An NHL star player pucked up my life, and now I have one rule: Avoid all ice hockey players.
But when I run to my hometown, desperate for a fresh start, I find that it's easier said than done. My dad is the coach of the newest team in the NHL and offers me the job of PR Director to these gorgeous players who are walking disasters.
They say that cocky hockey players are obsessed with their sticks. It turns out that three of them are also obsessed with me.
First, there’s the charming, playboy Captain. Then there’s the scorching-hot twins. One brother is a fighter on the ice but has the heart of a golden retriever, when he takes off his skates. The other is intense and tattooed but sweetly protective. Yet they’re all hiding secrets that could blow apart the team.
My job is to keep these three out of trouble. But will I break my one rule for them? Their careers depend on winning this season, and my new life depends on beating them at their own game.
Will falling for hockey players puck up my life again? Will my heart be broken or is this my second chance?

Was hopeful for this but it didn’t deliver. It’s clear that it was the first collab between authors and I hope it’s the last because it just didn’t work. The story was choppy as it was clear who was writing and the plot did not flow right. Also why not make it a MMF because Eden was definitely an afterthought in the relationship and he deserved better than Robyn.
I'm going to start this review by saying that I realize this book is part of a duo and that a lot of my issues might be cleared up by reading the second book in the series. However, I couldn't really get into the first book how I wanted to, so I won't be pushing through the second book in the series. This is just a classic story of girl gets divorced, moves back home, bangs a guy from a bar she's known for all of 5 minutes, gets a jobs through straight up nepotism, girl is forced to move in with 3 guys (one of them is the guy she banged from the bar) and told not to fuck them, then immediately fucks 2/3 of them and starts a polyamorous relationship. Ya know, classic storyline. Honestly, the whole thing had an air of a telenovela series. Felt like the author was reaching into a bowl of tragic back stories and randomly assigning them to characters. I think giant chunks of the book (especially when Shay & Robyn start hooking up) feel very stilted and awkward. Like the dialogue is how aliens would impersonate us talking to one another. I get that there are some kinks in this book ... but I think it's a stretch to like a certain thing during sex with someone (I'm thinking the leather scene on the Harley right now) and call it a "kink." Too many kinks get thrown around in this story, when it really is just trying new sexual experiences. And the role of "Dom" is woefully misrepresented and portrayed. I felt like too many loose ends still exist by the end of this particular book. And yes, I realize that there's a second book and I'll never know if these issues of mine get addressed. But I'll feel how I damn well please. That being said, I feel like the issues that Cody has experienced with his dad in the past and current should have been addressed further than a half assed phone call with his sister following a horribly disastrous dinner. They don't talk about it again or have the dad apologize or even uncover more of that back story. And how dare that dad accept his daughter's polyamorous relationship and not accept every piece of his son at the same time?! As with most of these hockey romance novels, I came for the sex scenes. And while the sex scenes the author does play out are lit ... there is so much that was left unwritten!! Like, Shay and Jude are together and all we get is a hand job, edging and blow job? Ridiculous. So much untapped potential in their relationship and honestly, in group sex scenes as well. And Robyn never has sex with Eden?? That seems woefully unfair. (They probably get together in book #2, but I don't feel like the reader should have to wait until the second book! And can I just say that Robyn's relationship seems pretty exclusive to Jude & Shay and they seem to leave Eden out A LOT. It seems to me like she neglects him a lot and that he should honestly resent it. I definitely would if I were in his shoes. All in all, the sex scenes are likely worth the read, and maybe all my issues get resolved in the next book. But I just couldn't get into this book as much as I thought I would, so I'll never have my questions answered, as I won't be reading the next one.
As a Canadian, I think my citizenship might be revoked if I didn’t love hockey fiction. Stories like this one simply reaffirm why I love the genre so much. Robyn is a survivor. In fact, her whole little family are survivors. And the accounts of what they’ve come through tried very hard to shatter my heart. But in true “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” fashion, these four individuals have risen to the challenges life presented and fought their way through. I adored watching this family find their balance and pull together as enemies and circumstances tried to break them. I’m so glad to know that this wasn’t the last we’ve seen of them because I’m not ready to let go of any of them just yet. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
After a messy divorce from her hockey player Ex-Husband Wilder, Robyn (FMC) is back in hometown trying to start her life again. When a job proposition is offered to her that seems to be good true she finds out that it involves her living with 3 hot hockey players.
What I loved the most about this book was the dynamic the guys had with Robyn. The living arrangements meant that we found out gradually about each characters backstories even the parts that were sad to read. A great start to this series and one I enjoyed reading so much.
I absolutely loved the book. I knew it from the first page sold me . On on the suit case. Loved the charters and the story. I recommend this book. Need a hard copy now
*Why Choose *Contemporary *Multi-PoV *Hockey themed *Sad pasts *Forced Proximity *Twins *Second Chance *Bi-Awakening *building harem (3) *fast burn *standalone Hearty Hockey HFN This story follows Robyn as she tries to flee her cheating, star hockey player, ex-husband - it’s enough to have driven her off of hockey players for life 🙈 yet fate has other plans for our leading lady… Not only does her dad offer her the position of a lifetime as the PR Director for his hockey club Bay Ridge Rebels she’s given three of the teams worst offenders to manage 😫 and boy does she have a lot to sort out! We have Shay the loveable golden retriever who uses his personality to hide some deep-set insecurities; his twin Eden is more introverted with an intensity about him mixed with sweet protectiveness; finally we have captain Jude, the ex-best friend whose got so many layers under his cocky @****** personna… each have distinct personalities but they bounce off each other really well 🥰🥰 and they don’t give Robyn a chance to deny what’s going on between them 🔥😍 they each have to let go of some of their fears and tendencies but they work together as a found family unit to overcome some challenges that arise. This is a sweet start to their story, which I believe will be followed in the next book 😃
Another stunner! Once again I'm pulled into this author's work and falling in love with these characters right away. Being Pucked is a hockey RH romance that has some serious content that is discussed, but still brings in softer, sweet moments to balance everything out.
Ryn is a great mix of clumsy and fierce determinism. Returning home after her divorce, she has sworn off hockey players. She even made a guide to help. It didn't help that her father (ex hockey player) is now in charge of the Bay Rebels and has a job offer for her. That's how she ends up in charge of the PR nightmares.
Of course her ex-best friend and the terrible Prince twins are the hockey players she ends up moving in with. It should make it easy to stick to her guide except...she already had a wild night with one of the twins...not knowing he was a twin or a hockey player. Emotions are high and Ryn doesn't want to do anything to ruin her job or hurt her dad's reputation.
But past truths come out and it pulls all of them together. Ryn has to decide what matters most to her. Plus, she still has to deal with her ex-husband, who is stalking her and threatening her.
Great story and I can't wait to see where the next book leads this rebel bunch.
You would think that hockey and a quadruple are the ingredients for a perfect book. If we were talking about Pucking Around, I would be inclined to agree. Being Pucked, on the other hand, falls flat in every dimension possible. Each MMC has a ridiculously convoluted backstory filled with trauma and torture, and it creates far too many complications along the way. The chemistry is incredibly lacklustre and the smut scenes bored me to the point that I began skimming them 60% of the way through (and that is NOT the kind of reader I am). There was like 400 conflicts in this book and by the end I was exhausted and unimpressed: childhood abuse X crazy ex X randomly unforgiving dad X contract that says you can’t be together X sexuality trauma X random second chance X complicated family dynamics. You get the gist right? It’s all too much. The instalove made about ZERO sense, and I’m convinced the author has never considered that people can casually sleep together. Finally, the OCD representation was laughable at best. Don’t read this!
Being Pucked was such a hoot! Truly, if you love sports romances where the girl doesn't have to choose, this one is a must! Hockey is my favorite sport, so I always love finding really entertaining hockey romances. This is my first RH sports romance, but I am ALL for it. MFC Robyn is no stranger to the world of hockey. Being previously married to an NHL star player and her dad being a coach will do that for you. Now finally divorced and back home, she finds herself back in the world of hockey when she begins working for her dad's team. Being the Bay Rebels PR manager certainly keeps her on her toes, and when three very sexy hockey players, two of which she has history with, become her roommates, keeping herself on the path of no hockey player romance becomes a challenge. Add on the added challenge that her ex is still in the picture, unwanted of course, and there is tons of tension, both romantic and personal. I cannot wait for book 2!
How many tropes can we fit into a book and it still be this good? Forced proximity, hockey romance, twins, bi-awakening, grumpy/sunshine, forbidden, etc
The FMC is returning home after ending a disastrous and toxic marriage. Her family and her have all gone through h-e- double hockey sticks (hehe punny) together and have walls up against the media, hockey players and the world in general. She swears off hockey players but fate has other plans for her.
After a new job puts her in close proximity to not one but THREE mega hot hockey players, her plans are out the window! We’ve got Shay, the sweet golden retriever who you’ll fall in love with instantly, his brother Eden whose super introverted with a dark past but such a caring soul and last (but not least) Jude who gives off major jerk vibes but secretly cares more than he wants to admit.
"“Life’s short, right? I’m not wasting a single heartbeat. If I can take joy in something, then I’m seizing it.” "- Shay
Robyn had just escaped... Escaped a failed marriage, escaped a soul crushing toxic relationship; she was finally free! Being offered a plum role as the team PR director was a dream come true... The only rule Robyn swore she refused to break, was to get involved with another hockey player.... Then Shay, Eden and D'Angelo happened, and all bets are off!!!
This is a very entertaining read! Plenty of heat, but lots of caring and compassion too. Broken people coming together to become something more than they had ever been. 2nd chances don't often come around, but when they do.... It can break you, or set you free... Grab ahold and hang on!
This was such a fun book! Robyn is the FMC and totally clutzy and cute. With a great sense of humor and a tough past, shes a joy to read. D'angelo, Shay and Eden are the MMC's. You've got the ex best friend, bad reputation, face of an angel Captain of the team. The loveable star player with puppy energy and then the quiet, tattooed guy who has hidden depths. I loved the non fraternisation clause in the contract, which is immediately ignored but much lamented! Robyn's family is so much fun as the side characters - the banter and situations are just fun! Steamy, light hearted and lots of fun. I loved this book
What do you get when you put the rebels of the Rebels under one roof??? Awesomeness!!!
I love why choose romance and hockey romances are great — I love love love when they're together. I love it more when it's done well and ‘Being Pucked’ is. Robin is the head coach’s daughter and she has to manage 3 guys 24 hours a day- D'Angelo (former best friend) and Shay and Eden (twins). This romance is hot hot hot 🔥🔥🔥 and is so well done. The supporting characters are amazing and I can't wait to learn more about them.
This is Book 1 of ‘Bay Rebels’ and is a HFN. I am so excited to read the next book!!
Wow, I just want to start by saying this book is over the top hot!!! Twins with English accents. That should be enough right there, but wait, there is more!!!! Hockey!!! Such a good book. I couldn't put this book down. I read straight throught. I need the second book. There is still so much I need to know. I can not wait to see how everything plays out. I really loved how we started to see the development of Robyn and her men. They are all broken at the beginning of the book. We find out so much heartbreaking information about everyone past. They are really starring to heal each other and become a family. So good!!!
Being Pucked is the first in the Bay Rebels Series by Rosemary Johns. We meet Robyn, a newly divorced lady coming back to her hometown for a fresh start and to get away from her abusive ex. She makes a vow to never date a hockey player again. I loved Robyn and her brother's relationship. I enjoyed Robyn getting to know Eden, Shay, and D'Angelo. What a complex group of people. There is no cliff hanger at the end but there will be second book so we can see how they work everything out. I can not wait to see Robyn and Eden get together. Loved it. Looking forward to the next book!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved Robyn, she's gone through a tough time but was determined to make something of herself now she'd come out the other side of it. My heart broke for all the pain and strife Jude, Shay and Eden had been through in their lives, but I loved their dynamics when they got together, everyone had a perfect role that they suited, and they embraced it. That ending with Wilder was just so perfect! I am already looking forward to reading the next book and finding out if they can hold on to the new dynamic they found.
I loved this second chance, why choose hockey romance! Robyn returns home after her divorce from a narcissistic hockey player determined to steer clear of all hockey players from here on out, including her former best friend from college. Her father, the head coach of the Bay Rebels, has a job opportunity for her, but it puts her smack dab in the middle of a whole team of hockey players. She is being tasked with turning around the reputations of Jude, Shay, and Eden. In the process of doing that, she falls in love with them. There is lots of steam, and a little bit of drama. I love seeing Robyn find herself after her terrible marriage, and the guys support her in every way. So so so good!
Man this book is SO GOOD! Robyn moves back home after a divorce from her awful exhusband who just so happens to be a hockey player. She vows never date or fall for a hockey player again. But, fate has a funny way of working things out. Robyn’s dad is the coach of the Bay Rebels hockey team and he gives her a job as the PR director. Her job is to help the three trouble makers of the team clean up their act. The bar scene in the beginning of the book had me laughing out loud. I love the characters, the plot and just everything about this book was a win. Well Done.
Amazing book, so many of my favourite tropes in here. Enemies to lovers Twins Hockey Reverse Harem Bi-awakening Loved Ryn and her trio of hockey hotties, Jude, her childhood ex friend who she has so much history with and the twins. Sensitive Eden, past trauma having left him insecure his boisterous twin Shay his extrovert protective opposite. They have a fantastic dynamic and absolute trust in each other. Such a well written story with great characters that bring the story to life and make you smile. Have added the next book to my TBR as this was so good.
A hockey romance with heat on and off the ice. Robyn is a magnet to hockey players. She even wrote a rule book for herself to help stay away from them. But everything and everyone seems to be against her doing that. This story has several characters. Most you will love instantly and some you will love to hate. Robyn is definitely our main character and even I was against her following her own rules. The story has some serious spicy moments. It is a why choose and also has M/m/f/m. So be aware that the scenes can be with several characters at once.
This us the first book in a fantastic new series. I was hooked right from the start, completely drawn in and couldn't stop reading. Rosemary A. Johns once again does an an amazing job creating amazing characters and the world around them. I love Robyn and her men. We have Jude her ex best friend and the sext twins Shay and Eden and Robyn is forced to live with them to keep them out of trouble. Robyn's brother and her best friend are great too. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Rosemary Johns you wrote a wonderful, delightful, beautiful love story. Robyn had a ch$t husband but she got away and went back to her hometown and family. Robyn got to use her PR skills to help D’Angelo , Shay & Eden images so they can stay on the Bay Rebels hockey team. While doing that she gets to know Shay and Eden and reconnect with D’Angelo. Feelings grow between all four and those scenes are scorching hot. It was fun watching Robyn grow as a fierce fighter for her men and herself. Her men were a tremendous help. It was a truly lovely story.
I read this in one sitting!! I was immediately sucked in. Robyn quickly becomes such a lovable character. She's funny, strong, witty and determined! She's starting over and leaving a terrible situation. I love how she vows to never date another hockey player and then unknowingly falls for one! But can you blame her?? Shay, Jude and Eden are crazy hot! And sweet, and smart, and kind and just everything that she needs in her life. Together, the four of them fit the missing pieces from their lives they didn't know were missing. Loved it!
This is an amazing story. Robyn is flying home to try and rebuild her life after her divorce and runs back into her first love who broke her heart. I enjoyed the character development in Robyn, Jude, Shay and Eden. There is great background given and I like that this book does not leave you hanging at the end. I am excited that we will get to visit with the characters again and learn more of their story.
Robyn has sworn off Hockey Players and when she movies home after her divorce is final she is given a pr job by her father the mission keep three sexy hot hockey players one her ex best friend and the others Twin Brothers. D'Angelo, Shay, and Eden were just the perfect book boyfriends. Shay was Sassy, Jude dominate and Eden quiet but strong and he loves Cats. Rosemary has hit the puck in the net with this one.
Hey, gorgeous, will you date me or do you still only see me as a friend? This book is all about a group of people, misfits, rejected, abandoned, and broken, force together by circumstances outside of their control. Together the struggle to be better than they are apart becomes the theme and they use that strength to overcome. It’s funny, steamy, and heartbreaking, all the feels.
I really enjoyed Robyn’s story! She tried so hard to stay away from hockey players, and with good reason. When she gets thrown together with three of the star players, one of whom she has history with, all bets are off. I loved the guys, especially Shay. He is such a sweetheart. I’m very curious to see where their story leads!
Robyn has come home for a fresh start but it is not going to be easy as she get the job of looking after three hockey players. They have been causing trouble and she needs to get them to behave better. One set of twins and one other but it seems they want her more than anything. Can she keep them out of trouble? Will she get in trouble with them? See where they will lead you
After an awful divorce from her hockey player ex, Robyn has sworn off hockey players. However, an unexpected job fixing the reputations of three troubled players falls into her lap when her dad needs her help. Can Robyn stick to avoiding romance with the men that treat her better than her ex ever did?
This is a sweet, steamy polyamorous romance. Great read.
