I have read "Mirrored Life" by Anita, and was not as intrigued and a page-turner like this book. I was able to figure out which men out of the three she would be with, but I love the way she kept me on my toes will reading it. It let me know that "first loves" can go to prison and the feelings can rekindle even though you want to hide them. I love the Cuban characters as well. I will check out her other books, but this one is my favorite so far! I even emailed the author to let her know. I will buy this one for sure to have on my shelves. Her intimate scenes were well-written, thought-provoking without the raunchy, too detailed sex scenes. I could handle this, more like romance than erotica!

Two Cuban boat people make good in USA very quickly. So, I found the subject matter hard to believe, but it was an enjoyable read and I did want to know who the heroine winds up with.
