To all the literary snobs who only (claim to) read stuff that makes them look smart in the non mainstream public eye; Rozanne Lanczak Williams' There's a Monster in the Tree is one of the best books since... most of Dr. Seuss' considerable, deservedly laudable and endlessly lucrative body of work.

Yes, I'm talking about sixteen pages of lovingly illustrated pure childhood glittering gold. Don't miss it. It's not like it will take you long to read it either, oh great Mr. and Ms. Adults at large. And your very young kids will get a monster sized kick out of it, too, I reckon.

Honestly though, There's a Monster in the Tree is one of my absolute favorite teaching tools for ESL/EFL instruction in Asia. Kids (and big people too) from anywhere and everywhere, really, could learn a whole lot from this superbly penned work of very finely designed early childhood LITERATURE.
