Everything we think, say, feel, and do has a direct impact on our physical and emotional health. And yet, we overlook this fundamental truth every day.
A solution exists. The 22 Non-Negotiable Laws of Wellness advocates a holistic no-nonsense approach to health and well-being that is keenly sensitive to all facets of body, mind, and spirit. These twenty-two keys provide the definitive toolkit for achieving your own high-level wellness.
Greg Anderson is the founder of Cancer Recovery Foundation International, a global affiliation of national organizations whose mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer.
Cancer Recovery Foundation focuses on the human services side of cancer. It does not fund clinical research or medical treatments. The Foundation provides adults with training and support for implementing whole-person cancer prevention and survival strategies. Children with cancer and their families are served through the Children’s Project. The Foundation has established affiliates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
Greg Anderson was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in 1984. He was given 30 days to live. Refusing to accept the hopelessness of this prognosis, he went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were “terminal.” His findings from interviews with over 16,000 cancer survivors form the strategies and action points for what has become an international cancer survival movement.
Anderson is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading wellness authorities. He is the author of eight books which have been translated into 29 languages.
There are many valuable passages in this book. Many ideas on wellness I plan to incorporeal in my life. All actions coming from a place of Love is ultimate goal.
Don't get me wrong, I love simplicity. There is a fine line, however, between simplicity and an over reliance on cliches. The advice in this book us decent, even helpful to improving your life. If you are prone to rolling your eyes at lazy, cliched writing, you may want to look elsewhere for mind/body/spirit wisdom. To take just one example, Anderson lifts Nike's "Just Do It" slogan in his chapter on physical activity. Yawn...
Това е една уникална книга от човек с изключително щастлива съдба. Идеите му, на базата на които е написана книгата са формулирани много убедително, ясно и точно. Написана е на популярен език и е от полза за всеки, който я прочете
Definitely gives you things to think about. It also gives you different ways of looking at things and I can see how changing your view to his way of thinking about things could improve your life.
I own a lot of books on wellness but this one stands out to me. It reminded me of the expression, "if common sense was common everyone would have it." The information in the book is ordinary and sensible and, although we may know these facts, sometimes it takes a fresh perspective to reanimate them for us. It allows you to reframe ideas you may already have about wellness in a way that will make it's lessons easier to implement into your life. It was written in a concise format and I know I will come back to it for reminders in the future.
I really liked this book because it came from a man who healed himself from cancer and examined life and living and what it takes to be well. There’s more to it than what we grew up believing. Doctors do not have the answers. Doctors cannot heal us. Only we ourselves can heal us. In fact, giving our power away to someone in a white coat could actually cement the illness in our bodies. We are powerful, in control beings and can do some amazing and powerful things. I loved how one of the laws is Least Medical Intervention. SPOT on.
This book isn't a duplicate of Stephen Covey's work, or Dale Carnegie's. Rather, it is an extension.
So many of these laws are simple and intuitive, but the problem is, they aren't widely known.
If you have the time, you should definitely read this. You may not find all of the laws appealing, but you will definitely find one that resonates with you. If that doesn't work, the stories in here will provide you with shear gratitude and happiness.
Because it was very imformative. It was hard to put down.
I would recommend a friend to read this book. It seemed to be life changing. I had a lot. Of doubts and questions about my life. Now that's where this book comes in. Excellent read..
I've read a number of wellness books and have been overwhelmed with the process. Greg Anderson broke it down into doable daily actions for me. I would recommend this book to those who struggle with self-care.
This book begins with telling you what everyone says is right, and why you’re wrong. You’ve been doing it wrong this entire time! Feel joy (as he does) do this, do that…. There really aren’t a lot of absolutes in life, but this negativity in a self help book made it an absolute no for me
