Was he, or wasn't he...her husband?Widowed, wealthy and beautiful Madeline Stone was well on her way to fulfilling her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Then, six years after being lost at sea, her prodigal husband returned. And to Madeline's amazement the newfound Russell Stone was nothing like the old, womanizing rascal she'd married. Her new man was loving and considerate, kind, romantic and...very sexy. Madeline found herself doing something she thought she would never do--falling in love with her husband.
Now Madeline faces a dilemma: Should she accept her happily-ever-after ending, or should she expose the troubled, yet loving stranger who now shares her bed?
National Best-selling author Adrianne Byrd has always preferred to live within the realms of her imagination where all the men are gorgeous and the women are worth whatever trouble they manage to get into. As an army brat, she traveled throughout Europe and learned to appreciate and value different cultures. Now she calls Georgia home.
Looking back, Adrianne believes her passion for writing began at the ripe old age of thirteen. It was also the age when she was introduced to romance novels by a most unlikely source: her fifteen-year old brother. The book was probably given to keep her out her brother’s hair, but it was a gift that changed her life.
In books, Adrianne found a way out of her awkward teenage years and into a world of fictional friends that would stay with her for a lifetime. It wasn’t long before her imagination took flight and she was writing her own love stories. Within a year, she completed her first book, which she vowed would never see the light of day.
Writing remained a hobby until 1994 when a co-worker approached her with an article on Romance Writers of America. Who knew there was an organization of women just like her? By 1996 she sold her first novel, Defenseless, to Kensington Publishing.
Her first release received rave reviews by Romantic Times and fans. Her other novels were consistently selected as the Magazine’s Top Pick. In 2001 Slam Jam nominated, Say You Love Me, for best romance. Her 2003 release Comfort of a Man won Romantic Times Best Multicultural Romance, Romance in Color’s Readers Choice Awards for Favorite Book, Favorite Hero, and Favorite Heroine; Shades of Romance’s Best/Arabesque Romance Book; Slam Jams Emma Award for Favorite Traditional Romance; Romance in Color’s Reviewer’s Choice Award for Author of the Year, Book of the Year and Best BET/Arabesque Book. And lastly Comfort of a Man was a 2003 Georgia Romance Writers Maggie finalist for best Contemporary. In 2004 she released her first romantic suspense novel, If You Dare, with HarperCollins. In 2006 her novel Measure of a Man was nominated for Best Multicultural Romance while her Harper Torch novel Deadly Double was nominated for an Emma. In 2007 she won an eharlequin.com Joey Award.
In 2006 Adrianne along with fellow writer Niobia Bryant penned her first Urban Novel, DESPERATE HOODWIVES, writing as De'nesha Diamond. The book is set for release February 2008 from Simon and Schuster. For more information, visit http://www.deneshadiamond.com.

There's something about this book that strikes you at your heart. I'm not gonna write a proper review because anything I say would feel like I'm spoiling it for you and this book is really to good to spoil. I love the heroine. This character was a true women who faced tragedies dead on and tried her best to come out on top. And the hero *sighs* man oh man do they need to manufacture him and leave him on my door step. I'm not kidding. He was to good to be true and at last he was nothing but a strong fictional character that i would snatched up in a heart beat if he was real. Lol. Such a good read.
*sigh* Happy Reading *sighs* looks off dreaming...... :)
Wow! Lots of shocking surprises in this one!!! Madeline didn't deserve to have a lying, cheating, husband. So when Russell and his current mistress are killed, in a plane crash, Madeline is relieved. No more embarrassment, humiliation or loneliness. But then 6 years later, he's alive and back home! Or is he????
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I thought he was sooooooo sweet going into her room at nights while she sleeps to give her a kiss (sighing). Great read, didn't think I would like it but a keeper this one.
First time I've read an Adrianne Byrd book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the story. It was simple, yet touching. And even though I figured out the plot fairly early I still enjoyed the unveiling. Very, very clever Adrianne Byrd.
Ms. Byrd has spun another very romantic, yet emotionally thrilling adventure for our reading pleasure. I read this book in 5 hours, it was definitely a page turner. When I first started reading, I have to admit I didn't think I was going to like our heroine, Madeline, she was getting on my last nerves. At first, I thought she was just another "gold-digger", who ONLY married Russell for his money and probably deserved to be treated so terribly. And Cecelia, her mother was just AWFUL, definitely not the "motherly-type". Christopher Stone was EXTREMELY hard to like, although I did sympathize with him and what he was going through emotionally, he often came off as an arrogant jerk. However, as the story went on and this written "movie" started to unfold before my eyes I fell in love with the main characters. Russell Stone, well, the NEW and IMPROVED, Russell was not only eye-candy, he was kind, gentle, considerate, loving and patient. And with his loss of memory and his new found charm he was sweeping his cold-hearted wife off her feet, and I was enjoying every moment of it. I enjoyed the interaction he had with his children. He was like a BIG kid and they couldn't get enough of each other. And the sparks that were flying between Madeline and Russell were off-the-charts. Stranger or not, this Russell was DEFINITELY a keeper! But could Madeline forgive and forget the past and build a lasting relationship with this AMAZING stranger that was dwelling in her house, slowly melting her icy heart and making her fall in love AGAIN??!!! A very sweet, romantic tale! You WILL NOT be disappointed.
OMG!!!! I already know I am a hopeless romantic but I LOVED this story. If you love romance, need a lighthearted read from current stress or just want to give romance a try, read this story!
No you can't borrow mine because it is an autographed copy.
Her mother could be a pain. Cecelia was a money 💰 hungry cougar. I did feel sorry for Maddie. I couldn't be in a loveless marriage with a cheating husband like Russell. I would have divorced him long before the second child. Money can't keep you warm at night. But Marcellus is the man. Love the epilogue.
From the beginning I was eager to learn what was really going on and at the end i thought that was well played out. My heart began to sink when his wife popped up. I'm so glad for the HEA!
I love a good love story and this book did not disappoint me. The twists and turns kept me entertained. And because I am a sucker for a happy ending... I was thrilled with the ending.
Just re-read this for the 2nd time, and it still captured my full attention through out the whole book. Never would I have thought everything that we thought to be true was really not. Adrianne Byrd really tricked the reader good with this one. I loved hot M&M had such great chemistry, and how they came together in the end as a family.
Great story and great book. Christopher's pain actually broke my heart. I love how he wasn't Russell, very good plot twist. I don't ever remember reading another memory loss book where the person turned out to be someone totally different.
