Protection #7

Mine to Share

Rate this book
Five murders, one killer, and a chance at an unconventional happily ever after. Two years ago, flirty FBI agent Jameson Bend was the crush I left behind.
Today, the grumpy Detective Slade is the man who stars in my dirty fantasies.

When my autopsy findings connect five recent murders committed by a single suspect, Jameson and Slade join forces to help solve the series of homicides. Toss in my emotionally abusive ex-husband stalking me, and I’ll not only need Jameson and Slade’s help to piece the clues together on the case but also to protect me from my ex’s attempts to force me back under his control.

As we work side by side in the heat of the investigation, our longing turns into desire, and soon we’re tangled in a passionate affair that could cost us our jobs—and lives. They cater to every side of me, one sweet and sensitive, the other possessive and protective. I never expected to end up with two men, but now I can’t imagine my life without them.

But with the killer hiding in plain sight, I walk right into a carefully planned trap.
If my men can’t get to me before time runs out…
Our happily ever after will end before it even gets started.

Mine to Share is a standalone, multi point of view, MFM, age gap, grumpy/sunshine, second chance, forced proximity, dark romantic suspense. Each book in the Protection Series can be read as a standalone, but because of character crossover, they are best read in order. Please note this book is for mature readers due to detailed sexual content, foul language, discussion of abuse, and violence.

If you love a little darkness, murder, and possessive alpha heroes with the need for control mixed into your suspense, then this series is for you.

Mine to Share was action packed, suspensful, steamy and incredibly enjoyable to read. I have not read the previous books in this series but I didn't feel too out of the loop. Jameson, the behavioral unit FBI agent, finds himself working a serial killer case. Rain, the cute as hell coroner knows Jameson and is excited to be sharing some space with him for a bit. Slade, the grumpy detective and Rain's shadow, is also working alongside Jameson and Rain and it's not long before everyone starts catching feelings. Well more feelings than was already established! Because Jameson wants a MFM situation, Rain is TOTALLY ok with that and Slade just wants Rain.

In the midst of solving their case, these three learn that the bond of friendship can morph into something deeper and more meaningful quickly. Will they all three jump and see where it goes?

Rain's inner thoughts were so relatable and I loved all her quirks. She was such a great heroine. Jameson was a perfect mixture of dominant and teddy bear (but never submissive) and I loved that. Slade was protective and dominant and I adored the friendship he struck with Jameson. These two worshiped Rain and she definitely deserved to be someone's complete focus.

“It’s a part of who you are, Rain. If I can’t accept all of you, then I don’t deserve any of you.”

All around a good romantic suspense with plenty of heat and a plot to keep me engaged!

This is a MMF romance, with a lot of humor, some serious situations, and a spicy good time!

The FMC Rain (love her name!) is an ME, with the two MMCs a detective and an FBI profiler. They are all working on a serial killer case together. MMC Detective Slade Taylor has worked with Rain for a couple of years, and is a very muscular, tall, tattooed ex-football player. MMC Jameson Bend has a leaner build, chiseled jaw and is ever so good looking. Rain has been fantasizing about Slade since she started working with him, and now Jameson, who she worked with in the past and got close with, shows up, just when she is starting to date again after a bad marriage.

First off, the slow burn angst of this story is torture! Since we are reading all 3 characters POV, we know that both men are very interested in Rain. She is this awkward ME who prefers the company of dead bodies to humans, and doesn't think anyone like them would be interested in her. She is very, very wrong!

Rain's character is amusing, she enjoys talking to "her" dead bodies while she does autopsies. Slade is this grumpy big guy, but once we get to know him better, he ends up being a grumpy yet super protective and loving person, he even has a pet cat, that has his own room! Jameson is more in touch with emotions, and really helped Rain make the leap to end her bad marriage a couple of years ago. Jameson had booked a hotel that was in a really bad part of town, so Rain offers her guest room. With both Rain and Jameson attracted to each other, it doesn't take long for them to kick up the spicy meter.

Slade, although slightly obsessed with Rain, has decided Jameson is better for her, and isn't really mad when they start hooking up. Luckily for Slade, Jameson is more into threesomes, as he prefers to be told what to do, so he drops hints to Slade that Rain would be ok with having both of them, at the same time. It takes an annoyingly long time for Slade to come to his senses. If you like a slow burn, this is like the slowest burn I have read, and it is so hard, no pun intended, waiting for the spice to hit with all 3.

Beyond the spice and romance of the story, I really enjoyed the story itself, and how the three characters worked to solve the serial killer case. It was a really interesting read, so not only do you get to read a romance, but also a crime mystery as well!

Some fav quotes:
"I did just have a one-sided conversation about my dating life with a dead woman, so..."

"Apparently, she had a thing for tatted giants."

"I'll lift you up on this counter like I imagined last night and make you scream so loud your neighbors will hear you begging for more."

"'Good girl,' he praised. Those two words sent my stomach flipping. Pressing my thighs together, I attempted to ease the steady throb the entire five-minute encounter had created but it only made it worse."

"Tell me. Are you a good girl who does what she's told or a naughty one who likes to be punished?"

Thank you to Hambright PR and the author for a review copy of this book.

I am not a huge MFM reader, but I am a big fan of this author so I gave it a try. I loved it! The suspense elements were top notch - I did not guess the bad guy and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I absolutely loved the relationship between the three main characters and how it came about. I absolutely loved Jameson and how he was with Rain. His friendship with Slade was so fun and I loved the banter between all three. If you are a romantic suspense fan, I definitely recommend this book and series!

OBSESSED!

I am a true crime girly through and through and this book kept me FED!!

Our main female character Rain is a newly divorced medical examiner who connects the dots on some dead bodies and finds that there is a serial killer in their area. She works alongside a department detective named Slade who is a broody and silent ex-nfl player who she is swooning over and has a crush on. Enter the FBI agent who she did her training with and this becomes a MFM entanglement.

Absolutely devoured it and got me out of a dreaded slump. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a crime mystery, detective mfm romance.

I love romantic suspense so I was excited to read this book! Rain, Slade and Jameson have great chemistry! Yes there are dark moments and suspense but also some really funny moments too (especially some of Rain’s jokes.) I liked the overall mystery/whodunit vibes and this story definitely kept me guessing!!

I really liked the author’s writing style and will definitely be reading other books from this series. It was fun to see these three characters (An FBI agent, a detective and the ME) get together to solve the crime and we get some spicy scenes too!

Mix suspense with hwat MFM action. You are hooked from the beginning and as the story grows the heat rises. Mitchell did a great job catching your popular serial killer story and mix 5 degree heat with Dr. Rain, Slade and Jameson.

Rain Jameson & Slade
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

An FBI agent, an ME and a detective.

Jameson and Aaron knew eachother from working together two years prior. Then she took a job as the ME and works with detective Slade. There is a serial killer on the loose who is killing young men, this gathers the attention of the FBI. Jameson had a crush on Rain when they first met but she was married so nothing came of it…… now she is divorced and she has eyes for Jameson and Slade. They are all working of the serial killer minders together and they become closer and end up being together.

HEA— this book was pretty good some aspects of Thai book were 🙄🙄 but i enjoyed the serial killer background.

He's so tall and handsome as hell. He's so bad, but he does it so well
🎶

In a high-stakes world of murder and desire, Rain (h) finds herself caught between two intense men. Two years ago, flirty FBI agent Jameson Bend (H) was the crush she left behind. Now, she’s drawn to the grumpy Detective Slade (H), who haunts her fantasies. When her autopsy findings link five recent murders to a single killer, Jameson and Slade team up to crack the case.

─── ・ 。゚☆: THOUGHTS*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

[Jameson]

“I told you before why I like the idea of three. I enjoy giving up control when I can, when the trust is there. It’s not about me being sexually attracted to the other male partner—it’s about her. If she’s happy being taken care of, then that’s what matters, whether that’s me sitting back and watching her face as she comes around your dick or eating her oh-so-sweet cunt while she sucks you off. As long as she’s turned on by it and not uncomfortable, then I’m game. But no, I don’t want to touch your dick. No offense.”

Jameson has always had feelings for Rain, ever since they first met back when he was still climbing the ranks before becoming an FBI agent. Now that they're reconnecting, he’s determined to make his feelings known, and insecurity is not a part of his game plan. He’s straightforward and knows exactly what he wants. Having grown up in a family where polyamory was the norm, Rain has always been open to the idea of loving more than one person at a time. This makes it easy for Jameson to approach her; he knows she’s not burdened by the usual reservations about dating multiple people. For him, transitioning into a relationship with Rain feels natural and uncomplicated, especially considering their shared history and chemistry. Jameson is a shameless flirt, always direct about his intentions. His boldness might come off as fast-paced, but it makes sense given that his feelings for Rain have never truly faded. Reconnecting with her feels like picking up where they left off, reigniting a spark that had always lingered beneath the surface. As Jameson makes his intentions clear, it creates a contrast with Slade’s more reserved approach. He’s not just a flirt; he genuinely cares about Rain's happiness and well-being. He understands that his demanding job can take him away, so he wants to ensure that she’s supported, even if that means sharing her with Slade. His willingness to step back when needed shows a maturity that’s refreshing, especially in the context of a romantic relationship. Jameson wants Rain to be taken care of, and he trusts Slade to do that when he can’t.

[Slade]

All I’m saying is think about it. Between you and me, while I’m here and when I’m back in Dallas, we could offer her the type of relationship she deserves.”

Slade has been harboring feelings for Rain for a long time but has always doubted he’s good enough for her. The age gap and the toll his former career as an athlete took on his body leave him feeling inadequate as a partner. He worries he can’t meet her needs, both emotionally and physically. But then there's Jameson, who steps in as a supportive friend and encourages Slade to express his feelings for Rain. When Slade finally starts to engage more actively in Rain’s life, she can’t help but welcome his attention. Rain has always had a crush on him, and now that he’s flirting back, she’s all in—no questions asked. Jameson acts as the missing piece of the puzzle, helping to push their relationship forward and create a dynamic that makes their feelings undeniable. It's interesting how his presence catalyzes everything, allowing Slade to step out of his comfort zone and finally pursue what he's always wanted. Slade might have a possessive side, but he’s surprisingly open to sharing Rain with Jameson. He knows that both he and Jameson can offer her different things, and he respects what she needs. Slade is attuned to Rain's desires and supports her independence, even if it stirs up some jealousy. Rain, on the other hand, appreciates having both men in her life. She feels safe turning to Slade for protection, knowing he’ll always be there for her.

─── ・ 。゚☆: OVERALL*.☽ .*:☆゚. ───

The plot felt painfully predictable, which really took away from my interest in the story. It was clear from the beginning that it wasn’t going to be Agent Jennifer; instead, all signs pointed to the other detective. Her suspicious behavior and presence at the crime scene made it almost too obvious who the culprit was. I was hoping for some twists or surprises to keep me engaged, but it felt like the narrative was leading me down a straight path I’d already mapped out.

Mine to Share is the seventh book in the Protection series. However, I did not feel lost starting with this book. This was my first romance suspense ready and first of Kennedy Mitchell books. She had me hooked from the beginning!

Our FMC, Rain, is the quirky and endearing medical examiner of Santa Costa. Her inner monologue had me laughing out loud.

Jameson, one of two irresistibly swoon-worthy leading men, is a former detective turned FBI profiler. When he reunites with Rain—the woman he once resisted due to her marriage—their rekindled connection is undeniable, and now that she’s single, their attraction ignites with electrifying intensity.

Slade, our resident grumpy MMC, rounds out this trio. He was ready to retire—until Rain showed up. He stayed to protect her, scaring off every man on the force in the process.

As Rain reconnects with Jameson, their chemistry reignites, but she finds herself equally drawn to Slade, even though she’s convinced he doesn’t feel the same way. Meanwhile, Jameson and Slade form an instant friendship that can only be classified as a bromance.

I absolutely adored this trio! Their playful banter, undeniable chemistry, and deep-rooted friendship infused the story with warmth and authenticity, making it all the more captivating. And the MFM logic is such a refreshing take on their relationship.

The serial killer subplot is absolutely gripping! I had my suspicions, doubted myself a few times, but in the end I was shocked at the revelation! A must-read for fans of romantic suspense with a thrilling edge. Definitely a must add to your TBR! 💖

Thank you @kennedylmitchellbooks and @hambright_pr for the gifted ebook opportunity in exchange for my honest review, it was a wonderful read 📚💖

My Initial Thoughts

I was drawn into this book because of the synopsis, my only regret.. I haven’t read this series sooner, and I need to start the protection series from the beginning! I loved the fact the element of crime and romance are put together and had me devouring the book. I liked the characters straight away but the initial element that really pulled me in was the prologue from the unalivers POV adding to the intrigue of the plot.

Plot

The plot has everything! The romance, the crime fighting, the spice. It’s action paced and I just really enjoyed all the elements. The slow burn between Rain and Slade. The tropes were great as well and I can really see this whole series being turned into an actual series. I found the plot easy to read and addictive, despite the fact I was reading book 9 first in this interconnected standalone series, so ill work my way through them all now. The last 40% of the plot really ramped up the heat and my it had me in a heat. The crime elements throughout the book was vivid and detailed and gave you a real feel of all the emotions that the 3 MC’s felt, adding the multiple POVs and I was in my element. Although I guessed the culprit from the first time they appeared, it still was a fantastic wind up to the end which was dealt with incredibly. All that danger, I was on the edge of my seat, well bed, while reading it.

Characters

Aw these characters. Rain is such a sweetheart who had me giggling so much at her awkwardness with people that are living and her jokes about the unalived people. She is so smart and has such a caring nature, that I just felt drawn to her character. Jameson was a character I envisioned as Chris Evans (the actor) and he has big golden retriever vibes. Then stroll in my favourite – Slade, the grumpy, huge, loveable teddy at heart. For some reason while watching WWE I found myself envisioning him as Damion Prist then I just couldn’t unsee it and the rest is history. He has such strong touch her and be unalived vibes and the age gap.. phew this tropes. The 3 together made perfect sense!

Recommend

If you love romance with crime fighting characters, a lot of spice and MFM then.. this book should be on your reading list. Although maybe start from book 1, not 9 like me.

Favourite Quotes

“Raindrop.”

“An accident? I’ve never accidentally unalived anyone, despite the urge.”

“Who knew spending so much time with the living could be so exciting?”

“I’ve never met another Rain, and even if I did, I know they could never compare to the original. You’re one of a kind, sweetheart. Now and always.”

Favourite Chapter/s

Some of my favourite chapters were 9,12 and 33.

Summed up in one sentence

Well that was a burning, epic, crime with the intensity of a very hot romance between 3 very intense, different, but perfect together MC’s.

Overall Wrap up

If you can’t tell from my essay of a review, I absolutely loved this book and everything about it. The characters, plot, the ending was so satisfying, and the danger in the situations made me sit on the edge of seat.

This was my first read from this author but if Mine to Share is anything to go by it won’t be my last. I loved her characters, the dynamics and chemistry between them and her storylines that were well developed

Profiler Jameson Bend arrives in the coastal town of Santa Coasta when Detective Slade Taylor reached out to the FBI for help with a serial killer targeting men. Jameson was pleasantly surprised to find a familiar face from his days as a cop working as the medical examiner. He’d had a mild flirtation with Doctor Rain Evans but as she was married it didn’t go anywhere but the one good thing to come out of their friendship was he helped her to see just how mentally abusive that relationship was. Now there’s nothing stopping him from pursuing a relationship with her except for the mutual if unrequited attraction between her and a certain detective…. but then again Jameson has never had a problem with sharing.

I loved the slowburn development of the relationships especially when it came to the physical aspects and how it didn’t have all three characters jumping straight into bed. Things started slowly between only the heroine and one of the heroes before evolving into including all three. As the most experienced of the three when it came to sharing Jameson was the driving force initially as, even though Rain had grown up in a poly relationship, she hadn’t participated in one while it was a complete eye opener for Slade who had to be persuaded of the advantages and the benefits to Rain. I especially loved the friendship that developed between Jameson and Slade which was brotherly in its tone with Jameson definitely the teasing younger brother in the equation and some of their dialogue was amusing as Slade made it clear there would be no crossed swords between them so to speak while Rain was oblivious to all the undercurrents going on as she was dealing with her own problems, not least of all her developing feelings for both men and the worry that one would be hurt – well I did say she was oblivious! All this is set against the gripping plot line of an escalating serial killer. Yes I figured out who the killer was early on but the overall story was well written and it wasn’t a case of suspending belief when the killer was finally revealed.

Oh I liked this book, the dynamic of these three was good to see, the friendship of Jameson and Slade? How special is Rain? I LOVED IT!

The story of this trio was great, it starts when Rain does an autopsy and finds more evidence along with three other bodies that it is a serial killer and our detective Slade asks the FBI for help and they send Jameson who is a profiling agent to try and find out who the killer is. The relationship that these three formed was beautiful, I really liked how they understood Rain and made her feel seen, how they protected her from her ex and I really liked Rain's personality, how introverted she was but also how focused on her work.

The suspense? One of the best, I felt like I was watching a chapter of Criminal Minds while reading all this. The huge twist at the end? I will say that I was right about who the killer was. A good read that, despite its length, felt very good to read.

Thanks to Kennedy L. Mitchell and The Author Agency for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

---

Oh este libro me gusto, la dinámica de estos tres fue buena de ver ¿la amistad de Jameson y Slade? ¿lo particular que es Rain? ¡ME ENCANTO!

This is my sixth book by this author and I loved it.

Mine To Share is the 7th book in the Protection series, but my first book of this series, and I'm adding the first 6 to my TBR.

Rain, is the medical examiner in Santa Costa, she is quirky, talks to "her🤣" dead bodies in the morgue (ncis moments here) and is obsessed with tennis shoes, and can't seem to make friends. Believing that no one likes her, because of said quirks.

Jameson, was a detective and now he is an FBI profiler. He gets a call out to Santa Costa to help on an investigation and re-connects with Rain, the woman he had an undeniable connection and chemistry with two years prior, but never crossed the line because she was married.

Slade, he is a former pro football player, and has spent the last 12 years in law enforcement. He was about to call it quits when Rain became the new medical examiner, and he has stayed to protect her. He is grumpy and basically threatened every man on the force. (Hence the h having no friends 🙈)

When Rain and Jameson re-connect all cards of the table as she is single and the spark they once had is still there, but she isn't only attracted to Jameson, but she believes that Slade doesn't feel the same way about her.

Jameson and Slade develop an instant friendship, Jameson being the communicator of course 😂. Rain, loves both men and the chemistry is 🔥 the steamy moments 🥵🌶️🔥

And the storyline involving the serial killer, had me on edge...had my suspicions on who the suspect was, and was really glad my suspicions were right even though I did doubt myself a few times because this author just made things seem as if someone else did it 🙈

I've been excited for this book after being introduced to Jameson in Mine to Love. I knew it was going to be a steamy one full of action and suspense after learning about him, Tallon and Remington.

Rain the ME connects different deaths- leading them to believe a serial killer is on the loose. In walks Jameson the FBI agent assigned to the case. Plot twist- Rain and Jameson know each other from the past and there's lingering feelings from that interaction.

The problem? There's another guy who would love to claim Rain- the enormous broody detective Slade. He doesn't believe he's good enough for the optimistic and bright Rain, but he also doesn't want anyone else to claim her and has warned others off of her.

When the three of them find themselves working together on this case- feelings can't help but being revealed. We already know the guys feelings towards Rain and Rain totally wants both guys for herself. It's revealed that Rain's mother is also in a MFM relationship and it's not something new to her- so bring on Jameson and Slade.

I absolutely love getting the POV from all three of the characters because it allowed us to get a glimpse into each of their feelings at important parts in the story. This book is the definition of slow burn because each of Kennedy L. Mitchell's characters are in denial of revealing their feelings at first.

The relationships that develop when everybody is finally on the same page is *chef's kiss*. I absolutely love these three together because both of these men balance out Rain perfectly!

Like all of her other books I did not expect who the killer ended up being and I love it! I cannot wait to dive into the remaining books in this series.

This was a really good book!! It had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. It was not only mysterious but funny and so hot!!! Like fire hot the chemistry between Rain, Slade and Jameson was outstanding. And I really liked how both men was just all about her but Jameson liked the control that Slade needed. And Rain was so quirky and just her own person and I loved how both men loved her how she was and let he be herself and encouraged her in all her quirkiness. Now as far as all the murder and mystery I kept going back and forth between 3 people for a bit. Then I was like no it's between these two and right as I figured it out they told who it was!!! I usually figure it out a lot sooner most times so I really like how she kept me on my toes. So if you enjoy some romantic mystery with some funny parts thrown in you will love this book. The only thing I wished it had was a bonus epiloge that showed them a few more years down the road but that's just me being picky and doesn't take away from this book at all. It was a great read!!

Thank you to the author for providing this ARC.

This was my first book by this author and I loved it !

Rain (medical examiner), Jameson (FBI agent) and Slade (detective) are investigating a series of homicides together. Rain and Jameson have history, Rain and Slade currently work together (and have a massive crush on each other).

The three of them have amazing chemistry together and complete each other (at work and in their relationship). There is great balance between the development of the romance and of the solving of the murder investigation and I loved trying to piece the puzzle to figure out who the serial killer was.

Ok so i went into this book knowing basically everything that's written on this picture and you know what, the selling point (for me at least) isn't even on here. This book is a spicy Criminal Minds episode. I started it just excited to get into a new to me author's mind and apparently it was just my mind but minus the ADHD. I was immediately hooked and side eyeing everything and everyone trying to figure out the guy, unsub 😉, was. The main female character, Rain, is a medical examiner and I love her and her thought process so much cause it reminds me of myself and then the men? Lordy the banter these two had not only subtlety ribbing each other but the hurt her and 💀 vibes? 10/10

ARC Review: Mine to Share
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Mine to Share is a thrilling blend of romance, spice, and crime drama, with an engaging who-done-it mystery that keeps you hooked. This was my first MFM romance, and I really enjoyed it! The chemistry between Jameson, Slade, and the heroine is electric, balancing tenderness with intense passion. The crime subplot adds depth and suspense without overpowering the romance, making for a well-rounded, addictive read. I hadn’t picked up a crime story in a hot-minute, but this was great balance. Highly recommend for fans of steamy, high-stakes romantic suspense!

Sexy and enthralling.

This book was captivating from the very beginning.
Slade, Rain, and Jameson were amazing characters who fit so well together. Their chemistry was on point, and their respect for each other was beautiful.
They brought the best the other had to offer, and the plot complemented their relationship smoothly.

Kennedy has completely blown this one out of the ball park, Jameson, Slade, and Rain are my absolute favourite.
It's hotter than Hades, thrilling, the chemistry was off the scale, i
couldn't look away, i didn't want to put it down, the suspense, the thrill of the chase for who was responsible. Every thought I had was proved wrong.
My Senses were on  high alert throughout at times it felt like I was right there, feeling everything that they were, and my emotions were a mess.

If you love a thriller with all the steam and suspense, this is definitely one for you. it's absolutely brilliant.

This was a fun read! I love that it’s a spicy version of criminal minds! I’m fairly new to “why choose” books, and I’m not sure it’s something I absolutely love, but I did enjoy the protective/obsessive way the two mmc’s were with the FMC!

The plot was very engaging. It sucked you in from chapter two and kept your interest the entire way through the book. I loved how quirky Rain is. She’s odd in the best way. Says awkward as crap things and it just made me laugh so much! The way Slade and Jameson was obsessed when her anyway was so cute.

Also…can we talk about how I couldn’t stop visualizing Reacher from the prime video show as Slade?! 😂 who wouldn’t want that massive man to protect and love them? He’s grumpy but such a softy! And then you have Jameson. He’s the cocky, good time guy who is so good with her emotions and talking her down from situations.

The way I would be okay with this who situation says something about me I suppose 😂

I was able to figure out who the unsub was pretty early, but I still enjoyed the story and getting to how it all unfolded.

Rain is the ME that has recently determined that a string of murders are connected, meaning a serial killer is on the loose. Slade is the detective working the case but is coming up short and doesn't know where to look. Enter FBI profiler, Jameson, who is sent to help solve the case and just so happened to work with Rain years prior. Jameson and Rain fall right back into their flirty banter, making Slade instantly jealous and wishful. I really enjoyed this story! I loved how the story was focused on the case and had a good build-up to other things.

Long time readers of Kennedy L. Mitchell have been waiting for Jameson to get his HEA….and boy oh boy was the wait SO WORTH it! So worth it! Friends. If you were in love with Jameson in Mine to Love you have seen nothing yet. Jameson Bend is the dream book boyfriend. DREAM I tell you. A new profiler for the FBI he is on his first solo mission and off to a small town where the ME (medical examiner) thinks they have a serial killer in their town. Dr. Rain Evans is the new ME. Might be new to her role as an ME but this woman is brilliant. Detective Slade Taylor is an amazing homicide detective and works closely with Rain. He is enamored with her.
Jameson has worked with Rain in the past and has never been able to get her out of his mind. He cannot wait to work with her. Jameson is so thoughtful, kind, supportive and it seems knows just the right things to say to but both Rain and Slade at ease. Jameson is sensitive and sees that Rain’s emotional needs cannot be provided by one person. He knows his limitations, and wants better for his relationship.
Dr. Rain Evans recently started a new life and career in a new place. But man is she lonely. Her job is lonely and busy, leaving not a lot of time for a personal life. But she longs for a connection. And has seriously crushed on Detective Slade Taylor since starting her new life. Rain is one of my favorite heroines in this series. She is brilliant. So smart, funny, witty, and cares so much for people. On top of that she has a fun style and enjoys the little things in life.
Slade on his second career and several failed relationships which makes him keep his distance from Rain. This man is so drawn to this dynamic charming woman. Slade has a giant heart and is so protective of those that he loves, but he feels that he really needs to protect Rain from himself. The process of Slade understanding that he truly is part of what Rain needs was so realistic in my opinion. Slade took some time and there were events that put things into perspective for him, but once this man embraced Rain and Jameson it was so beautiful. And his take charge approach had me fanning myself.
If you have never read a book about a poly relationship or MFM this book is a must read for you. Jameson, Rain, and Slade all have an amazing connection and friendship. They understand one another and support each other emotionally. One aspect of this book that I think was the most amazing is that their relationship is not based on sex. It is emotionally supporting one another and being there for each other. Yes, they also have an intense sexual connection as well, but that is secondary to their already formed emotional bond. I was rooting for these three from the get go. Their relationship growth was amazing. No swords cross, but Jameson and Slade are extremely close friends and there are “group” activities (that are so amazing…so hot I feared my ipad was going to explode)! In the midst of these three finding love and building a relationship they also were searching and putting the clues together to find a serial killer. I truly adore how Mitchell intertwines both the case and the characters' finding love. The tidbits and clues she gives you throughout the book truly make her books unputdownable! Trust me, I say you are going to want to binge read this book! She also gives us side characters at a point when you least expect it and makes you fall in love with them.
If you are new to Kennedy L. Mitchell I highly recommend this series and book! While it is a standalone you will want to binge this entire 8 book series and move onto some of her other series as we wait for Mine to Shelter. Mitchell’s books give us intense suspense, mystery, bad guys, amazing alpha heroes, steamy steamy scenes, so much heart!

Mine To Share, by Kennedy L. Mitchell is a provocative MMF Romance between socially awkward Dr. Rain Evans, a Medical Examiner; a broody Detective named Slade; and flirty FBI profiler, Jameson from Nashville. Connecting the three is a mission to track, profile, and find commonality in identifying victims of a Serial Killer with a body-count of five, before another victim is discovered. Together, they team up professionally and have a meeting of the minds and eventually of their hearts.

“Serial killer. The FBI coming in to help. Slade acting strange. Why did I get a feeling my boring, predictable life was about to get a lot more interesting?”

Adding to the tension and suspense is Rain’s ex-husband, a raging and out-of-control stalker. Detective Slade is fiercely protective of Rain, having her and Jameson (who’s out of town from Nashville) stay at his house. It’s here where my favorite character was introduced: Sneakers or Sneaks for short — Grumpy Slade’s beloved cat with his own bedroom.

I loved Rain. She was open-minded, having been raised by polyamorous hippies, and she was slightly socially awkward, on account of spending all day with the dead in a morgue. These character attributes endeared her to me more and at times her blunders had me literally laughing out loud.

“You don’t know me, Slade. I’m awkward, anxious, and prefer the silence of my morgue to being out with the living. It’s nothing new. I’ve always been a bit of a loner.”

I loved that Slade had a cherished cat that had his own bedroom. So relatable, honestly — my cats have their own playroom! 😂

Jameson was also such a great character and he was always pushing the boundaries. This trait brought the throuple together and the trio had an unconventional, albeit beautiful love story with both men falling deeply in love with Rain; both providing her with something the other couldn’t. Their common goal was to cherish and protect Rain, and between the both Slade and Jameson, they came through for her each and every time!

This is Top Tier Dark Romance remixed with a procedural Detective Mystery-Thriller. The whodunnit isn’t predictable at all, with many red herrings, and red-hot, spicy scenes along the way. Five stars. I recommend this to fans of unconventional happily-ever-afters!

Many thanks to the Author and Hambright PR!

4.25stars--MINE TO SHARE is the seventh instalment in Kennedy L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult PROTECTION erotic, romantic suspense series. This is FBI agent/ profiler Jameson Bend, former professional football player Detective Slade Taylor, and coroner/ medical examiner Dr. Rain Evans’ story line. MINE TO SHARE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. FBI Agent Jameson Bend was first introduced in books six MINE TO LOVE

NOTE: MINE TO SHARE features a M/F/M menage relationship between Jameson, Rain and Slade.

Told from three first person perspectives (Jameson, Slade and Rain) MINE TO SHARE follows the search for a serial killer targeting young men in Santa Coasta, California. Dr. Rain Evans is the medical examiner tasked with examining the bodies but working side by side with Detective Slade Taylor mean up close and personal with the man who stirs something deep inside but Rain never expected to come face to face with someone from her past, FBI Agent Jameson Bend, a seasoned profiler sent in to help take down the person responsible. A crappy no-tell motel, a break in at Rain’s, and a mutual attraction between Jameson, Rain and Slade pushed our trio together in an effort to amass the clues pointing a finger at a desperate killer. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Slade, Rain and Jameson, and the potential fall-out as Rain is targeted by her past, and the person responsible for a series of kills.

The world building focuses on the investigation into a possible serial killer, killings that at first do not look connected. On the surface , the young men have nothing in common but as the killings increase, the killer become more meticulous, and the team discovers a possible connection to it all.

The relationship between Slade, Rain and Jameson is a menage affair. Slade has lusted after Rain for as long as he can remember but having failed at his own previous relationships, Slade is in no condition to promise Rain a happily ever after. Jameson has had experience with menage relationships but having been the odd man out on his las affair, Jameson is looking forward to starting a life with Slade and Rain. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

The secondary and supporting characters include several law enforcement members including police detective, FBI and the medical examiner’s office. We are introduced to Detective Hudson Mott whose story line is next in MINE TO SHELTER.

MINE TO SHARE is a story of power and control, betrayal and obsession, revenge and murder, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, detailed and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined, dynamic and strong.
