has taken place and where they are at currently.
That being said, this book is another great action packed, love ridden, dramatic, and comedic laden book about Isaac and Izzy. Normally I am not one to read cliff hanger books but these are so well written that you are completely addicted and have to keep reading them to find out what comes next. It is much like your favorite law and order show.

This is the second book in the Enigma series. I would highly recommend that books are read in order for many reasons. One being that the first book ends in a cliff hanger and this book literally picks up right where the first one left off. Secondly, these are complex characters. Even though this book and the first mostly revolve around Isaac Holt and Isabelle, there are a lot of supporting small role characters that are explained and won’t make as much sense if you don’t read the first book. I will say though that the beginning two chapters from Isaac’s point of view gives a pretty thorough rundown of what has taken place and where they are at currently.

Unraveling the Enigma by Shandi Boyes a compelling and thrilling five-star read. This is the second book in the Enigma series and we get to see more of Isaacs story. It is recommended for over 18s as does contain scenes of a sexual and adult nature, as well as language that may offend some people. ‘Enigma is a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand’ Isaac Holt is one such thing, and would definitely be classed as an enigma. This is a love story, but not your conventional love story, it shows us how just because you may be in love with someone doesn’t mean you will always get to be together. This is a story of how not everything is black and white, but there are many shades of grey in between also, that not everyone pays attention to.
We pick the story up after we left the first book, Isaac now knows that Isabella works for the FBI and he believes that she was undercover to get information on him, being too hurt and angry that he let her in to see what is under the surface. Feeling like he doesn’t know who she really is, Isaac feels betrayed and that she is a stranger. What he doesn’t know is what Isabella is going through to keep him safe.
Isabella Brahn feels like her life isn’t her own, the world just fell out of the bottom of it and she doesn’t know how to get it right again. The man she has finally admitted she loves thinks she is a stranger who has lied to him for all the time they knew each other and never wants to see her again. As even though she has sworn to up hold the law, ‘Wouldn’t you get your hands a little dirty for someone you love?’

Isaac is absolutely furious after discovering that Isabelle is a fbi agent and what is worse she's has months to tell him but she didn't so when he get arrested and see her in a vest you can’t understand why everything he thought of Isabelle and trust he gave her just blew up in smoke. He can't believe all this time she's been playing him he fell for her games he feels so foolish he trusted her and gave her a relationship something he doesn't do and this is how she repay him…. But is everything what it seems? Will he listen to the truth or will he stay in this furious rage??
Isabelle is heartbroken the way Isaac looked at her when he saw her in her fbi vest will always haunt her it was the look of betrayal and hurt even some disgust, she understands the anger but if only he knew what she was doing for him and would see that she never intentionally hurt him she know should of told him sooner about her profession but she was scared she would lose him they were already risking a lot being together in secret she didn't want to add to it. She fight tooth and nail to get through to Isaac just hope it ain't to late. Can she convince Isaac that she never turned him in or will the trust they built be gone forever?

5 stars but really deserves more!
Unraveling an Enigma is the second book in what I can only describe as the outstanding Enigma series by Shandi Boyes! After I read the first book (which I did no put down once) I knew this was going to be a series that I was going to love but I don’t think I was prepared for how much I was going to love it! Again once I started this book I never put it down. I still don’t think I have ever been so hooked into a story like this one. There are so many twists and turns that you have to keep on reading! I still couldn’t guess what was going to happen! I loved that in this book we got chapters from Isaac’s POV as well as Isabelle and he is still there at the top of my book boyfriend list! After the shock ending to the last book we pick up exactly where it ended after Isaac being arrested! I did not see that one coming that’s for sure! I’m pretty sure that Isaac gets even sexier in this book and I didn’t think that was possible! I LOVE him and Isabelle both together and separately! They are both fantastic characters! Once Isaac find out that Isabelle is actually an FBI agent I found myself screaming at him to listen to her! I desperately wanted them to be together! I am totally an Isaac and Isabelle fan! I love that Isabelle isn’t a needy girl; she is tough but also has that naive side which is looked after by Isaac. Things are also starting to come out about Isaac’s past which is intriguing – he is still as mysterious as book 1 but his character is definitely emerging more!
The writing in this book is amongst some of the best I have ever read. Not once did my attention waiver! As with the first book (which you should read before this one by the way) with every turn of the page I wasted more and more! I couldn’t get enough of Isabelle and Isaac. I don’t know how I have missed this author previously but she is definitely my new favourite of 2017! I don’t think I need to question whether book 3 is going to be good because based on the first two it can’t be anything but!!

Unraveling an Enigma is the second book in the Enigma series by Shandi Boyes. This book is not a standalone and must be read after part 1, you do not have to read the entire Perception series (even though you totally should) in order to be able to follow along. This book picks up where the last one left off and Isaac is in the police department waiting to find out why the FBI has arrested him. He still doesn’t understand why Isabelle lied for so long, all he knows is that his heart is breaking and walls are going up to surround it after this crazy revelation. Once he is released from holding without being charged, he runs as far and fast from Isabelle as he can, but she is determined and even more so after she gets suspended from the FBI for having a relationship with Isaac even though neither have admitted anything. Isabelle is heartbroken that Isaac found out this way when she had been meaning to tell him and now to make it worse he will not give her a chance to explain. We all know Isabelle though and she is not giving up. She continues to work towards proving his innocence. Will they both be able to move on from the damage that has been done? And when the worst possible situation happens at the end of the book, will Isaac be able to keep his promise to Isabelle to keep her safe?
I am so in love with Isaac I may have to fight Isabelle for him… just kidding but seriously I love that he is getting his own books and even though we do not have all (or very many) secrets at this point I still want the world for him and if I can’t be with him then I give Isabelle the okay. ☺ I do really love her though too, she was put in a horrible situation for the very beginning and I believe that she did the best she could. Now that she is trying to make things right, it makes me like her even more. Well done with this book and I am off to read the third part!

The ending of the first book has hurt Isaac’s and Isabelle’s relationship so badly that it may not be able to recover. Isaac has known that Isabelle has been hiding something from him for month, but now he knows what that something is. He is extremely angry with her, but the chemistry is still there. Isabelle is placed again in an uncomfortable position that is not really her fault. However, she is paying for it, both personally and professionally. The question is can Isaac and Isabelle overcome the damage to their relationship and the outside forces trying to tear them apart.
Oh my goodness! I feel that this series just gets better with this second story of the Enigma series. I just love Isabella more in this story. She tries her best to do what is right and look at the gray in life. She knowledges when she has done not handle everything the best way and tries to make it right. I love that about this character. I feel that I got to learn more about Isaac in this story, but I am hoping to learn even more in the next story. I did really like Hugo in this book. And then there are some books that make you say WTF did I just read! How can it “end” like that!? Why Shandi Boyes, WHY?!? That’s how I felt after finishing this book!
OMG what a better story line this one has but with the same intensity as book one. I really felt like book one was just about Isaac and Isabelle’s uncontrollable sex life, but I can now see it was the building up for THIS BOOK! This story continues off right where book one, Enigma of Life left off. Isaac and Isabelle have been separated by the truth that Isabelle is an FBI agent and she may have withheld that information from Isaac. He finds out when she has to arrest him. The chemistry these two have is just as hot as ever but because Isaac gets arrested there is way less sex! Book one was over the top with it, which made my feelings for the characters just so so. This book there is a little more “unraveling” of the characters’ personalities and actual character, making me love them both! And then there is this enlightenment for me:
“It is hard to explain, but this is us, we show our affection through sexual contact. Our love, our desires, our needs, they are all reflected in the most intimate ways.”
This was the eye opening into Isaac and Isabelle’s fast paced relationship that I needed. My feelings about book one changes a little with this statement. I found this book was much harder to put down than book one. ~Darn 9-5 job!~ I can not wait to see what Boyes brings to the next book. I definitely recommend this book but only after reading the first one.

Unraveling an Enigma is the second book in the Enigma series. The book is written by Shandi Boyes. You will have to read the first book before reading this story. This story picks up straight from the first book. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is about Isaac Holt and Isabelle Brahm. Isaac is strong, powerful, protective, smart and possessive. Isabelle is strong, smart, loyal and strong. Isabelle is a F.B.I agent, she loves her job, she's great at her job, maybe too good. Isabelle never expected to fall for Isaac, but she did. Isaac fell hard for Isabelle too, he's never trusted anyone, the way he trusted and cared about Isabelle. But she betrayed him when she arrested him and lied to him about everything. Isaac is still hurt, he can't get over the betrayal. Isaac keeps replaying every step that went on between him and Isabelle. It's eating him up. But Isabelle wants to do the right thing, she wants to clear Isaac's name. Isabelle cares deeply for Isaac, she does not want to lose him, so even though Isaac wants nothing to do with Isabelle. Isabelle will still the right thing, and clear Isaac's name. Isabelle will protect Isaac. I really enjoy both characters. Isabelle and Isaac are great. The chemistry between the two are perfect. I recommend reading this book. This is a great book. Book 2 starts right where Book 1 left off. It does have a quick recap, so if you haven’t read Book 1 before starting Book 2 – you will at least know where we are in the story of Isaac and Isabelle.
“No one will ever fully understand and enigma” and while Isaac is the Enigma, it’s Izzy he doesn’t understand. After spending time together and feeling like he really got to know her, at the end of Book 1 – Isaac discovers that she is not who he thought she was. Book 2 begins to unravel the complexities of both H and h. The characters are well developed and the story is flowing perfectly. Just like Book 1, there is mystery and drama and sex and romance and sex and more sex. The cool thing about this continuing story, is as soon as you think you have something figured out – there is a shift in the paradigm and you learn something new.

I am so glad that I’m able to read these books in quick succession. I don’t know what I would have done if I had to wait for the cliffhangers to be resolved (Book 2 also ends in a cliffhanger).
This has been a great series to read and I would absolutely recommend it.

We pick up where we left off in Enigma, with Isaac being arrested by Isabelle and Isabelle crying, as always, while not knowing what is going on.
As you can imagine, there are consequences to Isabella’s actions or in her case inactions for not being truthful with Isaac and her friends. We do not ever learn or at least we do not learn in this book why they arrested Isaac to begin with.
Isabella is all said because Isaac dumped her (?) and Harlow was mad at her for the deception which almost broke up her relationship. Honestly, this book felt more like Isabelle finding out who her real friends are and possibly who is really after Isaac.
This time around, it’s Isabelle in the hot seat because Internal Affairs thinks that she was a snitch for Isaac or as they nicely put it, his prostitute.
This book wasn’t my favorite, we do see the reconciliation between Isaac and Isabelle, which was really nice because their connection is so intense; however, it really feels like you need to read Nick’s (Isaac’s baby brother) story to follow a lot of this book. It was like 50% of the plot suspense was focused on Megan, Nick, Jenni and the baby so I guess you have to read Player of Life to follow this plot line, I did feel like I was missing major information throughout those parts.
Now Isabelle is charged with Megan’s murder? What in the world is going on?!
Who is Brandon? He is way too mysterious and odd to not be a major player in all this craziness.

Unravelling An Enigma: Isaac's Story by Shandi Boyes is the second book in the series and for me is a five star read.
I loved this book and found it to be better than the first book. What an awesome series. This book can be enjoyed time and time again. It is amazingly intense and the author prepares you for the journey for you to take alongside the characters really well. The characters and story development were perfectly done. This book was extremely well written and has fast become of my favourite books. I will definitely want to one click future releases from this author. This book was full of different emotions with many twists and turns in the book that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end.I have the feeling that I am going to be seeing some special works coming from this author.
I could not wait to get to the end so I devoured it in one sitting. Incredible work!!

I adore this book and cannot wait to read the next in the series as well as other work from this amazing author. I will definitely be recommending this author to everyone I know.
