About the author

Kaori Ozaki (Japanese name: 尾崎かおり) is a professional comic artist and character designer. She made her debut in 1993 at the age of 15 for shojo publisher Shinshokan with the short series An Angel above the Piano. Her breakthrough work Immortal Rain earned her great acclaim globally as it was translated into a dozen languages and eventually published in the United States by Tokyopop. She worked on the eleven volume series for 12 years before switching publishers and switching genres with her first title from Kodansha's young adult magazine Afternoon, The Gods Lie.

Love a backstory! And what I really loved about these flashbacks was that the story that was revealed wasn’t the same old thing I’ve seen again and again. Every time it set up an expectation, it went and mixed things up in a very satisfying way. I wouldn’t say they were twists exactly, but nothing too predictable. Made for a gripping tale.

This! This was the volume where I knew Immortal Rain would become one of my favorite series of all time! Finally getting to see Rain's beautiful (terrible) backstory, his terrible (beautiful) relationship with Yuca and Freya, and everything in between. Bookended with his conversation with Machika, there's no flashback volume that has ever topped these reveals. It's my favorite! 5/5

This is the book where we learn about Rain's history..including what seems to be his love..and how he became immortal.
Thought for younger age groups. A creative story, but although this specific book in the story wasn't a mature content, the series is rated older teen, so I would keep that in mind, and limit the age to those mature enough..sounds weird not to have a specific age limit on the series, but you can check out R-rated movies at the library, if their there.(not that you should check them out!!)

Oh look, flashback moments! And wow was it sad but interesting at the same time. And as for the present also, good as well. I don't know if I said it before, or enough, but I really like the art. Yes the story is pretty good, same with the premise, but how can you not like the expressions? Especially for the different emotions going through the characters some of the pages? Very well done. Or maybe the cover just looks good.

D’où lui vient cette immortalité ?
Cette plongée dans le passé de Rain est émouvante. Tout en découvrant comment il est devenu immortel, on comprend la douleur qu'il craint à s'attacher de nouveau.
On rencontre le fameux Yuca mentionné précédemment par Rain. Il semble qu'il est lié à ceux qui cherchent à s'en prendre à nos amis.
Freya est adorable, c'est bien d'elle que Rain tient son violon ; normal qu'il ne veuille pas perdre ce dernier souvenir.
