Kayleigh Halverson has always had goals for her life, and she’s finally at the point where she feels like she’s reached the major ones with regards to her job and her home.

Though her job managing a resort near Serenity Point is often stressful, Kayleigh wouldn’t trade it for the world. At the end of a busy day, she’s able to retreat to the cozy home she’s created for herself to unwind.

Unfortunately, things are happening at the resort Kayleigh manages that are worrisome. And even more worrisome is the arrival of someone from Remington Properties headquarters has shown up to investigate, and she’s not sure what to make of him.

Upon his mother’s death when he was fifteen years old, Hudson St. James learned his father’s identity and was thrust into a world in which, even all these years later, he doesn’t feel truly a part of.

Just back from a business trip on the other side of the world, Hudson is less than thrilled when his boss—and father—insists he go to Serenity Point to investigate some incidents that have occurred at the Remington Properties resort there. It’s his job, however, so Hudson arrives in Serenity Point exhausted and more than a little frustrated at not being given even a moment to breathe.

The manager at the resort is a surprise, and Hudson finds himself wanting to get to know more about her and her life in Serenity Point. Unfortunately, his presence at the hotel puts them at odds, since Hudson needs to make sure that Kayleigh isn’t involved in what’s going on.

Kayleigh isn’t sure what to make of Hudson. He is attractive, and his commitment to his job is something she can appreciate. However, he also holds her future at the resort in his hands, and she hates feeling that vulnerable to a stranger.

If they let it, what brought them together could keep them apart. Would they fight to overcome the differences in their lives, embracing a new life together? Or would they stick to the familiar paths they’d been on, dismissing the brief time they’d spent with each other?

Like most of the books in this series, this is also a good book and definitely deserved 5 stars but I gave this 4 stars only because this book according to me went like a sinusoidal wave giving me happiness and warmth and also sometimes it made me feel like "that shouldn't have happened that way"

Firstly I liked the story having a serious thriller element in the story which previous books never had. The way the story unfolded from there in until Liz's final meeting had me thrilled and good and if the book finished there I would have given it 7 stars too.

Then came the part in the story where I felt it shouldn't have happen part. The part where Hudson goes around the world for months getting angry and then visiting Gail and getting his faith back sounded to me like it was forced into this story because it is Christian story. The previous ones never had this problem. And also the way Hudson returned to his faith seems impossible to me. One more thing I found odd was the involvement of other characters in this book when compared with other books, but I think in order to keep Kayleigh's character same as shown in previous books it is like that

One final missing part is the author never told the readers why Alexander was interested and invested in Kayleigh and Wilder at least to my knowledge.

Held my attention the whole time

At a time when I have been in a reading slump - it was nice to find a pre-ordered book on my device. I started reading one evening and found myself drawn into the story. Bedtime called and it was hard to lay the book down while I "lived my normal life. Each evening I picked it up I was once again transported to Idaho. The last evening I read might have slipped past midnight as I just couldn't lay it down. Kayleigh was a very real person to me.

I’ve read all of Jordan’s books. All are sweet stories and have extremely likable characters who are often related. For whatever reason, I just felt that this particular novel held a depth of emotions and feelings and believability greater than many of her other recent novels. Kayleigh and Hudson’s relationship from coworkers to soulmates was a very satisfying arc. The book, though fiction, touched me deep in my soul and the numerous Bible verses centered on overcoming worry and anxiety comforted me. Like the main character, those feelings are one of my struggles as well.

I was a little, unsure how I was gonna like this book in this series. Kayleigh has been in the other books but just here and there. We really haven’t got to know a lot about her. So I didn’t feel I would have the connection with her that I did with the others that I’ve read so far. I was wrong. ☺️

Kayleigh is a strong, independent woman, but underneath there’s a great deal of insecurity and self doubt. And we see much the same in Hudson. I loved watching their walls come down, but they still remain true to who they are.

And it was fun to get to know Wilder a bit, knowing that his story is coming soon.

Once again, there’s a bit of suspense included in the story that’s not seen in each one of the books. In fact, this is a bit more mystery than we’ve seen in the other books so far. But again not frightening or tense just intriguing.

Binge read

I've been binge reading this entire series. I hadn't been reading as much Christian fiction and got behind on reading even my most favorite authors. I have been devouring this series for the past week and each one has been phenomenal and shows so much character development. The stories never fully end, they are continued in the next of the series. While each could be read as a stand alone, you get so much more out of them by reading the entire series. Thanks for another great story!!! I don't give spoilers but man ....be prepared for a ride with this one!

Kayleigh story

Being part of a big family Kayleigh was surrounded by many people who love her. Kayleigh manages a Remington resort and recently has had trouble. When headquarters decides to send someone to help, Kayleigh had no idea how that would impact her life. Will they get to the bottom of the trouble at the resort? Will she stop being a workaholic ways to get a chance at love?

Really enjoy this series and the love and friendship found among siblings.

Beautiful & Impactful

This was my favorite book of Kimberly’s so far because it related to what God had my husband and I had to go through before He brought us back together. While the story ended with a happily ever after, it did not glaze over the difficulties that transpired to get there; such as real life. I loved being able to connect to a story so deeply and relate it to my own life!

Kayleigh and Hudson

Wow I really loved this book for many many reason but the one that shouts No I can’t in this book “was I cannot go into a personal relationship with since you don’t have a relationship with Christ”. I don’t know who hurt the worst Kayleigh or Hudson. Read this book!! Now!!

Great story

A story that includes hotel management & dealing with corporate headquarters.
Kaleigh is the manager, with some department managers under her. Her brother works there during winter as a ski instructor.
Theft & other incidents are a puzzle to Kaleigh & then corporate steps in.
A great story of practicing faith & re-gaining faith.

Loved this book! I wondered how long Jordan was going to drag out the story and get things resolved :-) She handled the mystery about the resort problems and the various relationships very well. I can't wait for the next book!!

Great story standing strong in your faith

This book was very well written because in this day and time standing up for faith is not seen a lot. The focus is on other things in life.

Fantastic story!

This is another fantastic book by Kimberly. What I enjoyed the most about this book is Kayleigh's strong faith and belief in God. I don't want to give anything away, but you must read this book to know what I am talking about. You will enjoy reading this book.

good wholesome book

I like that it’s romantic without all the sex that it is in a lot of books.
Liked both of the main characters, even thought I wish the male character had had a little bit of a stronger part or character.

The Faith content in this book is really strong and I really appreciate the author expressed the disappointment of the characters toward God in respectful manner. At the end of the day our relationship with God should be a priority and what matters the most and other relationships flows from that.

Good story line

I liked the story like! It seemed like there were a few typos. At least 3 times, Hudson was accidentally called Hunter, and there were several sentences that were worded funny, I think a couple might have been missing a word.

Great Book

So glad Kayleigh held to her faith. It’s so hard when you like someone that doesn’t have the same relationship with Christ. Sometimes it works out but sadly there are times when it doesn’t.

A wonderful and beautiful story. The characters are friendly, strong Christian faith, and loyalty. I feel that with each book I read the more deeper and complex the message becomes to light, that God role in our life is a beautiful gift. I hope you enjoy this book.

Always enjoy Kimberly Rae Jordan’s books. It was emotional to read how Kayleigh lived out her faith. Sometimes God asks us to just be faithful. It sounds simple but can be really hard.

I enjoyed reading this latest instalment in the Halversons series. Interesting mystery woven into the story as Kayleigh & Hudson worked together to find out why their holiday resort was being targeted.

Back to faith

What a wonderful story. Though initially a heartbreak because Hudson didn’t appear to share Kayleigh’s faith. It all works out but I appreciated Kayleigh sticking to her guns about this so Hudson reevaluated his relationship with God so it all worked out.
