Ruby Grace has had enough.

She’s been rejected by her fated mate.
Forced to blood bond with a vampire.
And erased from existence by dark witches.

She’s not going to take it anymore.

She’s sick of all the powerful supernaturals using her for their advantage.

When all this began, she thought being gifted with unique magic from the gods would make all her dreams come true. But being star touched has been nothing but a nightmare.

Now, just as she’s making a plan to turn her life around, the dark witches of the Blood Coven come to her with a deal.

They want the Key of Hades—an ancient artifact that can resurrect the dead. If Ruby helps them retrieve it, they’ll reverse the spell that made the entire world forget her existence.

However, finding the key won’t be easy. Ruby will have to sneak into the fae realm to complete trials that will test her physical strength, mental endurance, and push her far beyond her breaking point.

The one piece of good news? She won’t going alone. Tristan, Hazel, and Benjamin will be joining her. But she has to admit: she’d feel a whole lot better if her fated mate, Connor, was along for the mission. They have unfinished business, and this quest might be their only chance to mend their mate bond before it’s too late.

And thanks to a strange twist of fate, Ruby might just get her wish.

Connor, however, may not be her biggest problem. The fae realm soon proves to be far more dangerous than the witches let on—and filled with more surprises than Ruby ever imagined.

Join Ruby and her friends as they embark on an epic adventure full of magic, romance, and twists you’ll never see coming!

Life has been so unsettling for Ruby a lot has happened recently between finding out she has a wolf inside her been rejected by her soul mate then being kidnapped falling for a vampire and finding out that even though her parents have had their memories of her wiped the Blood Coven witches are willing to replace them but there comes a price they’ll do it if Ruby completes a task for them but she’ll have to take a blood oath so she can’t back out.. the one thing the blood witches don’t for-see happening though is when they perform the blood ritual they activate Ruby’s earth magic so yes she’ll help them to get her parents memories back but she’ll do all she can to stop them after with whatever plans they have and maybe she’ll end up with more than she bargained for with regards to the men in her life between a vampire that helped her or the wolf who owns her heart and soul what’s a girl to do!!! Guess we’ll see in the next book 😁

This book was a rollercoaster that completely swept me up from the first page till the last. It most definitely reignited my love for this series and more than made up for the second book. I did feel as if the beginning was somewhat rushed but the overall book was brilliant. Loved seeing a reunion between Connor and Ruby; I need more of their scenes. Also, Tristan needs to get out of the way. I don't trust him anymore. Though from the bomb dropped at the end, I have a feeling that's going to happen soon. Can't wait for the moment. So excited for the next book.

HUGE CLIFFHANGER! I need book number 4 asap. I felt like this book made up for the lack of action in book 2. There were lots more twists and turns and I’m dying to get answers on the questions I’ve been left with. I do wish there was a little more prospective from Autumn, and the twist with Jax and her really has me thinking they are mates. Over all I loved it!

Can it get worse?

Okay, to be completely fair, the storyline is good. Interesting even. But the story? No. It got worse.

Conner seemed bipolar in the previous books with his flip flopping about how both Autumn and then Ruby were both so amazing and all that but the in the same breath completely dismiss Ruby like she was nothing. Then this book rolls around and he finds out what Autumn did and suddenly he’s Ruby’s number one fan and “always was and will be”! Like what? Yep. It’s in there, repeatedly. And guess what? Ruby also gets EXTRA stupid and says things like, “He means that from the bottom of his heart and the depths of his soul” when he says he’s loyal to her and will always put her first. Like hello? He was putting you last since he’s known you! But suddenly, within the ten to twelve hours or so after knowing what Autumn did, he’s always loyal and putting her first? Dude, you proposed to someone else because you didn’t want her! Told all her secrets to your girlfriend AND rejected her repeatedly along with insulting her! And that’s just supposed to magically go away.

For all the people giving high reviews, you are all liars. Sorry, not sorry. This series gives whiplash. Tristan talking about he loves Ruby while also using magic in various forms to compel her feelings towards him. Ruby, a shifter, thinks it’s wise to let a vampire bite her to suppress her wolf, regardless of the reason. Her wolf seems way more intelligent than her and makes smarter decisions, except when it comes to Conner. She seems to look past all the hurtful things he’s done to Ruby.

Hazel has dissociative personality disorder. And is also a sociopath. This is disguised under the guise of her wanting friends. Maybe that the 16yo personality showing and another one is a sociopath and there’s at least one more in there. All of them power hungry. Who drugs someone, locks them up and then threatens them about their parents and best friend and then expects the person to be their friend and trust them? Hazel, that’s who. She kills people, easily, with no remorse.

So after being trapped in a basement for over a week, she takes a road trip. Did it cross her mind to escape? Granted, she’s broke. But, she’s a pretty female and has a teeny tiny bit of sense so I’m sure she could have found a job somewhere, far far away. Hell, even stumbled upon another pack on the west coast or something. Jax wouldn’t have been looking for her, neither would Conner because he was about to get married soon.

And the fae realm? OMG, a park INSIDE of Central Park, NY. Like… it’s so underwhelming. I’ve never read a book where the fae realm is so,… blah. The just go through a gate I Central Park and voilá! They’re in the fae realm. Well, only between 1 and 6am anyway. 🙄🙄 Ridiculous. Nothing is vivid and colorful, vibrant with greenery… nothing that actually makes you think Fae Realm. Barely any fae are encountered. There are no dwellings anywhere. Nothing. Just a walk through the park. That’s it. Literally.

Alas, this series is crap but I will keep reading because FINALLY information about the necklace was revealed and I’ve been waiting on Ruby to figure it out since the cell. She didn’t. Spoiler alert. Lol. But someone just outed Tristan right as the book came to an end. Go figure.

See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. This story would probably be a bit better if it was written in third person vice POV. Happy reading!

Spectacular.

I've been reading Michelle Madow's books since I discovered her in 2012. I should not have been surprised, but Michelle Madow surprised me again. I read Cursed Moon on an 11-hour flight in one day. I couldn't get enough, and a twist kept me turning the pages just when I thought I'd put it down. I was captivated by every page and wondered when Connor would come to terms with the fact that he needed to be with Ruby; he seemed to be living in denial, and at least, that was how I felt about him. I couldn't help but wonder what would happen between Ruby and Connor if they finally get together.

Autumn. I did not like her when she was initially introduced, and I still do not like her. I realize she was jealous of Ruby because she is Connor's mate, but that doesn't justify attempting to interfere with their connection. Part of me hoped Connor would discover what she had done and see Autumn for who she was. I knew that if Connor learned what she had done, it would certainly mean the end of their relationship. On the other hand, I admire Tristan and love how he cares about Ruby. I don't believe Ruby cares about him as much as Tristan cares about her, and I have a feeling he would do anything for her. I know that if Ruby ends up with Connor, Tristan will be heartbroken. I'm eager to see which of the two Ruby will end up with.

There was so much happening in Cursed Moon , and one of the reasons that I kept on turning the pages. I was intrigued to see if they could obtain the Key of Hades and what challenges they might encounter in doing so. I loved Ruby; despite what was happening and what she was going through, she kept going, not keeping her from her goal. At the end of this novel, I was most intrigued by Ruby's reaction, and I couldn't help but worry how much it would impact things. I'm excited to see the end of Ruby and Connor's journey.

I did not like some of the story progression and how one's morals were so easily disregarded.

Ruby is strong and at war within herself or more importantly her wolf. Rightly so considering the betrayal and rejection she felt from her fated mate. Nothing forced Conners hand to do any of that and he chose not to give a mate bond a chance long before Ruby came along. As a wolf who that would be rare to find, he needs to bow and scrape at Ruby's feet if he wants her back. That's assuming she wants to take him back.

On the flip side her wolf is adament that Conner is hers and does not like that she is with Tristan. He has only ever been kind and loving. Is it an act? I have a suspicion because that necklace he wears is important, but how much? If he hasn't deceived her and lured her into love then he would be the ideal male. If he has been then Ruby needs to put both males in their place and fight for herself.

Is it weird that maybe they could all three be together! The mate bond was there before she felt anything for Conner. But the moment she saw Tristan there was a spark... I dont think the necklace was the cause. She is goddess blessed so maybe she is meant to.

Then why turquoise eyes? What is special about her? I already figured she was adopted or something at birth.

A kiss or two happens. PG-13

We finally get what we wanted! Or maybe it’s just me but it finally comes to light that Autumn was involved with Rubys disappearance and Connor now knows she isnt actually safe with the witches and he springs into action.

The book is telling about the adventure to the fae world to get the key of hades. Connor shows up right before and takes the place of Benjamin because he drugged him and was no longer any use to the team so Connor has to tag along. It’s a tension filled adventure since there’s a love triangle between Tristan, Ruby and Connor. The three of them and Hazel go through many trials to reach the key and then at the very end the fae who guards the trials reveals that the necklace Tristan has been wearing is actually a love pendant and has been using it on Ruby to bring her closer to him.

The 4th book will be interesting to see how Ruby handles finding out about the pendant. I hope she’s mad as heck. I know I would be. Although Connor made a huge mistake by choosing Autumn I hope Him and Ruby can work it out. Because I don’t feel like him trying to be faithful to someone he promised to be with is a bad characteristic to have.

A quest for evil

Book three the storyline continues with a love triangle, at first it was Connor autumn and ruby.not that it ever began can't be mad at Connor he was noble in is promise to autumn they have been best friends since they was 14ish happy with each other never wanted to wait for their mates (personally I think autumn was smart and trying to stay high up in the ranks) but I was not happy with how he reacted to ruby she didn't deserve that.

So moving on in this book she moves in with hazel and she meets Tristan we the reader knows about the necklace and its control on her feelings (makes you want to root for connor). So we watch her find out if hazel is friend of foe and her friendship build up.
Off on a quest for hazel to find a key (she doesn't have a choice) Connor shows up and the fun begins (sorry no spoilers) nereida love her with the twist at the end (finally someone on ruby side)
Can't make my mind up about hazel yes she is power hungry and don't care who she hurts but also wants friends? She is only 16 so not sure about her one to watch.

I can't belive how bad this book is.
It's like an accident, were you can't look away..
The writing is so bad. There is no real charakter development, no world building.
Connor changed his mind about his fiancée on just one conversation and 6 pages. From "no matter what, I love autumn, she is the one I choose" to "I hate her, her betrayal can't be forgiven" even if it's a stranger who told him some shit over breakfast!
He didn't even asked her if it's true!
And Ruby.. Ruby fell in love with a guy she just met, like freaking Anna of Arendale!
Took him 9 days and a cell to make her fell in love with him while her soul is still chrused because of Connors rejection.

Than, everything is forgiven and forget the second she see him again and is so thankfull for just existing in her universe. Bleh.
Where's her rage? Her love for Tristan? Just fine with the wind?
All acting of the characters don't make much sense.
Hazel is the only one who is plausible at least, because she is still a child with too much power.

If you haven't already startet with this series, don't do it.

Ruby is at her wits end with everything that's happened to her so far and now she is told the spell making her family and friends forget she ever existed can be lifted if she brings the coven the Key of Hades. Only problem is that is is the Fae Realm. Her friends, Tristan, Hazel and Benjamin will be with her to help her. But at the last minute, Benjamin is replaced by Connor, Ruby's fated mate who had rejected her for Autumn but seems to have changed his mind. Through all the trials and tests they have to go through, Ruby especially has to face some danger. Will she be able to get the Key of Hades? I couldn't put the book down. So many edge of your seats moments that I was glued to the edge of my seat until the end. But Oh my, now I need the next book! This is a great page turning series that keeps you so engaged, you have to read it in one sitting! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Wow what an ending, I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Cursed Moon is book 3 in the Wolf Born series by Michelle Madow.

I loved this book and was happy to see that Ruby started to show how strong she is and didn’t take quite as much cr@p. She still had to bite her tongue due to circumstances but hopefully she’ll be able to really speak her mind in the next book.

I loved that Connor finally found out that Autumn was manipulating him and that she’d placed Ruby in danger but I wish that Ruby hadn’t forgiven him quite so quickly. Considering how awful he was to her she was very accepting although I know that’s the mate bond taking over.

I really loved this book and read it in half a day, I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for book 4.

It’s a book and series that I highly recommend ❤️

woah!

But I don’t wanna wait!!!! Oh my goodness. That lovely little bomb of a last sentence means book 4 will start out with a bang. Ok so now, back to review of book 2…. I was right!!! I just had to wait. Hazel is a good guy, but misguided and making bad decisions. Conner was blinded by loyalty and integrity. He was trying to do the right thing- but that’s hard when you’re being betrayed and don’t know it. Tristan is a good guy but made choices he’s going to regret. The witches are crazy lol. Jax and Autumn should run off together and be stupid somewhere else. Meanwhile, ruby is embracing what she is supposed to be. And though her heart is continually broken and betrayed, she’s still standing. I have no doubt she’s going to be better for it, but the heartbreak will still have a toll. I seriously cannot wait for book 4!!

What is a good paranormal book without the Fae? I'm so excited to see where this all ends and what the Hello is up with the whole gang up on Ruby stuff? Gosh the poor girl. I'm just glad Connor finally got his head out of Autumn you know what, but it took someone else to pull it out. I'm still not likening him. He has a lot to make up for. Rejecting his mate and all that stuff. I'm still feeling for Tristan. He wanted to do the right thing but had to go and mess with the wrong kind of people. Poor guy. Still up in the air about the whole thing.

What's up with Jak and Autumn? I really hope that these two get what's coming to them. Can you say ewww?

I stay up till wee hours of the morning trying to finish and find out what happens and I know that when all is said and done i'll be sad cause there is no more.

Love the series

Slow burn YA novel. 3rd in the series. Short little 250 page book. Easy reading. Fast paced. No real spice. FMC Ruby is a wolf shifter who has been touched by the moon goddess. Her fated mate Connor (also wolf shifter) initially rejected her for his long time gf but found out she had betrayed him and was planning to end the bond between him and Ruby by sending her off to the witches and vampires. A vampire Tristen is in love with Ruby and is trying to seduce her into breaking the mate bond with Connor by using a magical infused necklace. The witches send them all on a quest to get an ancient artifact and they face trials and quests. This book gives us a little bit of jealousy and more of the love triangle between the wolf and the vampire. Favorite book in the series.

After being forced into a re4lationship with a vampire by the Blood Coven, Ruby finds that she must retrieve a magical object from the Fae realm. If she doesn't, the spell placed upon her family (and the world at large) to forget her existence, will become permanent. Luckily she doesn't have to go alone. She is to be accompanied by Tristan, Hazel and Benjamin. At the last minute Benjamin is replaced by Connor - her fated mate, who had rejected her, but who now accepts their mate bond. The mission was not as simple as they thought it might be. With the various trials they had to go through, each and every one of their powers were going to be needed. At the end, Ruby gets a very unexpected and nasty surprise.

This is such an awesome series that keeps getting better with each book. This epic adventure continues as Ruby finds herself having to go to the fae realm to retrieve Hades key along with her friends. It’s a dangerous journey full of surprises and twists and turns, action, adventure and an ending that has you on the edge of your seat. Exciting and enthralling storyline and incredible character development especially Ruby who has been through so much, as this captivating and magical story continues. Very eager for book four.

Betrayal and the fae realm

Ruby is working with the blood coven but only because she has to. Due to a blood oath, she has to help Hazel retrieve the key of hades before Hazel will undo the memory spell. When Thalia comes to Connor and reveals Autumn's deception, he is disgusted and angry. Inviting himself on their quest, he ends up helping Ruby. But making it through the trials is going to be tough!

Really enjoyed it. Curious how Ruby works out her feelings for Tristan and Connor.

I was interested to see where the story was going to go, I wanted more adventure and movement in the story which we got.

It was great to see more about the different supernaturals on this world and the different things that they can do. I was wondering how Connor would be introduced back into out main ladies world and I like it, I can see some more issues for him going forward with that weird vibe with his gf and his uncle...

Not a fan of the love triangle as it does feel a little forced in sections.

Overall an interesting story and ready to see more

Cursed Moon (Star Touched: Wolf Born 3)

Cursed Moon (Star Touched: Wolf Born 3)  OMG 😳 new powers??? Ruby is finally embracing what she is supposed to be. And though her heart is continually broken and betrayed, she’s still standing strong. I seriously cannot wait to start book 4 in a few minutes.. This book was so full of emotions, I was freaking out during the trials, as if I was right there 🥰😍  !!!! Definitely worth reading and I absolutely recommend reading this series !!!

okay

Ok first off no steamy stuff so if wanting this is not it. The story line is entertaining. The whole Ruby believes everything Tristian says and does about made me want stop reading. Instead of trying fight for the mate she just walks away and almost instantly falls for another guy. Then add in, he says things that one would be wondering why would he be agreeing with the blood coven and convincing her. Really i think all 4 of the books could have been put as 1 book. Each book is about 265-280 with all the extra stuff. I will read the last book just find out the ending.

Getting ready to start their journey for the Key of Hades Connor throws a cog into their plan.
Ruby is stuck between Connor and Tristan during the trails and acting like Hazel's friend.
There is danger around every corner and they're limited in time,
When the return Nereida asks for payment and what she wants will enlighten Ruby.
I can't wait for the next one to see how Ruby will deal with everything and I think Connor and Ruby will have to face off against his grandfather and Autumn

My review of book 2 stated there were some slow parts and I had hoped the pacing would pick up in book 3 and I was not disappointed. Some points (the trials) had me holding my breath in suspense. Ruby is still being pulled in different directions - Connor finally learns the truth about Autumn & I am still on the fence about Tristan's true feelings but that cliffhanger has me counting down the days to the next book.

I have to admit this series has grown on me. I’ve settled into it nicely.
I’m still not totally happy with the writing. The story could be tighter and better but it’s got me reading (I’d hit a slump and was more going through the motions than actually enjoying the books). These are such quick easy reads and I don’t have to concentrate or follow too closely. So perfect for me at the moment. I might look at more young reads to keep me going.

definitely YA.. but some issues

I was expecting this to be a little more but the overall plot is there. Some issues I have. I’m writing this having read the first 3. Conner let’s Autum off the hook a little too easily. Ruby let’s Conner off the hook too easily. Mate or not- he betrayed her and his saying multiple times that as her mate his loyalties are to her before all- BS already proven. What has he done that shows he is trustworthy?

Excellent continuation of the series

Author has done a fabulous job of mingling magic with reality and leaves me looking forward to seeing how all these twists play out. You want Hazel's friendship to be real but you know what she's done in the name of the blood coven. The wolf mate bond is real but Connor messed up... is he worth forgiving? And there's way more to Tristan than what we've seen. Are these relationships real? Love this series

Cursed Moon starts off leaning hard into the insta-love vibe, but as the story unfolds, Ruby slowly begins to come out of it. Along the way, I finally got some of the answers I’d been hoping for. The adventure was entertaining, and Ruby ultimately learns something she truly needed to know; something that helps snap her out of her infatuation with Tristan.

This book felt like an important step forward for her character and left me curious to see where the story goes next.

Exciting
In order for Ruby to have her parents remember her she must help Hazel and the Blood Coven get the Key of Hades. This joins Hazel, Ruby,Tristan and Connor together on a trip into the realm of the Fae where they face many trials. A fascinating story to be sure.

Best book of the series so far! Page-turning action, great continued character development and interactions, and a fantastic adventure to boot! And, of course, the book ends on a cliff hanger. So I'll quote a line from most of my Michelle's non-series-ending book reviews and say, "Can't wait to see what happens next!"

The third book in this series is the best yet. Ruby is finally decidiing to take charge of her life and it's about time! I like where this rollercoaster series is going. Although the last book in this series was character development, this one returns us to the action, and does a wonderful job. This is not a stand alone book, because it picks up right where the last book left off. You won’t want to miss this one, and I’m waiting with bated breath for the next one. Great read.
