After my cheating fiance set my old life ablaze, I returned to Rosewood, the small town I grew up in.
Everything in Rosewood may have looked the same, but it sure felt different ten years later. When I moved into my late grandmother’s cafe, I had no plans of staying long.
Those plans of isolating myself in her shop quickly died. Nicholas Reid, my old rival from our high school volleyball team, found me minutes after entering town and seemed quite surprised to find me sneaking in during the middle of the night.
Since I decided to take over my grandmother’s shop and run it on my own terms, Reid started showing up nearly every day. His helpful act was most likely a charade, just like every other man who had made their way into my life. But as we became friends, I found myself wishing for more.
Learning to run my own business would be a challenging adventure, and with Reid living right next door I was bound to run into trouble. If luck was any factor, I was destined for ruin. Or would my luck in life and love turn around?
First of all… Reid sees this random (who he hasn’t seen for 10 years), decides he wants to…☹️ therefore he immediately breaks up with his girlfriend? That’s just😓 Also I can’t accept that Reid literally has a twin. Twins aren’t real so stop feeding into conspiracy theories. It’s not biologically possible?
My second major ISSUE is that CHARLOTTE (Krop🦊) is just not believable at all... Homeless at 13?? Evicted from her own house at the ripe age of Ag ?? Where was CPS? Where were the POLICE? ALSO THE MESSY BUN. IT JUST DIDNT STOP. Here are some moments which brought tears to my eyes and made my heart drop.
The third issue - her car gets stolen and she doesn’t give a fuck??
‘My car was gone. As in, totally disappeared out of thin air, along with my keys. I couldn’t even remember the last time I had them. A stolen car was the last thing I could handle mentally right now. So, I sighed, turned around, and met Georgia and Reese out front without a word. “Ready to go?”
I’m distraught. 😓
My fourth issue. Her skincare routine. What kind of monster does skincare in order of moisturiser, sunscreen and serum?? I am genuinely quite upset about this.
THEY WERE JUST UNLIKEABLE. I JUST DIDNT FW EITHER OF THEM. CHAR WAS 🙄 AND REID WAS.. 💀 … in the wise words of CJK, skimmed it like a potato 🥔 (Kropp, 2023) I am praying that the next book is a classic, fic, lit fic, EVEN NON FIC AT YHIS POINT…

The PERFECT small town romance wrapped in a bow just waiting to be devoured! “Following Fox” is a chef’s kiss. If you like a man falling over himself for a woman, this is the book for you!! It gives me “Gilmore Girl” vibes in the best way, from a small town to a swoon-worthy man owning a diner. Perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Great read for a raining day. (Thank you for allowing me to be an ARC reader!)
Highlights: Heathy relationship New beginning Spice Great banter Small town
this book was a cute beach read. very hallmark movie. honestly nothing really stood out to me. the story was the same as other books and so were the characters. but i read for enjoyment so that’s why this book gets 4 stars.
These little books have been the romance highlights of my year so far! I wish there was more, I want to expand the romance of this little town. following fox and picking peaches giving me high love expectations for the future.
…girl! 😊 i’m pretty sure this book might put me in a reading slump because what the fuck was rhat ☹️
shot and sweet review incoming…
some things i absolutely DESPISED:
1. characters: i found it difficult to connect with both of them… i didn’t click or really vibe with them. i found their personalities to be very one dimensional 💭 i also did not like how obsessed this man was, not even like 20 pages in 😭😭 (SPOILER INCOMING) the fact that he broke up with his girlfriend after a quick introduction with fox after 10 years was absolutely fucking insane. i felt like i was living in this man’s delusions 🦴
2. plot: the concept of this book was cute but i’m just not sure if it was executed well.. we needed more emotional depth to the characters and a more though our plot ☹️
3. writing: i’m not a huge fan of the writing 😕 there were some grammatical errors (but that’s OKAY.) and times where the dialogue/sentences sounded a bit.. odd..
some things i enjoyed:
1. there were some cute moments in this book which i awed about! 😊
2. her name was charlotte, which is ME.
3. taylor swift reference made me bounce with joy and glee - thank you so much for including this.
i would like to apologise for not loving this book - i really tried but i simply could not bring myself to it. i found myself desperately trying to reach the end and finish the book 📖
⚠️warning before you read this book⚠️: you will experience uncontrollable giggling and kicking of your feet!!
this book was so adorable 😭 it was giving very much hallmark movie minus all the cringe. okay that’s a lie there was a little cringe but it was ✨tasteful cringe✨
i love fox so much 🫶🏾 her bursting out crying when someone does a simple bare minimum nice thing for her? ME CORE! 🗣️🗣️ her and reid are so mf cute, the way they just took care of each other was so sweet 😭 STOP i’m gonna cry again
my only thing is why do authors always introduce the stalker ex plot line only to give us absolutely nothing 😐 like there was so much room for an interesting backstory or SOMETHING.
also fox never really addressed her trauma at all. like ma’am you had a whole fiancé a month ago but you never talked about it???? and an extremely traumatic childhood??? and she had a whole therapist that we never saw?? please omfg
anyways, reid has earned a spot on the never ending roster 🤭
I need more books of this author, her writing and storyline are so wonderful. Your such in a different world were you want to live and met everyone, the people and the town are so wonderful written. It’s the perfect quick read, where the world is just beautiful! I can’t wait to hear more of those characters or the people in this town, I can’t wait and hope there is a new book coming soon. For me this book is also a 5⭐️ star read, it was just as good as the first one! A big recommendation, I hope you will like it as I did!
this book was also very good, just as good as the first one but i’m deducting stars because of how long it took me to finish i understand why she wanted to wait, she had to focus on her store and she had issues to work through but like it wasn’t as legitimate of an excuse as georgia had for waiting sooooo idk man i loved the dog though and the prospect of opening a cafe bookstore in a small town
I didn’t think you could get a character more perfect than Ashton but Nicholas was wonderful. So sweet and understanding and PATIENT! I really enjoyed this. It was just like the first, short and sweet but had a little more substance because it was a little longer. Overall, a lovely read and I hope we get a Reese + Ryan book 👀
ADORABLE! Like SO cute you just end up smiling the entire time. So cozy and low stakes which was exactly what I was hoping for. I miss them so much already and will be anxiously awaiting all future releases
This was quick and cute to read , I wasn’t in love with this one as much as I was with Picking Peaches. I just felt like the brother was doing a little too much for my liking like okay nah let’s back off a little bit! Still overall a cutie fun read 🦊
“I'm her fucking man. So tell me, who the fuck are you?"
This book was a fun little read, it gave 2000s romcom. I loved the first book in the series, and was excited to read this one but it just wasn't entirely for me, & that's okay.
[4.5] I also love my acts of service boyfriend, a small town, books, and coffee 🫶 Seriously, consider Ansley B. Calloway a part of my "instant buy" authors 🩷
I liked the first book so i couldn’t wait for this one to come out. I love how both stories intertwine but aren’t directly related. Can’t wait for the next read
