The main part of this book is delightful if a little old-fashioned - and of course, now out of date. But the update added in by Gerald Jenkins is in a completely different style - there seems to have been no effort to blend in, and there is nothing about the scientists responsible for the more recent discoveries. Instead he has focused on the complexities of atomic structures and quantum theory. A shame.
