I must admit I read bits and pieces only, but my DH read this one and had a really hard time putting it down. He is not a huge reader, but this book and story grabbed him. He gave almost daily recaps of the story, which is why I didn’t actually read it. Watching him get excited and wrapped up in the book was heartwarming, so let him tell me about it. The story is about a family who loses their husband and father, so the mother goes back home to her parents. Learning life lessons from the grandfather really helped the two boys grow up. Highly recommend this book and author.

This book is a local history written by the author recollecting his raising in Southeastern Colorado. I enjoyed it mainly because of the local history and flavor.
