Colorado was supposed to be my haven. A place to lie low and avoid my abusive ex for a couple of days. In no way did I expect to stumble into a naked man’s garden and watch him change into a wolf…
Dean Blackshaw, the delicious-smelling, naked guy I witnessed do the impossible, seems dead set on proving not all men should be avoided. That some might actually be worth falling for. But he isn’t in my future. I have a life waiting for me in Nebraska and a career that I spent years building. One I have no intention of abandoning for someone I suspect is keeping secrets from me.
I’m used to managing on my own, in life and in business. To have someone watch my back is a pipe dream that belongs to someone else. Dean says I’m bull-headed, and maybe I am. Unfortunately, so is the abusive ex who followed me to Colorado and intends to do me harm.
If heroes exist in this world, I’ve never come close to finding one. But if I want to survive what’s coming, I’m going to need one. Dean is determined to be that guy. Can I trust him?
Due to adult themes, adult language, violence, and steamy scenes this book is recommended for 18+.
Everything was just so awkward and disjointed. Like she can work as his private chef and that would count as experience? She’s comfy staying there after a few days of learning literally nothing about this guy? Zero wolf action/information until much later in the book than you’d think? Getting promoted in a kitchen job after a week? It was like reading a loose outline of plot points that had very little storytelling between them.
If you’re like me, you didn’t give Dean much thought before now and you were mildly disappointed that Nathan didn’t get a book first. I rescind my objections. This book was wildly refreshing. It was lovely to finally see a male who wasn’t a hulking alpha beast grow in love with a woman because he was kind and good, and not because she couldn’t get over her list for his body. No matter what we say, THIS is the love story we need.
A pretty boiler-plate romance plot with the abusive ex pretty summarily taken care of and not enough character development on the MMC's part. I had a pretty good understanding of the FMC's character, but barely learned anything about the MMC himself.
A little less sexual wet some drama, but not more than the others. Let's package use less savagery but still very nice and pleasant. I like all the other things I just described so it's not a critique of a book. I don't mind the savagery. I don't mind the violence even the explicit sex. I don't mind, but this one was very mild compared to the others.
I love all of Eve’s books her story’s and world building is amazing an you feel like you’ve knew these characters for life. Can’t wait to read more!! Would definitely recommend all Eve’s books
Again, I want to know what the second person is thinking. All this men are doing stuff but why? She wasn't that interesting and very trustworthy for someone on the run. Not much people around to interact and even that is limited between the two of them.
It was a good read. These shifters don't mark one another or middling one another. All-in-all still a good read. I think they should all get together one time
